  1. aaaah, i neeed to impress somebody like rite nao!

    so here's my my suggestion:

    soutaiseriron - hifi anatomia

    -----

some of the most beautiful music that my hardrive ever had the honor to waste its 0's and 1's on. everything on it, the instruments, the vocals the sound are like played and performed in the softest way possible, only touched or whispered, it's really not something you hear everyday, its gorgeous! (and they're named after the theory of relativity, i mean how cool is that?)

    PM incoming

oh, one of the best albums EVER =)

  2. Some more nice stuff I just found out yesterday.

YukaD is the vocalist/guitarist of the already disbanded ostooandell, which was a really good alternative pop-band active between 2005-2011 (iirc), anyway, in May this year she released her first solo-album. Haven't had the change to pick it up/listen to it yet, but listening to this gem, it should be something awesome. I love these kind of artists. She also improved her voice pretty much over the years. Her voice did fit ostooandell back in the day, but as a solo artist, she is way better than she used to be

  3. Finally up to date thanks to Netflix and Amazon Instant Video (originally only watched the first and half of season 2). Now I have a show to talk to people about!

Season 3 was incredible, my god. Now I'm about to watch the first two episodes of season 4.

And Michonne is awesome. I hated her at first but she grew on me.

Well, I liked Michonne right of the bat, as she was a cool bad-ass =), but now she starts to get some more backstory in the latest episode. or at least, it's buidling up to it =)

  4. I didn't know there were more active dutch members beside me and linh-san

Waarom zegt niemand iets bij de international thread ><

    because... dead xD

Nah, linh, sai, Des, Tokage, cupcakes right out of the top of my head, but I've seen plenty more =)

And then there are a few Dutch-speaking on here too =)

  5. Just watched s04e02... wtf just happened? It was already known that if you die, you'd turn right? They acted like they didn't know it... The season opener was good, this episode just went all over the place... Enough happened, but nothing made real sense actually

  6. So yeah, a game that got my attention for a few weeks already, and finally us Europeans can finally enter the closed beta. I got in last week and played a lot of it already =)

    But what is Hearthstone?

Hearthstone is a free2play CCG (Collectible Card Game) by Blizzard, similar to Magic: The Gathering, only set in a Warcraft-universe =)

You can take role as one of the 9 heroes, who all have their own specific power, and card-decks, beside the regular decks. The more you play, the more credits you get, the more cardpacks you can purchase to get a more diverse deck along the way. Pretty straight forward CCG if you ask me.

What makes it so interesting however is that it is really well put together, and that it is very based on luck. A good deck doesn't make you a winner, a good hand does.

For example, yesterday I had a match as a mage against a warlock, and I was down to 7 health versus 28 health+6armor for my enemy. I had only 3 cards left in my hand, he 4, and he had the upperhand on the board. I was only getting shit cards with high mana that couldn't do anything to clear the board at the time, untill all of a sudden I started getting my taunt-cards I was aiming for. 3 turns later, I had still my 7 health, while my enemy was slaughtered =)

Anyway, my favourite deck by now is a Mage-deck with a lot of taunt, or a Priest with health-buffs.

  7. That's a great project, and not an easy feat. I wish you and everyone involved luck and endurance in pulling it all together, keep it up!

How extensive will the database end up being? Like, what kind of information will you cover? Also, will it involve user input etc. or will mods/specific people keep everything up to date and building the database? Users being able to input at least some things would be pretty effective in filling up the database with artists and info, even if it still required some level moderation...

I won't speak for Kai, but as far as once was intendend (and so far as I know) it's meant to be an open platform.

Everyone can add and edit stuff, to a certain degree, like we can on Wikipedia, though there will be a team monitoring these changes.

And the purpose is of it being so complete as it can get. Biography, discography, member descriptions, past members, etc

    Also, hate that $499=€499...

  9. About licensing, sharing, selling and the cloud system, here's an interesting listen

So you can share your library with 10 family members at any time on any given X1. Not sure how they can verify if someone's a family member or not, so it should also be possible to add friends to it, and share games that way..

Not definitive if you can play the same game at the same time, and apparently you can only get online with 2 persons at the same time...

And besides that, you can access your own library on a friends X1 with your own account logged in. But you need to verificate online every hour (instead of once a day on your own X1)

About reselling, publishers decide. So it's not up to MS, but up to EA, Ubi, Activision etc.

About trading, only with peepz that are over 30 days friends with you on XBL (so no ebay selling allowed)

Kinect can be paused and turned off, so it won't be recording all the time.

I love the Cloud idea, as it is a steam-like system, but then more innovated...

    I hate the reselling/trading system

I for one really don't mind the reselling/trading system as I only got like 1 or 2 used games in my current library of this gen. The sharing however can be tricky, I shared a shitload of games with some friends and family, but as long as they're on my familylist, that can also be solved with the cloud-sharing.

