Yeah it is weird that it says "spot" when it does seem to be a full video... But yeah hardly a problem. lol I actually really like what I hear so far, song kind of reminds me of the stuff they released at the beginning of their activities. So look forward to checking out the album in full.

Yes, clearly I have never been to a gig or festival in my entire life, given that I actually have been playing in bands (who do shows) since I was about 16....
-
100% agree with the phone thing! That would be amazing, especially as I think it kind of ruins the moment for the person recording as well, like you say, why record a shite video when you can actually just be in the moment and enjoy the show? Like, you wouldn't record 30 seconds of a theatre show or whatever as you're supposed to be engrossed in it, so why do the same for a gig?

They were cool, but holy shit, cringey weeb fans galore.... What would you expect when a Japanese band come here though I guess? Like I swear to god, half these people have never been to a gig before, was the same when Dir played, everyone over-reacting like a bunch of babies at their first disco. Here's how it goes: Ruki: "wooo" - *crowd* "omggggggggggfuckingyesamazingcantcontrolmyseljlkfhfjhfhffff" *Ruki gets a plastic bottle and sprays water on crowd* - *crowd* "omgfukknwoorterrrrrrrromgholyamazinggodlikefucknidhfjlhiuueeiiiii" *Reita does gun fingers for like a second* - *crowd* "omggunfingaaazsocoolitsawsummmffffzziu" *literally nothing happens during the encore* - *crowd starts cheering like the cure to cancer has just been discovered* - *random roadie walks out* LOOOOOOL. haha. Seriously, I love the bands and the music but the crowd at these gigs are always so horrendously cringe and immature, I'm debating whether to even bother seeing Japanese bands anymore, specially when you have to watch the gig through peoples phones because there are so bloody many blocking your view you can't see shit anyway.

Yeah I've actually thought the same thing tbh, the use of the 8th string seems totally un-necessary and even if they'd stuck to 7 strings it'd sound way better as some of the riffs get pretty muddy and hard to make out, and with 7 strings would have way more clarity. Like some of those riffs are kind of cool but because it just sounds so sludgy and messy it doesn't do the riffs justice at all.

Probably Dani Filth because it'd be funny as hell. + Ruling out Japanese artists because I'm probably too shit at Japanese to really talk about anything interesting and understand them to a great extent... haha.
-
I can't work out if that's creepy or funny.
-
Ah right, well, they have now. lol.

Got followed by these guys on instagram today and hadn't heard of them before so thought I'd take a listen and despite all the flack they're getting I think they're actually pretty interesting! May have to get me some of that album goodness.
-
Seems legit. They've posted about it on their instagram.

Totally, I really love them too.

I'd have to hear it to make a full judgement, but tbh so far DIMLIM don't have a song I dislike (not counting the silly SE's) so am sure it'll be cool. Ah right, reason I said June/July is because that was the time I was in Japan and went to a few shows and can't remember exact dates and such without looking it up so know it was just within that time frame. It would seem silly to play the live only single songs at shows considering only a few people would know it, but yeah maybe it could be that then, I remember they mainly played the singles which you'd expect and that was around the time Vanitas had just been released, so managed to catch a live performance of that which was cool.
-
If that wasn't sarcasm I'd be very surprised. haha. This song basically sums up why Kyo shouldn't write songs, I know some people really love the songs he's written for Dir but they have always stood out as being pretty weak in my opinion.

I think that's more or less the reason I can't fully take to NAZARE, like they aren't bad their just so damn all over the place. It's good to have variation but there just seems to be little inconsistency, songs are often a jumbled mess and full releases end up being kind of incoherent. I did think for what they put out with the sample of "IDEAL" that seemed to be the most consistent thing they've done, have taken a chance and pre-ordered it so look forward to hearing that when it gets here. Maybe they have finally found and settled on a specific style.
-
Oh wow, that'd be a task! They have so many awesome songs in my opinion, would just end up being the whole discography. lol. May be up for this challenge when I have the time though, will PM you if I ever do sort out a mixtape.

Finally got around to checking out the single (thanks to whoever it was who shared it on here) as I didn't want to buy it based on how little I'd heard of them, but this band are actually pretty damn cool. Definitely interested in seeing how they progress as this is a promising start! Heavy and catchy tunes with a twist of weirdness all sits well with me. haha.

