I like ONE OK ROCK, but something about MY FIRST STORY makes me cringe. I remember a writer for Sparkplugged jokingly describing them as "living the YOLO life" or something, and I think that really hit on the impression I get from them.

^Yeah, Miyaviuta~Dokusou~ is glorious. What's My Name?, on the other hand, is the album that made me stop listening to Miyavi for a while. Couldn't get into it at all.

There's definitely a lot of terrible Engrish out there, but, to be fair, there are still quite a few bands with vocalists that sing in perfect English, and many that aren't too far off. Ken Lloyd (Oblivion Dust, Fake?, Atom on Sphere) K (Pay money To my Pain) Takeshi Hosomi (ELLEGARDEN, the Hiatus) Taku Muramatsu (Nothing's Carved In Stone, Abstract Mash) + bands like coldrain, New Breed, HeavensDust, etc. I think AA='s English is pretty solid too, most of the time.

I know one song from DuelJewel, about two albums from MUCC and about 2/3 of BUCK-TICK's discography, but I don't know any of those specific songs... 1. The Lords of the New Church - Holy War 2. Beautiful Creatures - Superfly 3. Creature Creature - COSMOS BLACKNESS 4. POSSIBILITY - Chiisa na Kokoro 5. Lynch Mob - Tangled In the Web 6. BOOWY - Runaway Train 7. Lynch Mob - Rain 8. THE BACK HORN - 反撃の世代 9. V6 - Darling 10. Tiger Army - Twenty Flight Rock So-so list. I haven't even listened to a few of these yet. I was going to pick Rain, but Darling is just so amazingly fun and cheesy. I can't listen to it without smiling.

Glad to know it's actually "Damn baby don't you care that I'm puking all over you". I always thought I was mishearing that part.

No wonder Good Morning America never got anywhere as an emo band. This sounds just like an angsty teenager I saw busking outside the mall this summer.

Down, Asai Kenichi, Shiina Ringo and The Back Horn? Nice. The only song on that list I actually know is Temptation's Wings, though. 1. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Travelin' Band 2. Donnie Vie - Now ya know 3. Low-Cuts - A Day in Our Life 4. Skid Row - Makin' a Mess 5. Shania Twain - From This Moment On 6. KAT-TUN - Signal 7. Soulfly - Son Song 8. BOOWY - Rendez-Vous 9. THREE LIGHTS DOWN KINGS - We as living on the earth 10. Faith No More - Kindergarten From This Moment On is a classic wedding song, and it brings back lots of memories from my childhood. My sister and I used to sing it together on our karaoke machine.

Because she's on Warner and they usually post full versions of PVs? I think if she signed to another label you'd probably see just as many short versions or videos with making-of footage breaking up the song.

This is another really obvious choice, but I feel like this thread needs some Mr.Children.

Apparently most of my favourite GLAY ballads are from the early '00s. However is a classic, though.

The new Suck a Stew Dry and 04 Limited Sazabys songs are both really cute. It's nice to see the singer from Suck a Stew Dry looking so confident too. Seems like he's really cheered up a lot with the last few releases.

I'm feeling a little nostalgic, so I've been rewatching the Ranma 1/2 dub while I do various other things online. Kodachi Kuno's laugh is still one of the most glorious things I've ever heard.

Wow. Not only did they make an idol group called "Chubbiness" that appears to have very few actually chubby women in it (How are the ones in light green and purple even remotely chubby?), they made a video that shows them eating constantly and has one of the girls literally eating her own "tears".

I might actually buy this one. The price isn't that bad for a live DVD, although it's pretty short.

It might be different in some parts of the world, but the general trend of the visual kei and j-rock search stats looks about right for where I live. It definitely matches what's been happening at my local convention. I started going around 2006, and there used to be a bunch of J-rock/VK panels, but within the last few years it dropped to two (usually Dir en Grey and the Gazette), and then none at all. There were at least 10 K-pop panels this year. Interest from the anime crowd definitely doesn't seem to be anywhere near what it used to, and I'm sure that's where many of the more casual fans in the mid-00's came from.

Jerk pork > jerk chicken.

Child Prey is always fun to listen to. I like a few songs from Kagero as well, but I don't know that one. 1. SUGIZO - RISE 2. HITT - VIBRATO - My sentimental blues 3. KUROYUME - Ishi Hakujaku 4. ADAPTER. - Hajime no Ippo 5. Loretta Lynn - The Pill 6. Nine Inch Nails - Love is Not Enough 7. Tyla - Alright (I Will Always Love You) 8. THEATRE BROOK - Yume to Trauma 9. Missile Girl Scoot - Hype the Party Up 10. Spike & Tyla's Hot Knives - Starbucks So-so list this time. Going with SUGIZO, since I haven't heard that song in ages and I wanted to stop to listen to it.

Randomly found this on my computer while I was looking through a folder of icons. I miss watching Jun Kasai's matches. He always looks like he's having so much fun.

There's also a dansou idol group called Fudanjuku, and from what I've seen they're basically like what would happen if you mixed anime crossplayers with Kanjani8. The second one from the left is incredibly convincing, though.

I like the way he sings the verses, but the chorus and ending feel kind of dead to me. Might just be because I really hate that rough singing style with all the drawn out "uuuu"s - it reminds me of bad rock songs I heard on the radio growing up. His English is charming, though. I'd give it a 6.5. http://www.mediafire.com/listen/4j6h92zejz8cc0d/04+Kodoku+to+Rendezvous.mp3
