Was not expecting that. They sound really fun.

A+ reference

For me it would have to be Ruka from Nightmare. I loved the songs he composed for the band (up until To be or not to be, where his song writing became a mess), but the dude seems to have the shittiest attitude. He acted like a moody 14 year old boy with no manners. Even if it was just a persona (and I'm still not sure if it was), it was just super distasteful and not at all cool the way he acted like he hated having to do anything Nightmare related and like he couldn't stand being around the other members.

I have no citations for this because I really don't care, but I've seen people get into arguments about this who say this isn't Ruki's thing and that a good number of others did it before him.

Some of these songs would probably sound really nice with a different vocalist.

They were in between, had some pretty good moments.

Damy (Even though they just disbanded) Miztavla VelBet [_Vani;lla]

The opposite, they're my favorite band. They do get a lot of hate on here though. I think it's a mix of people not wanting to associate themselves with anime bands and also disappointment for prior fans with their last few releases before they went on hiatus starting with the SCUMS era. More than saying they get a lot of hate though, I'd say the majority of people on here just don't have an opinion on them anymore. I've personally been listening to them for almost 10 years though and have no desire to stop any time soon. But I'm so biased I even think their solo projects are good and you can't convince me otherwise.

I like these previews more than the PV spot. Anyway I'm looking forward to it. I think I'm going to like them. It's also nice to see Kou back (so now I guess Riuki is the only Miztavla member who hasn't made a comeback).

For me it was back in 2009. I was going through a metalhead kid phase and I also liked anime, so I had been following Maximum the Hormone after finding them through Death Note a few years prior. I was already aware of VK bands like Nightmare, L'arc, An Cafe, etc, but I strictly only wanted to listen to MTH because I was desperately trying to be the hardcore kid who only liked cool bands like Iron Maiden and VK looked too pretty ( MTH was certified brutal). But YT was always recommending me the Gazette, so one day I just said what the heck and gave them a listen (to silly god disco) and I was automatically on board. From there I just started listening to a shit ton of VK bands and haven't looked back. Also after about a year of listening to VK I admitted to myself that I had always really liked Nightmare and head dived into being their full time stan

They're long gone, but I loved/ still listen to Vani;lla. Were they just a copy of the gazette? Yes. But I never cared because I still liked the songs they put out and that's the only thing that mattered.

I've never been able to stand his singing, but glad to see he's still going with this. Really would enjoy this project though if he found himself another vocalist because his songs are pretty catchy.

Can't wait to see where this goes.

I am here for it.

Okay that sounded really cool. I love messy sounds like this. Looking forward to this band a lot now.

I'm glad he's going back to the one CD only release format. I wasn't digging the previous format where the two versions carried an extra song that the other didn't. And before "this is usual for VK." Yeah, I know. But Nightmare wasn't big on doing it, and I always appreciated it because I wasn't paying 15-30 usd for an extra song. And I won't lose sleep over not watching a music video.

Instead of capturing DAMY at their most mature, I feel that Jigokuchuu Shinteki Limiter captured them at their most conflicted. They attributed their separation to musical differences and I feel like this release captures that struggle well. As mentioned above, most of Jigokuchuu feels half baked. Like they didn't try as much as they should have which could very well have been due to musical differences in terms of where the band wanted their sound to go so instead they settled on whatever was presentable, but not fantastic (which I understand can be difficult when there's conflicting opinions on what fantastic should sound like). My best guess is that some of the members wanted to keep the early-dezert sound through their career while others wanted to go the exact same way as dezert and take a more pop rock-sounding direction. DAMY's sound had showed that conflict for some time now. That's just my theory though and it could very well not have been what was happening at all. Either way, it sucks that their last release will freeze time for them as a representation of this musical conflict and couldn't be as memorable as some of their earlier work. I still like Jigokuchuu as a piece of music, but not for the reasons I liked DAMY. Also if I remember correctly wasn't their drummer Miharu and actual roadie for Dezert?

As much as I want to believe it won't happen, I have a bad feeling that Mirai will leave the band. The way they announced his hiatus didn't sound optimistic. Funny enough I think someone put in the prediction thread that they think Mamireta will lose a member. I really hope that doesn't happen though since he's my favorite member. I agree that they need to slow down though.

Okay, I spoke too soon. I really like the single. The second song is definitely the most solid, but I like the entire release. Even the title track has grown on me after 3-4 listens. It's not as good as Itadakimasu/ Kiseki ni Iru / Kikika.Ikai, but I still like it.

That sounded solid. I'm hyped.

I like it.

Any time a bandman dies for undisclosed reasons, I immediately think they must have overdosed. I know that's a horrible thing to think of when someone just died, but it's always the first place my mind goes. I'm also convinced that I'm probably right like 75% of the time.
