LOL seems like they're forever re-recording ナミダレイン and サミダレイン. Oh well, I might actually get this one (if they're selling it at regular shops too), seeing that I really like them but don't have anything by them yet - nice collection of songs! Looking forward to hearing the new ones too.

^ Happiness of the Katakuris comes to mind. It's great, if you can handle weird stuff. edit: oh wait, you mean movies about music or music-making? Maybe Detroit Metal City? I totally recommend watching the short anime series first tho.

The band made a new 2-track EP available for free download, check it! Has one new song and a live version of a previous one. Pretty cool. Also, anyone else catching them on their spring Europe tour (or in Feb/March in the US)? Hoping to go to Budapest myself, at the end of April.

Anyone else listened to the new Tomahawk album? Thoughts? I'm only through my first listen. It had some good moments but overall not really feelin' it so far. It's nice and all, of course.

Musical knowledge and insight can be a plus, but in my opinion not necessary to critique music. Music is made to be enjoyed and heard by all people to whom it might be available, therefore anyone hearing it is capable of making an equally valid opinion on it, in my eyes at least. I think the key here is 'personal taste', nothing more. Even musically super-read and -talented people can have widely differing thoughts and views on a particular piece of music (depending on a multitude of factors), so it would be foolish to ultimately value the opinion of these people more than, say, a casual music listener.