There are tonnes of things that could be said about this though. I personally prefer the physical releases and agree quality over quantity is better but it's when bands "do a mamireta" and releases a load of singles or whatever at the same time or pretty shortly after one another, that could easily have been compiled into one full length or a mini album that it gets annoying. I went into more detail about this elsewhere so not going to go fully into it again, but just feel like some bands could produce more quality stuff if they weren't so focused on trying to get a release out every few months and spent maybe a year to just write one really solid full length album. I know that's not how the vkei scene generally works, but among the amount of bands out there who are boring and generic it would be nice to see some bands take more time to try and produce higher quality stuff.

CDs are still massive in Japan and as vkei isn't that big out of Japan I don't think there's anything to worry about. Personally I much prefer physical releases to digital and am glad a lot of these bands aren't jumping on the digital bandwagon or only releasing a few physical copies and charging way more for it than a normal album.(which some bands are doing and vkei would no doubt take advantage of that) But when you consider live only releases and stuff, people literally travel from all over to make that show to get that CD if they can. Also it's not uncommon for Japanese to buy multiple copies of one CD, (usually one to use and one to keep wrapped as a collectors item) or to try and get all the collectible cards that come with the physical release. I can't remember what the group was called but when I was in Japan once, went into a tower records and there was some idol group performing in there and a guy in the queue to buy some stuff in front of me had 2 singles by this group but literally about 10 copies of each one. So even though digital is obviously becoming more of a thing in Japan I do feel like physical is still much preferred there.

Oh my god, there is literally too many. I can't remember which band it was but remember me and a mate having a laugh at some of the lyrics for one album once. I think it was one of REIGN's releases.

I have only scanned the rest of the posts here but so far haven't seen anyone mention Issei from Nazare. You all know. lol.

A little disappointed to hear the second track is a ballad, not that I have a major issue with ballads but DIMLIM are pretty solid at being heavy and crazy so was hoping for more of that. Speaking of songs they play live, I remember when I saw them in June/July last year they played a song that I didn't know and still as far as I've heard hasn't been released. But it's probably from one of those live only singles that us foreigners can't hope to acquire (easily). haha. I think it was just after they released the "boku"/"watashi" singles, so probably was one of those. As for "Rijin" I actually really like it, the spot didn't get me hyped at all but the full song is awesome, though do have to agree with those who are getting sick of the "over-tapping" at this point I'm wondering if Retsu is even doing this to be musical or just to be like "hey dudes, look at me, I can tap *widdlewiddlewiddle*" haha. Just gets to a certain point in the song where you start to feel a bit like, "ok, you can stop that now...." + What the hell is up with Retsu's guitar? Visually this is probably the only issue I have with the whole thing, I'm sure it's a decent guitar and what not, but doesn't it just completely not fit the overall image at all? lol.

Yeah well that's really helpful for those who can't understand Japanese.... Specially as that's exactly what it says on their tweet, so if someone doesn't understand that not sure this is going to help.... Just saying. But anyhow, yeah, seems strange they would release new photos without anything to follow up on. But if this does somehow end up tying into the next release whenever they do announce it, I'm not really worried, personally don't mind this look and in the wave of vkei bands that go for that "edgy and juvenile" image it's hardly a shock to anyone. Haha. I actually really like this band and no matter how much their sound varies for each release they do deliver, so am not at all concerned that they'll release something whack. haha.
-
No problem, will PM it to you. Yeah I know what you mean, it is a ballache as the prices for CDs/DVDs are generally pretty high as well as paying postage from Japan + customs charges and all that crap. Not to mention the prices of live limited releases.... I personally have cooled down a lot on buying vkei releases and only really buy stuff by those bands I know are good and wont disappoint. haha. Or if another band releases something particularly special, which unfortunately with todays vkei seems to be pretty sparse in the sea of "generic" bands that are out there.

Anyone else catch "Sense of distrust" that was released on line? (Seems to be taken from the CODA single) Not sure what to make of the track to be honest, some cool riffs and moments in there but has that usual kind of "messy" sound that Nazare seem to be really great at with a very mediocre chorus. Not necessarily bad, just a bit weird. haha.

Am I the only one who thinks the vocalist is over-doing it to the point of being cringey and just difficult to watch? lol.
