Pretsy got a reaction from Ito in Music and Memories
Kinda interesting to read some positive memories in the midst of bittersweet drama related to your "flashback" hits and stuff. Seems like I am the only one who has experienced only passive breakup...
I am being subtle about my memory-related song and post a link to it:
http://vimeo.com/69100984
This song has cheered me up when I was either down or just plainly pissed off for something (it still does ) I can remember myself jamming along to this hit as a kiddio when I had no chance to hang around with friends during new year's eve....
(In terms of PV, I didn't give any symbolic meaning to it when I was younger (except that I took Ken's look there as a "main principle" of my must-looks.../metrosexual issues)
BUT now that I've mustered some good and bad experience, I might say that PV above represented certain phases (as PV shows, negative ones) that I had to go through in my lifetime - it helped me to judge and think over my deeds alot, so yeah, a helpful song in both ways. I am sorry for railing with such off-topic things, lel.)

I bet it's like this one (considering they have played it alot during AQA too)
Also, this guy summed up things about differences in between Mazy and Insticnt gigs:
http://decayedkyo.tumblr.com/post/64024354735/fuck-yes-tonight-was-fun-that-concert-kicked
Just as most guessed here - Mazy = Theatric stuff / Instict = "raw" performance

Pretsy got a reaction from hyura in -THE- Song
I remember when everyone got nutso over "Alkaloid Showcase" - or it's just me remembering these vk things wrong.
Also, in terms of Kuroyume a little fact-related detail below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKmG1tonhS8
Okay, kotekote-enthusiasts and internet fame aside, THIS SONG RIGHT HERE is Kuroyume's most well-received and *overplayed* song for decades and so on. Also fun-fact: one of the standard "high school band" songs, yes.
(just ask Japanese people about that, the hell they know anything about FOOODIAAAA or "Romance of Scarlet" in general)
also, another successful, well-received one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmJWy79bp1g
(bluntly put, "punk" Kuroyume was much more well-received than AISMAIRAIF/FOODIAA/DESSUMASK-Kuroyume in general - ignore the whole "internet popularity" BS )
In terms of Luna Sea, I think "I For You" is THE song in their case too. Why? Most mainstream listeners apply the band to that drama OST snoozefest + how many people are still remembering it, lmao.
"DRINK IT DOWN as THE song" -claim is totally blatant, failed attempt at trolling, and a big insult to L'arc - enthusiast like me. But yeah, gotta only shrug - whatever floats your boat, mate!

Pretsy got a reaction from Biopanda in DEAD END Tribute -SONG OF LUNATICS-
Instead of having a decent review thread, we are left to cope with degbox troll's views on how bad are "ojiisans" nowadays? Geez.
Either way, the release itself was okay - Aki's cover was kind of funny, considering that heavy metal guitars and his vocals don't really go well but SERAFINE, Blind Boy project, The Godsend and I Can Hear the Rain were quite cool.
We have a very good tribute album for a long time, finally

Pretsy reacted to Umi_Niwa in Jrock & Visual Kei PVs
^ I love that song xD The pv is kinda predictable, although the colors are nice indeed.
Here are two more pvs I like. Not Visual-Kei though. These are by Acidman.
http://youtu.be/6X8OiZgOCQo
I was quite moved by this one, I think it makes even stronger impact with the song being instrumental.

Love the song and the desert village setting (I'm assuming it was shot somewhere in Morocco).

Pretsy reacted to Eraser in the GazettE New Single, New DVD & New Album
Sounds good, but this is their first song where the female vocal is actually irritate me a bit. Maybe I'll get used to it, but it seems a little pointless (especially in the chorus, which sounds awesome otherwise).

Pretsy got a reaction from Augie1995 in the GazettE New Single, New DVD & New Album
also adding to your DEG post: Rinkaku had a nod/reference to KR Cube ("Onisan kochira..."-part in the end) and no one whined about "lack of lyrical originality"
I mean, I don't get the negative fuss about "nod" to older songs - especially if you are making a nod to GOOD songs (CALM ENVY, that is, very underrated btw)

Pretsy got a reaction from Umi_Niwa in Timeless looks
Axl Rose-like look (aka bandanna with long hair aside + jewelry/crosses/bracelets + shirtless) appreciation post:
(since I can't look for certain pics I will post videos AND pics through which you can check these looks)
Hiroshi Kyono (The Mad Capsule Markets) - 1993/1994-ish
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UVpC6KLq8Q
Kiyoharu Mori (Kuroyume) - 1997
Hakuei (Penicillin) - 1998 (almost close, he did perform without that sleeveless jacket though)
Gara (Merry) - 2009 (sort of close to looks above)
If you have more similar looks like that (especially from 2000 and so on), then go ahead and reply

@hyura: I think Das:Vasser's vocalist had same-ish look, if I remember correctly :/

Pretsy got a reaction from Delkmiroph in Plastic Tree new maxi single "瞳孔(doukou)" release
Something in that new look says to me that they will go back to their 90s sound even further.
I mean, Ink itself had some "Old School Pura"-ish tracks, right?

