  1. Janne Da Arc disbands for good and to see a good chunk of bandomen I follow on Twitter mourn them makes things even sadder😭 Truly shows their impact.

[*tinfoil-hatting intensifies*] Abe's wife a Kamijo fan?? I didn't know that haha! Does it mean they're going to push a vk resurgence for Reiwa era? C'mon Abe!

How in the hell did they manage to release the new song and MV so fast? Do they have connections with the government or something? 🤔 Anyways, as per usual, the song is a bop.

I've taken the test a couple times already, I always end up as INFP-T and I think it suits me pretty well.

Here I am with another piece of information only I can be bothered with contribute with probably. Ex-EVE Takeru (and now CLACK inc.) has two twin brothers (named Yuu and Kaname) who are also vocalists. They're currently a pop-rock duo called TWiN PARADOX, but they've been in several indie rock bands in the Osaka scene, such as 80/TRACK, which had a techno/dance/rock sound and somewhat a vk-ish aesthetic. They opened for EVE a couple times, even though they of course used to deny their relationship (not fooling anyone most likely since they look like a triplet almost lol) Here's the three brothers back in the EVE/80/TRACK DAYS: And them in their most recent picture:

Hey! Thank you so much for the welcome and for the praise!😊 Sure thing, I'm super open to recommendations! The fact that you stick to heavier bands is not an issue at all, I grew up on metal (especially death metal), so😉

I'm into this. I'm weak to a good (seemingly) technical singer (also cause his cleans sort of remind me of my bias style-wise a bit). Musically they're also my thing, melodic with an edge. I see a ton of potential here, I'm excited. (but also can't unsee the Koichi comparison pfff)

Found out about this band recently, they caught my interest right away. There's something fresh and mysterious about them (compared to others in the current scene at least), so I'm definitely keeping an eye. The "low-quality" aspect adds to their charm imo. I wonder if they're under a label or completely self-funded? Because the promotion aspect seems to be severely lacking...
  9. Ah, I found my ichiban's thread. Forgive me bumping this, but I can't help myself... So, I got the single and it's really really good. The MV song is kinda SID-ish almost, while the other two tracks are a bit heavier and I would describe as melodic metal with super catchy clean vocals. There's one song, ESCAPE, that instrumentally straight up reminds me of recent In Flames. If you're into this kind of non-edgy, low-key kei (meaning that they don't go overboard with costuming and try-hardness) with good catchy melodies, CLACK inc. is a good band to check out. Also, they've recently released previews for all their songs on twitter. They're over 2 minutes long, so a really good length. You can check it here
  10. It seems like the new single is all over the place. Which given the "concept" may be done purposefully, but still. I think the songs just sound very uninspired. May change my mind upon full release, but idk, didn't catch my interest unlike previous stuff.

Thank you, likewise😊 I am familiar with D'ERLANGER, but I guess I should acquire a more in-depth knowledge of them. Thank you for the reminder, will do!

RoNo☆Cro and all the other bands with a "☆" in it (I don't get iiiit) L.A bash all the emotions (which are also a terrible, terrible band imo, even though I kinda like them in a "so bad it's good" kind of way)

I'll intervene with the only piece of information I can contribute with (ex) EVE's guys ages: Takeru was born in 1988 Ryo (now Arma in CLACK inc.) in 1987 Keita in 1987 Yoshi (aka Sana in UNiTE) is the only one I'm not sure of, I believe he should be the youngest so I assume 1989-1990? Ah and Baku from CLACK inc. (ex-Zerogumi's Hotaru) should be born in 1989. [cue "no1curr"]
  14. I definitely agree that Batsu's vocals would benefit from some tecnique, but I think that the fact that he isn't a "good" singer fits their style. They have this sort of punk, i-don't-give-a-f type of attitude and his vocal style embodies that. I usually prefer more technical singers for sure, but I really don't mind it for the type of band Mamireta is. I dig the song, I think that calling it an "Ojamashimasu" with better production is the perfect description. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.

Thank you so much for your warm welcome! Let's see... my favorite active band is CLACK inc., which has generated from EVE's ashes (probably my all-time favorite band). Others band I dig are Kizu, HAKLO, Razor, Mamireta, The Raid., Arlequin, Neverland... some more "cliche" choices like Royz, UNiTE, DIMLIM, DDRM (even though I kinda have a love-hate relationship with them), Diru etc... when it comes to disbanded bands, Rentrer En Soi, 9GOATS, An Cafe, Kagrra and D'EspairsRays are among my favorites. I also like some more old-school stuff a la BUCK-TICK, MM, SHAZNA, Janne Da Arc etc., but I admit that my knowledge of 80-90's vk is a bit lacking😅

Hello everyone! You can call me Jae. I'm relatively a newbie in the vk world, even though for the past year I've been getting more and more into it. Unfortunately I'm the type that sticks to her favorites and doesn't venture much outside it, but I wanna change that. For that reason I thought that coming here would be a good way to find new bands and broaden my horizons a bit. I'm mostly into the new wave of vk, I listen to several newer indie bands but I definitely wanna expand my knowledge. I'm here to learn so please go easy on me😊
