Do as Infinity is pretty cool. The other ones don't ring a bell right now. 1. Fleshgod Apocalypse - Retrieving My Carcass 2. Phantasmagoria - Suicide Gemini 3. Outkast - Roses 4. ナイトメア - ジャイアニズム痛~生涯皆殺し~ 5. Cannabis Corpse - Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise 6. Chthonic - Onset Of Tragedy 7. Chingy - Pullin' Me Back 8. Eminem - Cold Wind Blows 9. Behemoth - Typhonian Soul Zodiack 10. Moi Dix Mois - Forbidden Couldn't make out a clear favourite, so I'd take 3 this time. Very strong, melodic Behemoth track (my favourite by far on Zos Kia Cultus).

I fairly enjoyed Avatar. It had an epic story, interesting characters and a marvellous fantasy world. Of course you could see at many points that it's a "western" anime .. most obviously from the totally ridiculous love story between an 11 year old and a 14 year old. But all in all it was captivating, although the comic relief was a bit overdone at some points. Now.. maybe I'm just too old for it, but when Korra started, there was absolutely nothing left of that. This quick modernization of the world has let the fantasy aspect fade away in most bits, the characters are annoying, boring or become useless and arbitrary to the story really quickly, and the setup (Republic City) felt way too restrictive and blunt. I got the feeling that the writers wanted to reach the female audience with this sequel, the love story elements went way overboard and at times it was just unbearable and tiring. I expected a fantasy epos, I got a soap opera. Also to set the story exposition like a crime series didn't really fit well into the "avatar" construct, and it was then where it became clear (most definitely in the 2nd season) which characters would be relevant - and which became mere decoration. Luckily in the 2nd season they tried to bring back the fantasy elements, and in most parts it actually worked. But at this point I don't have enough patience to get on with the 3rd season (which I haven't watched yet).

My favourites would be Ghouls actually :/ too bad they're not on it. So I'll go with werewolves. They're big and hairy and badass and I loved them in Skyrim. ANd I WILL love them in Witcher 3 !!!! I also loved how in Harry Potter 3 was made into such an eerie werewolf it was frightening to look at the first time I saw it.

I don't know what to say about their new look.. a new look again? Seriously if you don't want to be associated with VK, then don't act like such attention whores and choose for once. And what does it look like anyway? Kisou SM? Horrible! Looks shouldn't be important but this is disgraceful. .. well at least Kyo. I couldn't detect the others very well because the pictures were too small.

My unpopular music opinion: It isn't "best album", it is "best of album" or simply "best of".

Some ten years ago people really had to struggle to get a release. I remember wanting this rare rammstein single collection box for 200€, but eventually I never got it. ..Nowadays people are crying about not getting immediately what they want. And no, the "ignoring" part isn't much of a difference. No one is obliged to share anything, so if people ignore you, guess what. Shit happens. ..What has this world come to...

Got more into Season Of Mist lately. Great new releases. My personal favorite being GHOST BRIGADE right now. Got some great Opeth/Gojira vibes. Listen to this while being stoned --> ultimate experience.

ReS all the way. 1. Opeth - Hours of Wealth 2. 仙台貨物 [sendai Kamotsu] - サイパン 3. ナイトメア [Nightmare] - Lost In Blue 4. Versailles - After Cloudia 5. ギルガメッシュ [girugamesh] - 亡者ノ行進 6. Dir en grey x AKB47 / Gackt? Are you fucking serious? I might just have fallen into a troll trap, but it was worth it. I'd like to see Nightmare x the Gazette Dir en grey x downy Jupiter x Moi Dix Mois Hazuki (lynch) x lynch Black Gene For The Next Scene x R-Shitei Girugamesh x Kanon Wakeshima Gonin-Ish - sukekiyo

I started out with flute, A-trumpet, trombone and keyboard. Ah yeah, and I mastered the triangle that time, too. Nowadays I'm more focused on playing drums and e-bass. I prefer to play drums in my band projects though, like right now. Bass is the coolest instrument to cool down at home.
-
Considering the fact that it's almost an unpopular opinion to like Dir en grey ovr sth else nowadays... this comes a little late

They're ok. I don't like the vocalist..kinda not fitting for the overall music, but the instrumentals are at times pretty cool. Karasu is probably my favourite song. EDIT "karasu" haha. Screw me. For one time now it actually reads raven in english and I'm just not used to it. lol But honestly, if someone were to change the bands name to SCREW I wouldn't notice a bit.

Well of course. It's just all about Asagi that screams for "woman". It's just who he is..from my point of view, of course. And I don't see it as a bad thing if even his growls reflect his persona or style. I just happen to not like it anymore. I also have Angela Gossow immendiately in mind as a sort of counter-example. Ever since I watched the music video of "My Apocalypse" I can't think of her but a man in a woman's hide. Apart of that, Asagi's growls actually have much more quality than many other VK vocalists. .. Is this an unpopular opinion?

I really only know Xodiack...but damn, that was a good band. I kinda listened to this and that band of that label, but Xodaick was the only one keeping my interest. Too bad Eros/Ice cancelled it, for whatever reason.

That's very sad. Please grow a thicker hide in the future.

Yes, we do need to come to the conclusion THAT these here are opinions. That's what you're seemingly not getting. Aside from the fact that putting aside these certain characteristics we talk about just because they use "death vocals" (I wonder how long until the next hospital visit) is a poor way of making your argument. Because now you're explicitly stating you don't connect their singing styles with a sort of girlie/feminine attitude BECAUSE of certain elements within their style that YOU factually exclude from said characteristics, no matter what. Let's stay there for an example: When Asagi does those "death vocals", I feel a strong sense of feminine/girlieness coming from them. Do you want to tell me that factually this is impossible? No it isn't, it's just my perception. Or opinion, if you will. And same goes for the clean singing... for me it's not a matter of saying "oh, but he screams..that makes it sound totally manly to me". That's your approach, not mine. So don't come to me with "facts". That just shows your ignorance.
-
Why do you specify on yourself what it sounds like, and then follow up making a general approach? I mean we won't come to any conclusions if our senses differ that much.. so at least let's keep it with what we hear out differently and how we connect what we hear to certain expressions.. like the ones I mentioned.
-
Sorry, I didn't mean ALL of them have ALL the characteristics I counted up. But.. to say the vocalists of Kiryu, Mejibray, Phantasmagoria don't sound girlie or high-pitched.. that's strange. I mean you can have the opinion that sounding like a girl or generally high-pitched, pretentious etc. is kind of your definition of manhood in music, but that doesn't take the fact that it "sounds" the way I or others mentioned.
-
I can't tell you all singers names, but just some bands that come to mind: 9Goats Black out, D, Versailles, Jupiter, Phantasmagoria (and folks), Kiryu, (what I like of) Mejibray, etc. pp. There's a lot more but right now these come to mind first. ^^
-
You're damn right Ok this one is going to be a bit controversial: I just can't enjoy VK vocalists embracing this kind of metro/homo/girlie voice style any more. I got tired of it. And it's sad since the music per se is still awesome to me. Argh-

@hiroki Very beautiful response. Couldn't have expressed it as good as that. Exactly my thoughts.
