Shin and Kiyoharu were always inbetween lukewarm and quite cold relationships when it comes to songwriting procedures so it's given that such tasty gossipy news would eventually unearth early beef between them (especially the record of Shin's credits being left unmentioned on Feminism - and yes, he was still present around demo sessions of that album). Not even fanbase-forced pictures of Shin being uncomfortably stuck together with Kiyoharu + Hitoki in a couple of "reunion" pics would debunk this astounding reality. Makes you wonder that why Kiyoharu INTENTIONALLY left Shin out when Kuroyume (reunited) went off for their 1992-1993 revival tour, huh? Normally most bands would bring in former members for a short while but he didn't!

To be honest, I wasn't really always fond of this format but to come into possible consensus with our community, I personally think that this so-called "Tumblr format" (which is given since most of us seemed to escape chat/active posting premises and delved into the jolly world of tumblr instead) may be one of the few options when it comes to conveying "bright, expressive" views on certain product instead of emulating aspiring reviewer journo formats in their dry, lethargic glory from Sputnikmusic circles or w/e you can come up with. We are not supposed to play professionals' game here - we are different peeps of different hobbyist degrees so there should not be any given "expectation" for us in all honesty. Ironically enough I resonate better with the latter group I noted but understand...we are given *widely acceptable* freedoms to choose any review format really. It's of course good to see enthusiasm and so on but as with most members, I could only wish for audible progression instead of having to witness the Foo Fighters of Japancore, to put it bluntly (get the reference).

I sometimes wonder whether the claim of people being logged @campus or public networks for torrenting from take say, Russian or Ukrainian torrent servers around certain strictly regulated ASEAN countries is just a troll myth or actual warning...at least when it comes to people practicing this kind of art and practice actively like ME (I feel so hollow without downloading anything for a while). Can anyone from those areas I mentioned help me out and cite any other tips aside from "hurr, buy a VPN" (since I am not really set with safe and worthy purchases of truly high-quality VPNs yet, I am just your good ol' slowpoke)? Edit: fortunately enough I've got no record of mediafire/direct download portals being logged yet so MH downloads COULD be safe...for now around here.
  4. The low-fi snippet of "Michi" (the first track?) off twitter: Considering that those who managed to listen to the whole radio version confirmed the track to be the kind of "what if Deep River leftover was played during HEART STATION sessions", I might just mention @The MAD Stallionand @CAT5 here (since you dig the former era in question a lot btw)

As much as this would sound lulzy though, the reality is that there should be more added up since he had 4 different Kuroyumes to be sold, and at least one or two in the middle (Kuroyume circa late '94-96 and early punk Kuroyume) had tons of revenue gathered up to this day too (i.e. they are really valuable compared to flopping in later stages or so-so figures during early days). But we still gotta wait and see (also calling for @Uglymouth to see if anything was said about early Kuroyume trademarks a la RoS-era being up for bidding too in nihongo) Speaking of which - ONLY NOW he got himself into huge probs? This man has managed to stay far away from scandals even after low-key admitting drug abuse ventures (which is deemed to be REALLY bad and career-killing, e.g. Laruku's Sakura case, when we speak of Japanese music industry)
  6. Pretsy

Jesus christ No wonder Hitoki cut off his associations to Kuroyume as of their disbandment - guess he didn't wanna be a part of Kiyoharu's mess...
  7. Yeah this is really weird song setting (I thought of those cheery songs akin to Fourth Avenue Cafe for some reason) for RE sequel like this lmao.

Midori: Jazz/classical piano music lessons gone wrong by courtesy of Japanese schoolgirl "in her flowers" and her punk misfit friends. Fishmans: S P A C E dub music as interpreted by a stoned guy doing his best dying cat imitations The Pillows: "Hey do you know that Japanese Weezer band from FLCL?" Gesu no Kiwami Otome: emo pop songs about my sidechicks: the soundtrack feat. cutie-patootie drummer Yapoos: imagine if The Pop Group was fronted instead by the kind of unpredictable schoolgirl weirdo, with whom you wouldn't necessarily share the same seat
  9. Update: 1. Ringo Shiina + Tokyo Jihen 2. Happy End 3. Boredoms and affiliated acts (ROVO, OOIOO etc.) 4. Cornelius 5. Ling Tosite Sigure 6. Melt-Banana 7. Maaya Sakamoto (pop/rock?) 8. JUDY AND MARY 9. Sigh 10. Cinema Staff Guess that's in order - and what a surprise, Ringo again! (to be frank her SUNNY era is not really inferior to Ling's sellout era)

Just as @doomboxalready mentioned, he had a "heavy hand" in helping MUCC to churn out most of Kyuutai efforts - including the otherwise good leftover "Freesia" (gee you wondered why they premiered it so early?). Make sure to listen to his cover of "Fuyuu" on YT and notice his influence there... edit:

You are spot-on with your prediction for the tribute cast but say, Giru members can be still always involved though? You have Satoshi's yet-silent side-project and who knows whether Ryo will hop in to do some cool stuff...
  12. Pretsy

My guess is that any Kyuutai song would be most likely handled by old DC geezers i.e. maybe the producer of Kyuutai a.k.a Ken of L'Arc~en~Ciel? Or having a full circle and involving Hyde too? I couldn't imagine older artists being out of place really now that I mentioned it.
  13. Pretsy

If "tribute" means we will get various acts covering MUCC songs, we can also question the possible selection of artists involved in case that happens - small Danger Crue names with some other possible indie vk names? Their fellow bands? "Senpais"? I am intrigued.
  14. Considering how widely popular 0 and 0% (respectively) are among underground internet "patricians" (OUTSIDE of J-music fanbase) and other kinds of music hipsters, this better make her even less obscure than ever. I bet your bodies are not ready yet for this, /mu/.

