In HS I had one friend who loved X Japan, one was a metal head and loved stuff like BFMV and kinda liked the GazettE and the other who was more grunge liked the pillows. Everyone else thought it was Chinese rather than Japanese. Now, nearly 30, those friends are long gone, and the only person I talk to on a regular basis doesn't care about that sort of thing as that's not what we bond over. I've always been a loner and it's very much true that as the older you get it's harder to form new friendships, but over time you get used to not having friends and those you do you tend to only initiate when you have something to tell them, otherwise you just let them contact you first which means that you could go anywhere from a week to a month or more without speaking.

I agree with this so much.

I grew apart from my old friend circle and is finding it difficult to make new friends who align with who I am now. Sighs

I attended his 1st performance at the Kraine Theater in New York. It was super chill and filled w/ primarily non-overseas fans.

Thanks for answering. I was curious about the atmosphere and how full the venue was.

I missed Morrie all three times lol

Hopefully they will open tickets up to foreign fans or I will eat my tears. Literally.

I will walk together to future not promised.

It keeps walking together, to future in which you are...

Pretty much what I was thinking. My first time hearing it I thought he said something else and I don't even want to tell you what I thought he said 😂

Something that surprised me about the concert is that it is a lot shorter than I expected. 90 minutes is a generous estimate. I was expecting a 2 hour show honestly. It isn't a stretch to say that those fans who came dressed to slay spent more time on their outfit than they did in the concert hall. I probably spent equal amounts of time in the theater and outside of the theater on line.

My thoughts exactly. A very quick show, I guess you could say I was expecting more.

Hmm, I'd say they had comparable performances in terms of length, but I had to leave early so I'm not 100% sure. I do know his entire setlist for the show though: Fake Divine, After Light, Inside of Me, Out, Don't Hold Back, Zipang, Who's Gonna Save Us, Underworld, Another Moment, Sick, Mad Qualia, and Ordinary World.

    Thank you!

Saw Hyde and Wagakki Band at the Playstation Theater yesterday. I'm so very pleased! Both Hyde and Suzuhana had even stronger voices in person, gosh I could listen to them into forever. Had to leave early to catch the bus home sadly but I'm still so happy to have heard Hyde in person. I missed L'arc~en~Ciel when they came to Otakon over a decade ago so it is wonderful to see Hyde perform finally. :) And really loved how Wagakki Band had such a range to them, not easy to somehow show off the amazing talent for each of their eight members but they did so beautifully.

I didn't get to go but can you give me an idea of what was Hyde's set list and how long his performance was compared to Wagakki band?

I hope her former stans are already sending in the t-shirts x

    Omg 😂

I think it was kinda obvious that she was a normal girl. If you follow her she talks about wanting to change styles like mori girl and saying she wants to wear dresses. I wonder if she will maintain her popularity among girls.

  8. For me it would be Royz and Mejibray. I listened to them and was not impressed and I think I read something about a Royz member that turned me off from them but can't remember what.

Well they were immensely popular in the west during 2004-2006, and started to wane a bit during their sound change around 2008 or so.

I can confirm they have fallen off the map here in 2019, so I wouldn't be surprised if they call it quits after the best of album they are releasing.

I have no band that I can't stand anymore. It used to be Mejibray but prayers were answered lol.

Yeah A9 fell off after they started to shed their visual kei image. I think they're independent again which was kinda encouraging since becoming major somehow made them become so bland. Haven't listened to any of their recent stuff lately but might check out their best of album.

Alice Nine. I have hated Shou forever, he can't sing and sounds like a dying seal. Also anything with Kisaki in it, he's such a jerk.

It's true that Shou can't sing but I do enjoy the overall melody of the band. 😂

Show was good, little too much bass but can't complain overall. Crowd was a little much haha.

Next time I'll be sitting down and enjoying the show from afar.

    Merch line was crazy though.

Yeah that was the idea I had. I was in the back enjoying the show and sitting down at times. Normally I like to be in the action but I feel like I made the right decision staying by the seats. The merch line was insane and I heard they sold out of certain items before the show was over.

I see you're from New York. I take it you went to see the GazettE a couple days ago?

I saw a lot of people there so I wouldn't have spotted you, but if you were in the VIP line maybe you saw me? I was the guy in a denim shirt still wearing sunglasses haha.

    Anways, welcome to the forum.

Say hello to us regulars sometime!

Hi YuyoDrift, I was there! But I wasn't in the VIP line so I definitely would not have seen you.

What did you think of the show?

And thanks for the welcome ☺️