  10. Just as the title says. What well-known bands have you never bothered listening to? You know, the bands that everyone likes to talk about and/or

dick-ride. The bands you're committing "blasphemy" by not listening to, ahaha. ; )

    X Japan

I have no idea why, but I've never been remotely interested in these guys. I've heard a few of their songs on turntable.fm, but nothing that made we want to go grab an album...

    Supercar

    Eastern Youth

These 2 bands in particular are very popular amongst Japanese indie-heads, but I suppose I never tried them because when I first started exploring indie, I had a very hipster-ish mindset and avoided the big names. I'll have to get around to it one day, heh...

    Some others:

    THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT

    AKFG

    Ging Nang Boys

    BLANKEY JET CITY

    Fishmans

    54-71

I suppose I should at least try a few of these bands out...Funny, because I'm sure they probably have some tunes that are worth hearing too...

Wut, not even ART-SCHOOL is listed on that one, or did you actually try them  lately?

and a shame you haven't treid supercar. as they are awesome =)

As for your list, also haven't treid BJC, TMGE and Eastern Youth

    For my own personal list:

though I own WTD by Dir en Grey, I never really tried them as it's not really my kinda music. Got that album with a total package.

Almost all bands that had an oricon hit actually, I listened to a lil'bit of AKFG, Spitz, and Orange Range but never enough to really know what they sound like...

  11. I bought an XBOX 360 a couple of years ago (luckily the new model that wouldn't crash every time somebody tried to play Final Fantasy XIII on it) and I'm pretty content with it console-wise, so of course I was curious too about the new XBOX. I was fairly disappointed. Here are a few things that bug me about the new console (please correct me if any of these statement turn out to be rumours):[/b]Also very content with the 360. Bought a starters model, died out once on me, but after a repair still going strong =)

    - The fact that you need to be connected to the internet 24/7 in order to play, even if you're not playing online (my internet connection isn't too stable when more devices access the network, which is probably only going to get worse once a machine like the new Xbox is going to need its connection 24/7, even when I'm not online)

As far as I know, it needs to be connected to the internet ones every 24 hours. Still fucking lame, but no 24/7 internet required

    - Th

e Kinect should be connected to the console at all times, even if you are not playing a Kinect game (I mean how is this relevant? I don't want a Kinect, in my opinion Kinect games are quite lame. The Kinect machine better be built in, because it'd be a total rip-off if MS would want you to buy a Kinect solely for the fact that otherwise your console just won't work)

Included are both one controller and one kinect camera. But yeah, required is fucking lame. My game room was too small for the old kinect (as in, I can't get far enough of the screen to stand correctly in front of the camera), so if I buy it, I have to put it in the living room...

    - The fee to be able to play used games (now as far as I know when you buy games, they're going to be registered to your account and your account alone, meaning that if you want to play a used game, MS is going to charge you a fee in order to play it. Now there aren't any EXACT amounts out yet as far as I know, but the most recent one that popped up is that this fee is going to be around the price of the original game, as in, if you would've bought the game new at a store)

No specific details about this yet, and I'm very curious how they gonna handle this. I hope it goes as following

I buy the game in the store, full retail price. With this game comes 1 code to actually play the game. When I want to sell the game, I remove the game from my HDD and I revoke the code I put in. So the code comes available again, and someone else can install and play the game. If I don't revoke the code, and I loan it to someone else, he/she has to pay for another code...

It's a fuck u to whoever shares games with others, but as far as I can see, this should be the best option, unless they scrap this idea completely...

    - The fact they spent more money on their new way of selling games and online connection than on actual processors (apparently Zess told me that the processors in this new XBOX are going to be drastically weaker than the ones in the XBOX 360 when compared to actual software. If that isn't the lamest shit you've ever seen then get out of my face).

Factsheets have not yet been published, so there aren't any details available over the actual processors. Only thing we know now is that the X1 uses 8GB DDR3, while the PS4 uses 8GB DDR5. Still doesn't mean anything actually (I've been told). The DDR3 is better in other specific ways than the DDR5 is, though overall, the DDR5 is better. It all depends as how it is used

Niw, I'm also not convinced by the X1, but that said, I'm also not convinced by the PS4 either. They could have a big bang if they announced they don't change the 2nd hand market as it is now, but they keep quiet...

I guess I sit this one out, which will be hard I guess. Starting the PS2, I had all consoles afterwards on day one (except the Wii fuck U).

And everyone that keeps bitching on it not having games. It was announced this announcement would focus on the new features, and that the games will be announced during the E3...

Guess I'll be going back to the PC for gaming, or I might go for the Steambox =)

  12. Without doubt you should check out 8-eit. Guess almost all of their stuff should be on here, as I posted a lot of them

    jizue is also pretty awesome

and so of the top of my head, JABBERLOOP is also pretty awesome, though there aren't that much rock influences in there...