Whenever I feel like taking a lulzy piss at some people for thinking that doing your ol' shit for like many albums in a row is a good thing...I suppose showing this is enough. Ever stumbled upon these fast-food chain knockoffs like grill kiosks and similar on your way back home? This is the musical equivalent. There were a lot of chances they had in branching out and further after IBIM but noooooope.

BMTH's fancy outdoors park gig for like 70 euros in my homeland currency (and during my recess week) seems to be a lot for my current attention and interest span...when it comes to their current output. Yikes.
  17. Pretsy

Technically that's a possibility since Kaoru already said back then that the album was supposed to be in its way during the last quarter of this year...which on the other hand means that we either get a December release (usual end-of-the-year releases akin to UROBOROS, ARCHE, MACABRE, VULGAR) or Q1 of 2017 release (Kisou, WtD, MOAB) to commemorate the 20th anniversary of band's constant/current lineup (Feb 2 for instance). All in all, playing new songs during DSS tour makes more sense and I am pretty sure that there will be enough inbetween these 3-4 months for another possible single in case we don't wanna see this "2 singles per album" tradition being changed whatsoever.

I think we have been aware for a long time enough that Kyo in reality lives a very low-key but rather socially stable life (avec most probably fine relationship w/ his bae) and that all of this edgelordiness is just one of his main "masking" antics so to speak. Of course, the fact about their anything-but-mutual songwriting habits still stands but they are pretty much healthy 30-40 year old chaps just like with most not-so-public rockstars.

I will revamp this exact similarity/definitely likely case of plagiarism because there's something very LedZeppish in terms of credits (ha!): This exact enka (?) piece by Ichiro Fujiyama (?) from many decades back has been actually HEAVILY SAMPLED/IMPLEMENTED as an overall theme to one of Dir en grey's "remixes" - WITHOUT any credits nor specific royalties aimed towards Fujiyama family - and this is way too obvious I tell you. @Zeuswould definitely love to take this into account in case he decides to work on the next edition of "six similar..."-thread along with that very funny but cute Prince reference/tribute on one of the "latest" Carrygarry tracks (Thanks @Disposable for that btw)
  20. Why is still tagged as "visual kei" though? Yeah yeah, "once VK, always VK" as @Biopandawould say but at this point I see no sense in naming them as such when they've not been promoted by VK outlets (more or less by indie outlets instead)? Or is this another case of Lynch-istic VK dilemma? Also, whoever frequents their lives or knows such people: do they attract big masses lately or has it been stagnating instead?

Cracked, Buzzfeed, Gawker and The Cuck (oh yes, Gawker's new webmag for men...are you really serious, numales?) are pretty much all that same gray, irrelevant millenial mass to me. So what was the fuss again? One anonymous person exaggerating stories and getting most prolly some nice bucks for (sub)consciously shitting on sanely thinking VK fans? "One pax source = tr00 af by ALL means" has truly become the new dimension of so-called "journo investigation" - or let's name it correctly, "yellow sensationalist journalism". I mean holy heck - I would never think that we give these numales and other easily offended but hypocrite millenials a huge-ass limelight/spotlight for further shitposting. As it was said above - as much as certain tsunagari/mitsu episodes may sound pretty funny, no scene in any genre is filled with roses, flowers and bees - there's a lot of dirt in all of them and exploiting dirt in this kind of "Goddamnit Japan" fashion just double-standardizes the millenial concept of prejudice/racism/xenophobia (i.e. "I am allowed to trash any (sub)culture I deem to be odd to me whereas others should not question me!!1!") even further. I wish I would get the humor here but jesus christ, this guy seems to be too much of that typical Gawker journo type I really loathe (thank god for Hulkster showing that these journo offsprings don't mean a heck in this world). edit: so it wasn't a guy but well...all the same nonetheless, feminist/numale sympathies.

Another rant but jesus christ I hate my home uni right now (didn't like much before but escalation was inevitable)- with delaying and literal "I dun giv fuq your on ur own" shit I have seen enough right now. Seriously considering splitting away next year before I destroy my sanity over this idiotic staff layoff vs student needs-BS Literally christfuck.
  24. Pretsy

To be honest - yes sure, it definitely is not the first song that keeps popping up in my mind whenever I think of DSS (first ones would be Dreambox and Beelzebub funnily enough) , but if I were to redefine the build of DSS in order to define what would be its "theme" to me, Shitataru would be definitely present over there - there's so much ambiguity (mind the title translation) and I could even imagine this slowly approaching ("trickling") tornado-like, unsettling danger (creature, natural event) as the embodiment of this track - whereas most tracks on DSS usually lean on being genderbending for the sake of being ~genderbending~.
