If Followers sounds like anything it’s Behind a Vacant Image. But Ruten no Tou?
  2. Saishu

That’s one of the Arche tracks that doesn’t translate live very well though.

http://kyotakumrau.tumblr.com/post/178871739862/shinya-instagram-20181008-weve-finished-the Jeezus, Shinya... name of the tour should be “Where’s The Human Skin?”

It’s those silhouetted shots of the band playing that make that PV great. I like the Uroko PV for a similar reason. I love the shots of each band member playing in those boxes. Glass Skin and Lotus are cool (is Glass Skin on a PV collection? I feel like it isn’t...) oh yeah, I like the flesh eating bug theme of Hageshisa.

I think it’s the Family Values dvd where he appears for an interview, but I don’t think he said a word. That dvd is embarrassing by the way. There are performances of Kodoku ni Shish and Dead Tree, and at the start of each song there’s a huge roar from the crowd that’s dubbed in. My bad, it’s IIID Empire, not Dead Tree. That is one even funnier because Kyo doesn’t sing the “kokkahanei” part as if the dumbfounded 30 people in the audience are going to.
  6. Saishu

But Kyo-sama fucking hates touring overseas.

So strange that the actual tour for Insulated World isn’t until next year.

Honestly, I’m not going to say I have a well trained ear, but it’s trained enough that when I first got an iPod and started ripping CDs, I noticed a drop in sound quality. It wasn’t until years later that I learned Apple had its own lossless format (ALAC) and I was able to change it in the settings. I deleted my entire library and started ripping CDs again ALAC. I’m not able to have as many songs on my iPod as I did before due to the larger file sizes, but it’s been worth it. You lose a lot of subtle more atmospheric sounds with lossy files, but I know the average listener isn’t going to pay much attention to that sort of thing. Perfect example: the ambient noise in the beginning of Tousei became a lot clearer once I re-ripped Arche in ALAC. Before that I wasn’t really hearing it until it got louder right before the guitar comes in. And I don’t settle for cheap headphones, which is why I’m so pissed off that I have to settle for these awful Apple buds until my new Sennheisers come in tomorrow. Does Apple’s wireless buds sound like these too? Considering how much they cost I would hope not.

Missa, Six Ugly, and Vulgar are the only DEG albums I don’t have first prints of. Was going to seek them out but they don’t seem worth it.

Europe is being thrown a bone and getting Kigan as a bonus track, lol. I bought the physical blu-ray edition as well as the iTunes download. Supporting these fuckers in two countries. Which reminds me I should get Chedoara off iTunes as well.

Why are we assuming my car has a garbage quality system? And I typically use Sennhieser earbuds, but they broke so I was stuck with the stock Apple buds and the album sounded like trash again. And that was listening to my lossless CD rip. I said it before, the introduction of selling lossy files and providing the listener with low quality earbuds paved the way for artists mixing their albums too “hot” in order to compensate for the loss of sound quality.
  12. Yeah, they’ve been changing members since the beginning. It’s a revolving door of artists like Nine Inch Nails. As for their output, I would imagine touring and recording with DEG affected Die’s ability to invest the time.
  13. Saishu

Because last I remember iTunes had 256kbps files. Still fairly high quality, but it’s not CD quality.
  14. No one saw the sarcasm in this?
  15. Saishu

I’m going to make a Worst DEG Songs playlist.
  16. Saishu

But it’s still a shitty album song!
  17. Saishu

Shit, yeah. That song is a huge stain on Vulgar.
  18. Saishu

Was gonna say S or Erode, but those are forgettable, not necessarily bad. Foocha Family is awful.
  19. Saishu

I think DEG are labeled experimental by the fans that want to keep the band on this extremely high pedestal of untouched creativity. MUCC are notorious genre hoppers, but I don’t recall anyone slapping the experimental label on them.
  20. Saishu

Maybe. Jens Bogren was probably around during the remastering process and they kept him on board for those three. I keep forgetting who mixed the Vestige remakes.
  21. Saishu

I still can’t get over getting an entirely different dude to mix the three remakes. Though it’s probably likely that they weren’t recorded during the same session.
  22. Saishu

I’m pretty much cool with the entire album now, but today I was forced into using a pair of stock Apple earbuds because my other pair stopped working, and the album sounded like shit again. How the fuck are people listening to music on those things?
  23. Saishu

Kaoru is purple and Toshiya is blue.
  24. Saishu

I’ve considered it. No one is going to miss FOOCHA FAMILY.