@hyura:
http://www.visualtrap.co.jp/vt/home001.html here's a list of VISUAL TRAP's works, seems like they started in 1995-1996-ish?
Oh and yes, Kuroyume
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST-go57ut_0 (1994, btw)
I dig this PV's style, autobiographic-like or so. Matches well with song's "unwilling" theme.

Pretsy got a reaction from Number Girl in DEAD END tribute album release
Lol I half-expected Kiyoharu and Hyde to appear there when I read the title. Ryuichi Kawamura should be there too tbqh, and Atsushi (considering they're friends, amirite, no?)

Pretsy got a reaction from nekkichi in 黒夢(kuroyume) live-limited single "KINGDOM" release
@Jigsaw: lol same - Don't get me wrong tho, I'm a huge Kiyoharu stan but dear god Kuroyume's stuff is going downhill if Kiyoharu tries to dabble with "street cred" music. Interesting to see Hitokers contributing lyrics tho.
@nekkichi: they will release a new album this autumn called "Kuro to kage" which MIGHT be their last (rumors)" so yeah probably a teaser...
The main song's title is very Kiyoharu-like, btw

Not bad! Eventhough my feelings towards post-reunion Kuroyume can be summed up with that 2nd song title pretty accurately. xD

Pretsy got a reaction from nekkichi in MIYAVI - MIYAVI
MIYAVI - S/T
Back when I listened to Miyaviuta (sister album to MYV POPs?), I thought he was certainly -original- on some kind of level vk-wise...
By comparing S/T and Miyaviuta in this case ( Kavki Boiz album is okay, WNM was plain bad while Samurai Sessions had WMN ideas done RIGHT), you could hear how big is the loss of Miyavi's original sound - compressing of guitar playing into plain, same-riff slapping and drowning it with "Pitbull"-pop /mediocre club music resulted in THIS...wow.
Everything sounds like a huge mess of same slapping scattered throughout with cheesy dance BGM and lyrics by the courtesy of Dan Priddy (google him) - MYV, you shouldn't have really left concepts you dabbled with in Miyaviuta/MYV POPS and Kavki Boiz album. We know you really want to gather new audience by "expanding" your genre pool into the West. But lemme give you a tip: you cannot hide your dried-out guitar-slapping ideas with all this "catchy dance pop". It's not your thing, really. Even your "colleagues" (say, L'arc or Utada for instance) know better which western "novelties" they can utilize in their own music.
AHEAD OF THE LIGHT was sort of a decent, passable track (okay, was in my top 10 of 2013 and everything but I couldn't come up with better stuff - it didn't ooze with "bad" pop tho)...and then "Secret" pops out. I am not surprised if MYV desperately hired Timbaland with his last collab pennies just to produce this exact piece of "something I could've heard in Justin Timberlake record" - and to repeat myself, same key guitar-slapping in a different tuning doesn't save MYV from the low levels of "generic" I sense in this gorgeous "ripoff".
You can apply my views on his "new sound" to "Horizon" and other songs as well.
All in all, listening to "MIYAVI" was such a pain in the butt, and I can't come up with any better statement about his music (nothing personal though, MYV fans):
MYV, you are not the "Michael Jackson of guitar playing", but just another Pitbull-copycat...with a guitar.
4/10. Ouch.

Pretsy got a reaction from DeithX252 in Popular/Legendary/Respected Japanese bands that you've NEVER listened to...(and probably should)
"Sports" and "Adult" are the best ones - the latter one is a big must for TJ newcomers.
Also, I seem to spot certain mentions of Kuroyume, and recommendations in terms of them depend on listeners' taste:
1) Mayoeru Yuritachi -Romance of Scarlet- had its place in "top 10 old school vkei albums everyone tries first" and for plain reasons - the concept itself is very...say, visual kei (as in post-punk visual kei) and interesting.
If you want to get familiar with old school, get this
2) If you are not really willing to clash with "old school extravaganza" and you want some casual vk (which is less "vk" than vk back then, sounds about right, huh?) a la SID, then try their poppiest record to date - Feminism. It has its vk sound compressed to more radio-friendlier, romantic version.
PS. don't try the successor to Feminism though, it's sort of a "culture shock" to those who are trying to go with Kuroyume's notorious "vk sound"...nor should you not try any punk-related records (except if you become a stan)
