A Jacksonville mother charged with shaking her baby to death has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and could face a sentence life in prison in December.

Alexandra V. Tobias, 22, was arrested after the January death of 3-month-old Dylan Lee Edmondson.

She told investigators she became angry because the baby was crying while she was playing a computer game called FarmVille on the Facebook social-networking website.

She told investigators the baby cried loudly as she played the game, which prosecutor Richard Mantei identified as FarmVille, a simulation game in which players raise crops and livestock with the help of Facebook friends.

Police say during the first shaking, the baby's head may have hit the computer.

Tobias then put the baby on the couch and stepped out for a cigarette to regain her composure, the arrest report says.

When she came back in, the family dog knocked the baby off the couch. The crying started again and Tobias shook the baby a second time before calling for an ambulance, the arrest report says.

Tobias said little during her plea hearing, except to answer the standard line of questioning to ensure she knew what she was doing.

She told the judge she'd graduated from high school.

Court papers say she went to Samuel W. Wolfson Senior High School in Jacksonville.

The paperwork also said Tobias did not have a job.

The baby was rushed to the hospital around 10 a.m. on Jan. 19 and pronounced dead soon thereafter.

Tobias remains in the Duval County jail awaiting sentencing.

According to court records, her child abuse arrest violated a six-month probation she began serving just a few weeks before after pleading no contest to a domestic battery charge.

Tobias entered her plea Wednesday before Circuit Judge Adrian G. Soud. A second-degree murder charge is punishable by up to life in prison.

Mantei said Tobias' sentence could be less because of state guidelines that call for 25 to 50 years. Soud offered no promises on what he'll order during a sentencing hearing scheduled for December.

Outside the courtroom, Mantei said Tobias' plea will help avoid the family reliving the tragedy during a jury trial.

Tobias' arrest and booking report says she shook the baby twice before calling 911 when he stopped breathing.

That's really fucked up.

I'll admit babies can be frustrating, sometimes they'll cry a lot and you won't know what they want. And it's like everyday! But as much as they cry it doesn't make you want to shake them dead. This is fucked.

The girl is obviously disturbed. Just look into her 1 and a half eye. Totally looks like a baby shaker. I mean Farmville player.
