  1. DILIAL - BLACK CORE

sounds like Sadie - Meisai in the instrumental at parts

I definitely hear Meisai and Crimson Tear in that DILIAL song, especially the chorus that starts around 1:09.

When I heard that song from DILIAL when it first came out forever ago I knew it was from something but I just couldn't figure it out LOL

  2. DespairsRay's tour was a cluster fuck because didn't they have Visa issues right before the tour start?

Anyway, I was just going to pipe in but it seems like most Japanese artists always play at Showbox in Seattle. So I wouldn't look into too much in regards to who plays where in the US. I think it's just whoever is booking the bands are just familiar with Showbox than other local venues.

The exceptions would be Loudness, Church of Misery, Sabbat and Sigh playing at the typical local metal venues but that's probably because they're associated with those metal labels and promoters that regularly book at these venues.

I'm only speaking in regards to Seattle but I imagine that could apply to other cities as well.

  3. My problem with VK trying to do numetalcorelawl vocals is that it's just a bad imitation of establish genres that have set the standard for that style.

I agree that being used to is one way to look at it. When you've been listening to actual death metal bands or black metal bands and harsh vocals is pretty much the trademark of those genres, the poorly imitated VK take on it is going to just not sound good at all. You're used to just hearing the better use of that style.

@aoi mochi the screams sound retared,

    Wow, very descriptive.....

  4. The B sides were definitely a let down on their debut single. Which really sucks because Versailles usually had really solid B side tracks. Usually preferred them over the title track most of the time.

Fuckin loved Libido, dat bad synth but super sweet solo and catchy salsa dance soundin music with dat bass guitar. OOMPH OOMPH come on Teru, give us Libido part two!!

  5. Even though their first album was basically still a DEG remake album. It still felt pretty fresh and didn't feel like complete copy. They played around with the songs and it was a new fresh approach. Recent stuff from them feels like a complete carbon copy and since I've already out played DEG, it's basically the same outplayed stuff and not a lot of enjoyment from listening to something I've over listened to in high school.

  6. It does seem kinda dramatic given what Champs said. As long as they're okay and nothing bad has happened to them, then good luck with life! You don't need us!!! YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT YASU! CONQUER THE WORLD! EAT A WHOLE PIZZA! FIGHT A KUNG FU MASTER! RAAAHH!

  7. Ah ha finally home and holy shit what did I just listen to? I wasn't sure if I should laugh or not, like what's up with all that cat mewing he's doing?? So much nyan nyan I can't unhear it. Post WTD Dir en grey/Kyo always sounds so bad live and unfortunately Kyo isn't any better in Sukekiyo.

This recording will probably sound better in a studio, I think the idea is pretty cool but right now it sounds like a hot mess. Kyo only sounds good with studio magic these days (unless it's Lotus or something). Looking forward to the studio version, hopefully it proves to be better than the hot mess they performed. I get that this is a bad recording though and I'm mostly being harsh just to poke at the stans.

Also I agree with bonsaijodelfisch and that I don't get the connection to ambient/folk. Maybe the other songs lean more towards that way or the people calling it that have never actually listened to ambient/folk/acoustic music before?
