I know a lot of V Kei bands have weird names but seriously, wtf is up with the name of this band??
-
Trailer is kind of cool. Just makes me want to check out all their older DVDs. Would like to check out the limited edition of the yokohama arena show/documentary but those prices are mad. Going to take some convincing. But will probably get the New York one just because I saw them on that tour. haha. Not at New York though unfortunately.

Haha no worries. They do seem to be on a bit of a mission with deleting their history and whatnot at the moment. Heard they deleted a load of the old videos of YouTube as well.
-
You can never have too much blood. haha.
-
When I saw it was live limited I didn't even bother listening to it. haha.
-
Pretty much all Japanese bands need to do this. haha. Very few actually use decent English or use it effectively. 😛
-
Their instagram has been active for a while already, just deleted all the old stuff to replace it with this new look/direction or whatever they're doing. So it looks new, but it's not. lol.

Chill bro. haha.

Retsu does keep posting on instagram stuff like "where do you want us to play overseas?" and such so possibly so! Tbh I'm not really surprised about them dropping the V Kei image, especially as they've always been easily able to be part of both V Kei and the more "extreme" metal scene. I've always had the impression they don't fully want to market themselves as a full on V kei band, that may sound a bit weird but they're not the kind of band who are releasing singles every month or two and take a long time between releases which keeps things higher quality. (+They're probably all trying to run part time jobs as well as doing the music) And the way they are focused on putting out albums, instead of single after single, even the way they promote themselves seems more like Dir, or any of the other bigger bands in the Japanese scene do, like they don't tend to drop so many lyric videos, sample music videos, album snippets (not in the same way most v kei bands do at least) and such. They've not had the easiest ride so far, but they've managed to recover from losing members before so aren't so worried about them coming back from this. But at the same time will not be surprised if they did decide to call it quits and focus on other projects or whatever, would be a bummer but they've made some quality stuff that'll be around forever so that's good enough for me.

Yeah I'm familiar with them, got everything they've put out to date. But between the full length and now they've been a bit stale in my opinion, kushami was a pretty cool track and there is the odd nice moment but nothing comparable to the full length which I absolutely love! haha. But yeah, am really digging this new track so sounds promising, just annoying how they're going about releasing all these singles instead of just putting them all into one album or whatever.... I know it's "just V Kei" but it's still whack. haha.

Damn this track is sounding brutal as hell! Best thing they've released in a while! (for me anyway)

Yeah, I heard the same thing so didn't bother looking into it either. Think I was just curiously searching to see what stuff of theirs they did have and they both popped up so was like, yep, having those! haha. + Glad to see you got the Sarigia stuff!!! I'll be forever jealous. 😛

You don't say..... lol

I find that a bit hard to believe as well. Not just that I wouldn't have thought they'd be into Dir, but the fact that any of the members would go to a show? Seriously? I also have not seen any photo/video evidence of this, which I'm almost certain there would have been. Hardly like either band are shy around cameras, and Dir basically documenting every tour overseas they do. But if there is, then throw it this way.

They were on CD Japan weirdly enough. I remember hearing they were supposed to be pretty limited in distribution but yeah they were on there. But if you're going to get them I suggest getting in fast as 0th album says there is only 1 copy left and 1st album only 3 copies, normally they can still be back ordered after, but if they have got a somewhat limited distro that could be it. + Got the email today saying they have been posted out!

We can hope. haha.

Purchased but am currently waiting on the two Jigsaw full lengths. Am curious about the 0th album as didn't find anything they've done too inspiring upto this point (but only heard two or three of the live only releases) and the 1st album sounds a lot more refined with their usual touch of weirdness so am looking forward to that.

Corey Taylor is the one that gets me most, nothing wrong with his vocals now but he definitely doesn't have that same aggression and gruffness to his voice he did in the Iowa days, RIP voice of the Iowa era... Apparently it was a result of too much drinking more than anything, but damn he sounded good back then. haha.

Ah ok! Interesting idea. Not sure they needed to put that on CD rather than a podcast or insta live or whatever but ok. I mean I like the idea about them answering fan questions and whatnot, but on a CD, don't you kind of want music? Not people talking?? lol.

I like it, will probably wait for them to release a full length/mini album before buying any of their stuff though. Good, but not blowing me away. 😛
-
Yeah they're not bad! Definitely worth having a listen to more of their stuff if you can. A really nice blend of being heavier but retaining that typical melodious side of V Kei as well which not many bands seem to balance quite as well. (in my opinion anyway, often is a bit black and white with a lot of bands) But tbh I lost interest a bit in them after their full length, not that it was a bad album but just all seemed pretty samey, so feeling like I have enough Verxina to keep me occupied for a while, so unless they release anything exceptionally amazing it'll probably stay that way. But the two singles and full length are enjoyable at least if you're interested in them.

Saw they've announced their 2nd single but am a little confused with the tracklist, basically seems both types (as expected it's a 2 type release) have two actual songs and a load of "talks" on them, so am not sure what that will be all about exactly. "Gulugulu radio classroom" seems to be the overall gist, some are listed "strong talk" so am assuming that is perhaps explicit talks or something? Anyway, if anyone can be bothered to look more into the details, post them here, would be cool to know better what's going on with these.

Really digging the new song/video so far, but considering the length of the full version it's not even a third of the song so will be interesting to hear it in its entirety. I know it's not something Dir tend to do, but in this case with such an epic length song (presumably there's a full video as well?) I'm surprised they didn't include the full PV in one of the packages at least. Would be epic, the vibe of the song and video fit so well together, am seriously loving it.

Really like the snippet of the 1st album, sounds like they have finally managed to refine their sound and got it together. I actually saw them live last time I was in Japan and really enjoyed their set but haven't been able to enjoy any of the recordings I've heard from the singles so far so am a little skeptical on this 0th album as it seems to be a collection of all that basically. But may get it anyway as a curiosity purchase. haha. Is just a shame the snippets of each song for both albums are so short...

Yeah, when I saw them last year he was really struggling with those high screeches but otherwise good performance so no real compaints from me. But tbh, I wouldn't expect someone to be able to pull those off flawlessly every time. lol. But from what I can tell from their latest releases that Sho is stepping away a bit from all the grunting and screeching and focusing a lot more on actual singing so maybe he's already aware he's fucking his voice up so is trying to calm it down a bit. + On the topic of him being a Kyo clone, I don't really agree that he's a clone at all. Only thing that's really similar is he goes for the same kind of range, mixing up the gutturals, screams and clean singing, but that could be said for a lot of V Kei vocalists surely? Doesn't make them a clone of Kyo for using different vocal styles, I welcome it in fact, a vocalist who doesn't have any variation can be pretty monotonous and tiresome to listen to.
