A German man castrated his teenage daughter's 57-year-old boyfriend because he disapproved of the relationship.

Helmut Seifert, 47, recruited work colleagues to help him carry out the attack at the boyfriend's house, the UK's Telegraph reported.

Seifer forced the boyfriend, Philip Genscher, to remove his trousers before cutting off his testicles with a bread knife.

Police said Seifert took the severed testicles away, while the victim was left bleeding on the floor.

Mr Genscher, who remained conscious throughout the ordeal, managed to call for help. He will recover from his injuries, but will remain a eunuch for life.

Seifert initially approached police in the town of Bielefeld to intervene in the relationship between his 17-year-old daughter and Mr Genscher.

But police told him they could not intervene.

This prompted Seifert to take the matter into his own hands.

"I received a phone call anonymously that my daughter was involved with a guy 40 years older than her. You said you couldn't stop him — so I did," Seifert reportedly said.

"I saw it as my duty as a father."

Seifert refused to name his accomplices and will stand trial next year on a charge of attempted murder.
