Oh please do upload this Where did you get it by the way?

Some fantastic bands you have on that list. Props for having Aim For The Sunrise as well, sucks they broke up.

I don't know what I would do without music as I have it playing almost 24/7. I'm a musician myself (drummer) so maybe that's what draws me into music so much. I lack a big emotional connection to a certain group like you have stated, but I do personally know a handful of local bands that have made it big if that counts.

Always have my music on my left monitor. I also hate icons and the taskbar being there, so that's all hidden. Really basic.

Definitely going with Opeth. 1. Parkway Drive - Boneyards 2. Her Name In Blood - We Refuse 3. As Oceans - Artifical Genesis 4. Saints Will Rise - Ashes 5. As I Lay Dying - Song 10 6. Life On Repeat - The Waiting Game 7. Nova Prospekt - Cylon 8. August Burns Red - Provision 9. Feed Her To The Sharks - Death's Design 10. 36 Crazyfists - The Deserter All bands outside of Japan except for HNIB this time around. Love Parkway Drive though, amazing metalcore from Australia.

All of this. I personally dont like physical CDs at all. I'm always a bit scared to buy an album from Japan since they cost so much, and I only have an idea of one/maybe two songs sound like on it. Like I said earlier, Japanese bands probably don't want to deal with the extra fees in the digital age, but every single band in America doesn't mind due to ease of access for all. I'm really supportive of digital downloads. I have 406 different artist's music, and only own four physical CDs (all which are imported from Japan because I couldn't buy them digitally). It took a while for digital music to be big in the US years and years ago, but it did. Who knows, years down the road we might see the same happen in Japan.

Infection's "The Armchair Theory" CD. Only a year after release , so late to the party.

So pumped for the new Translations song.

I'm more drifting this towards the metal[core]/hardcore genre, but this can apply to VK/Punk/JRock/whatever as well. I know in America most bands want to focus first and foremost on making sure their new album is available for digital download, whether that be on iTunes or Bandcamp. I'm aware the process for getting your music on iTunes is fairly difficult (as well as fees), but Bandcamp can easily be used anywhere across the world. So why do you think Japanese bands do not use these options for their Western fans, or for those who don't like importing? If you're a band, you know you have friends outside of your county so it's not like they think only people in Japan are going to listen to their music.

A Ghost of Flare's "ιΌε"

Found out about this band yesterday. EP sounds like its going to be amazing!

I believe my first experience with Japanese music was Girugamesh's "Music" album. I didn't know anything about music overseas at that point and was really turned off by the way they looked (VK). No offense to the genre or anyone on here, it's just not my thing. I loved the music though, but I drifted away from it since I thought all bands were like that. Some time later, it was either Crossfaith's "The Artificial Theory For The Dramatic Beauty" or Her Name In Blood's early demos that drew me back in, and forever in.

Oh man, thanks so much for the suggestions! Found some amazing bands in your lists. Already had a couple, but I can't any downloads for Hammerhead Shark's music and I can't find Infection's "The Armchair Theory" either Thanks a ton.

Arise In Stability is awesome. Can't wait for more material from them. Here's a list of all the bands I have from Japan, if anyone has any recommendations similar to these that are not listed, please do tell. Most of this is either metalcore/hardcore, so check a band out if you haven't heard of them and are on this list.

Already have all the stuff from Crossfaith, The Darkness of Lucifer, and Edge of Spirit. Don't really like Metal Safari since they're most towards just regular metal, not what I'm looking for. Haven't heard of Envy before, looked them up and YouTube and listened to "worn heels and the hands we hold", and that song is incredible. Listening to Recitation now.

Would love some recommendations for bands similar to these: A Ghost of Flare Before My Life Fails Crystal Lake Her Name In Blood LOST Sailing Before The Wind Translations Some good post-hardcore/metalcore. Breakdowns and all that jazz.

Discovered this website from a friend on Last.FM (add me as well, always looking for new music). You guys know some good music when you hear it. From America myself. I mainly listen to metalcore, post-hardcore, progressive [core], and djent. I also love bands that incorporate electronics in their music, especially dubstep, thought I'm not a fan of it by itself. Some of my most loved groups are from Japan, but I still do listen to a ton of American metal. Favorite bands are LOST, Translations, Each of the Days, Take Ambulance, and Her Name In Blood. Also venture into a bit of KPop. Can never have enough 4Minute. So nice to meet you all.
