That's sad news, but at least they will be continuing!

Welcome to MH! I was gonna say, 62 posts for someone brand new! Wow! Then I looked again and saw you said you had been here off an on for a while! I think MH is one of the best forums I've found. I've messed with others like Sputnik Music and Harmony Central, you know, ones that are less genre specific, and they tend to be filled with trash-talking with no moderation. MH is much more fun to be in and well-run. I think you'll like it!

That does look cool! And LOL at that guy...is that a Fist of the North Star poster on his wall?

Last movie I saw was Escape Plan. I always love a good action movie. I feel like Arnold/Stallone style movies are hard to come by now. Or maybe its the lack of action stars of this calibre.

Welcome John! Cool video too

Sidonia sounds right up my alley. Gotta check it out, thanks for the recommendation!

I've started watching Ranma 1/2 again. It's definitely one of my favourites. I want to re-watch all the ones I grew up with, like Project A-KO and Moldiver.

Welcome owl! It's a good time here in MH land

That's correct, I don't have either of them. I'm kinda on the fence because the Vita appeals to me for the portability, but it would be really awesome to play it on a big tv. Keep in mind that this game is literally the only reason I would be buying a PS3. I'm kinda gravitating toward the Vita because I have never used one. I used to have a PS3 a couple years ago, and I have an Xbox 360 still, so yeah. There's something very appealing as well about the Vita, using it with headphones and just being totally immersed, and FFX has such a wonderful soundtrack. I have some time to consider though, I am visiting home in the US in July, so if I were to get a Vita I would do it there, since its less expensive than here in Norway

I just recently started dabbling in it, and finally fixed my artist page: http://www.last.fm/music/Vitne

For those of you playing or who have played FFX HD Remix, should I get a PS3 or a VITA to play it? I'm leaning towards PS3 for the 48" tv experience, but the headphones experience might be pretty awesome with the VITA...

Thanks for those ideas. I like em all, but right off the bat I'd say I like DEAD END and BUCK-TICK best. I gotta check out more I decided to do what I used to do when I bought CDs in a CD shop years ago. I would just buy randomly if the artwork was cool, or if a couple samples grabbed my attention. I bought Versailles' "Versailles" album and Jupiter's "Classical Element". I like Versailles a lot, and I need to listen to Jupiter more, but I like it so far. Also picked up NIGHTMARE's "SCUMS" album

Hey everyone, Could you recommend some VK artists to me? I tend to like the non-screaming bands () My favs are GACKT, X Japan, Versailles, and Luna Sea. I would prefer bands that have their music readily available on iTunes, etc. as well. Looking to expand my knowledge a bit! Thanks!

Bear, jeg bor i Vestby, men før det jeg bodde i Oslo. Velvet, I'm a big Gackt fan so maybe me saying yes give him another chance doesn't mean as much, haha. There are some of his songs I think are a bit weird, but I tend to like most. But some just ROCK like Lust for Blood...and Ghost

I tend to jump around a bit. Usually I will listen to both their newest and their earliest to see how the styles match up and which I immediately gravitate towards. If I like the earlier sound better right off the bat (for example), I will start exploring their earlier discography, and then I usually end up loving almost everything as I listen to them more.

I need to buy a PS3 so I can play FFX HD (unbelievably excited about that one). Currently I'm playing Titanfall. I am also planning on re-playing Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross on my OUYA since I don't have a PS anymore. Though I could get them on PS3 since I'm getting one for FFX HD

Of the newer visual kei bands Royz is one of the ones that immediately caught my attention. I first saw their video for NOAH, and I really liked it, but the "heavy" parts of that song are a bit strange. Really dig the solo part. Recently I checked out Lilia and I like it a lot!

Thanks everyone! My all-time favs are GACKT, X Japan, and Luna Sea. As for others, I like some of the stuff Royz is doing, for example. I'm not a big fan of a lot of screaming in any kind of music, but I'm a sucker for heavy stuff with great melody (Lust for Blood by GACKT is a great example)

Hello and Konnichiwa from Norway I've been a long-time fan of Japanese rock, and really many things Japan (I grew up playing tons of RPGs, starting with Final Fantasy 1 on NES). I'm a big GACKT fan as well as X Japan and Luna Sea. I'm a musician myself, and Japanese rock has been a major influence for me. I'm excited to join here because I've been listening to the same artists so long, I'm really eager to learn about new bands and artists I haven't heard yet.
