Tomoyasu Hotei recently announced that he will release his new album (title not known yet) on 2013/02/06. Additionally, he will also hold a Japan tour from March 15 to May 19.

Shiina Ringo, definitely. While Tokyo Jihen has some cool songs, I like almost everything Shiina did in her solo works. Her solo songs are much more fun and memorable for me, and closer to my heart. Plus, I think she delivered a consistent quality on all her albums, while I find some TJ albums lacking compared to others.

Dunno if anyone posted this yet, but found a cool video: uHgoB-A0gsA Sadly, it seems this is the full song (so short~ xD). By the way the shamisen dude (Agatsuma Hiromitsu) will take part in one of the tracks on Miyavi's upcoming mini album, but it will not be this song. Looks like this was part of some youtube/online project collaboration thingie.

I would have to vote DEATHGAZE. I used to listen to both bands a lot more in the past, but nowadays DEATHGAZE seems like the more consistent one, or at least the band that is closer to my taste. They still manage to do some ass-kickin' stuff, while lynch has come to the point where I wouldn't even put on their (recent) songs as background music.

^ Thanks for the link! I kinda like the video more than the music actually, at least on first look/listen. xD

^ The distributors of their CDs are Like An Edison & Daiki Sound, but seeing they are labeled SGNLCD-003, SGNLCD-004, etc, I think they are not part of any particular label (i.e. they are on their own label I guess?).

Yeah, I think that would be okay that way. It's not that big of a problem anyway, just a minor thing.

I prefer non-Japanese (i.e. romaji) characters in thread titles/descriptions/etc too, since that way I immediately know what I'm looking at. I can read hiragana and katakana (and some kanji), but I don't think most downloaders can, so... (well, I'm just assuming). It's easier on the eyes too, imo.

I decided to make a thread, since this album is awesome~ Here are my thoughts on the individual songs (without the "prologue" tracks, cuz they're so short anyway). Kanashimi no chi ni saku hana: beautiful opening track, starts out rather subdued with some acoustic guitars, then expands into more dramatic and epic territories. I love how well-crafted and pretty this song is. DEATH PARADE: a faster-paced track with some great guitar and bass melodies. Shall's vocals are really soaring too, he has some great moments. This one really reminds me of some lighter old-school visual kei, nice~ Inspire: already know this one, still a good song. Kurui hateta genjitsu ni mita sekai: this song is awesome, it has everything: beautiful (at times kinda cheesy) synths, random falsetto bits, dramatic atmosphere and driving rhythms, and a great closure. Lilias Sophie to yuuutsu: this kinda sounds like if a newer-style VK band tried to play a LUNA SEA song dripped in a goo of synths, while channeling some millennium-era indies-VK. Great stuff. DEAD the CREATOR: interesting, this song is like a mixture of Vior's usual elegant melodies and a more 'trashy' typical indies-VK style - clunky rhythm guitars, repetitive synth blaring with a disco-beat. A curious and contrastive track, not bad. despair: fast-paced track with a cool-sounding (but kinda obvious xD) main guitar part, and a nice continuation of that theme on subtle synths - nice move! Really catchy soaring chorus too; great song. Iro no nai sekai: okay, this probably takes the cake for 'most random & awesome song' on here. xD Begins with agitated chuggy guitars, proceeds to mellow out, then random epicness, mellow part, WTF jazzy bit?? oh hey. Amazing. 8D Kimi ga inai heya: the only truly ballad-like track, it's a nice mix of pleasant sounds - synths/piano, acoustic and mellow electric guitars. It has a warm nostalgic feel strengthened by Shall's beautiful vocals. Locus: a sweet and up-beat closing track, with nice piano and a fast melodic chorus. Sounds very optimistic. Lovin' the guitar solo and the subsequent 'tinkley' synths, and how it all builds back up. Great ending for a great album. I liked the first single of these guys, but still, I'm really really surprised and impressed that they could deliver such a beautiful and well-crafted full album, especially since they only formed a bit less than 1.5 years ago. The songs are great and packed full with memorable bits, and the production suits their style well too - it's not top-notch of course but perfectly good for a band of this caliber. I hope that they will continue making amazing music even after UNDER CODE's demise, and that they will gain more fans - they would really deserve it! (though seeing the trend with newer bands, this seems sadly unlikely) Giving this album an 8.5/10, excellent stuff!

Official statement on their site: http://www.fools-mate.co.jp/pc/info_main.html A Japanese colleague of one of my buddies roughly translated it, supposedly it means that the magazine itself will not cease to exist, but will have fewer issues in the future (so it will not have issues every month). The December issue will just be the last of the 'monthly release' kind.

The tracklist sounds nice (very Pura-ish xD), looking forward! Also to the Rebuild versions; I love that album!

ZIZ+KEN MORIOKA collaboration CD will be sold at the "Salon du Detester #2" live on 2012/12/28 at Shinjuku LOFT.

WHAT THE FUCK. Such a terrible loss, it was a long-standing and cool magazine. Even though I don't really read Japanese, it was always good to look at their awesome photo shoots. They will be sorely missed...

Basically I'm just echoing what the previous few people said... it depends on the person I guess.

Hell no. I'm more or less okay with how/where I am.

Yay, thx for the tracklist! The covers don't look bad either. Kinda afraid, but looking forward~
