L'arc~en~ciel - new live dvd and cover tribute album

It has been learned that L'Arc-en-Ciel will be releasing a live best-of DVD under the title "LIVE TWENITY" on June 13th. This DVD will include 20 songs, which have been taken from various live performances and will certainly make a good addition to anyone's DVD collection. Moreover, it has been announced that a first tribute album FOR L'Arc-en-Ciel will be released at the same time. This album will include L'Arc-en-Ciel songs covered by a great number of overseas artists, such as BOYZ II MEN, JOHN5, ZEBRAHEAD and many more. With these artists' individual sounds, fans are sure to get curious about those versions of L'Arc-en-Ciel songs.

I would be super super excite for the DVD and would buy it for sure if my region free DVD player didn't break. If it gets released in America I'll be buying it for sure. As for the tribute album.... Boyz II Men? What?

Oh fuck. I would be excited for the tribute album if it actually made sense. It's sounding like they just paid some shitty western groups just to sound like 'HEY PPL THE AMURIKA GUYS ARE INFLUENCED BY US TOO'. I mean, Boyz II Men, seriously?

Oh lulz. The main tracklist for the cover tribute is just retarded. The only artists that remotely make sense are the bonus ones.

I really doubt Boyz II men ever heard of L'arc en ciel before this. Actually I didnt even know they still existed, lol. And they are ruining one of my L'arc favorites (awwww :()

At least there's Polysics giving me some lulz. Though Eric Martin's cover may actually be good.

EDIT: I never used to be so negative towards such things but this went out of bounds, completely.

EDIT2: Is the last song performed by Clémentine? (Since there might be many "Clementines" scattered around) If so, then that's prob the only song worth looking forward to

I think it's this Clémentine (she's associated with Sony Music Japan too, so might be her).

But yeah, really WTF/horrible tracklisting (except for SID and POLYSICS being there)... I guess they just hired some random foreigners for lots of $$$ to show how "influential" and "respected" Laruku is internationally (lol right). :lol:

Yeah, lots of $$$ on the trash can, because this tracklist is mostly composed of one hit wonders and people who were once famous... no one cares about these artists today though.

Siam shade did the same thing on their tribute album...

I'll probably end up listening to this out of obligation, but I think this is a terrible decision. Luna Sea's and Phantasmagoria's tribute albums made way more sense (and what I'm expecting is they'll be way better).

I have mild excitement for Orianthi though. Saw her live once, she was pretty good.

Disappointed there's was no John 5 there. Oh well, I got his new shredtastic solo album to satisfy myself with. And the non Japanese track list of artists is disappointing. Except for Orianthi of course.

That's not the same cover tribute album. That one has a different tracklist, with some unknown international artists.
