The Novembers is the only band I've heard off that list and I'm not sure if it was that song, but they were pretty good and I should probably give them another listen when I'm in one of those moods to look for new music. Fucking groupies is basically the norm in any rock music scene, so it's pretty ridiculous that there's so much overwhelming opposition when these band guys, who are btw making themselves as sexually appealing to the women in their audience as possible, are actually fucking the women in their audience. Like maybe I am missing the point, but isn't that kind of the point? I love visual kei, but hell if I'll ever understand it...

I don't have any gossip to share here, but just kind of wondering something about kusomen in general. Where would you draw the line between regular band guy stuff (promiscuous with fans, dumb drunk stuff) and going into kusomen territory? When it starts having negative consequences to the band's success? or something else?

Muen was the first song I heard by them and what really got me into them, so I also wish they had more stuff with the same kind of sound. I guess Kikei kind of has a similar sound, which is also a song I really like. Unfortunately, Hikaru wrote Muen and he only composed a few of their songs. I wish he composed more.

So many old kote sites I loved are gone now, so I really appreciate this site.

1: Do you buy multiple versions of releases, or buy at all? I buy when I can, which isn't often. The only band whose releases I'm currently buying as they come out are The Gallo. I don't buy multiple versions of releases. 2: Do you collect cheki or other non-music related items from bands? No. I'm not interested in cheki, flyers, or shirts. Just CDs are fine. 3: Follow them on Ameblo, Twitter? I follow a lot of people on Twitter, but I only have notifications set up for The Gallo 4: Would you follow them on the street? Ew never. Visual kei definitely is my fashion style and has been for a very long time. 7: Desire to move or visit Japan influenced by music? I have a desire to visit and go to lives, but I've never been there, so it would be hard to say whether I'd want to live there. 8: Do you read dirt-sheets of bands, like rumours, gossip, etc...? No. I don't really care. Adults having consensual sex with other adults isn't really a "juicy" topic for me. I find the whole visual kei gossip fixation to be overwhelming and tacky. I look at it sometimes if I'm bored, but it's not something I keep up with. I try not to project my own values on band guys, so it would take a lot to shock me and change my opinion of someone, anyway. They'd have to do something really bad. 9: Ever fantasize about being friends with band members? Yeah but not like sexy fantasies. It's more like "I'd have a beer with them" I guess. 10: Do you want to be in a Visual Kei band (or any other kind of band)? I am not musically talented.

It's not really important to me what my username is, as long as I don't think it sounds stupid. I usually just go with a song title or something related to whatever I'm into at the time, so I've had a lot of different usernames. I don't overly bother with staying consistent or keeping a name, since I'm not known enough for it to be "my brand"

Lyrics aren't really important to me. Sometimes I'll look up a translation if for some reason I just want to know what a song is about, but that doesn't really impact how I enjoy the song. My impression of the song will be made from listening to it, without understanding the lyrics. Because of that, my mind is already made up and lyrics aren't gonna make or break it for me. It may be worth noting that Japanese isn't the only language I don't speak that I listen to music in. Interestingly enough, when I do listen to music in English, out of habit I don't really tune into the lyrics. Even though I can understand them, I'm not used to paying attention to that.

I never listened to Adams (it's been on my to-do list forever) but his wife's post is heartbreaking.

I don't know what health problems Raku has, but I hope he gets better. I really like Lilith and am looking forward to the new album.

Your complaint is nothing new. I've had similar thoughts about vk and other things and it's usually that: The thing is a nostalgia thing, so getting into new stuff just doesn't feel the same (bands/artists I used to follow and lost track of, trying to watch new Disney movies as an adult, etc...) I'm having bad luck and just trying the wrong songs/bands I'm going in with a bad mindset, determined that I won't like it and that something has to "prove me wrong" in order to get a fair chance I legitimately am not into something (but that doesn't make it bad!) I've been listening to visual kei for a while and like a fair amount of older stuff, but I also listen to a lot of new visual kei as well. Since I don't know you or what you like, it would be hard for me to make recommendations. I can say that there are plenty of new bands I do like and plenty that I don't, but also that I feel the same way about older visual kei bands. Also, indies bands now that you just don't get or consider generic may just be having their 5 minutes of fame and will fade into complete obscurity, just like many old indies bands you're probably not counting in your bias towards older vk. I've also taken a break from vk and gone to branch out into different scenes/genres when I start feeling bored, then get bored of those, then come back and see what's new with vk. I think that's pretty normal and healthy, anyway.
