  1. Inono, they've just come off as decent too me... which is really sad, cause I loved Hina's voice in ChelseA. It sounds a lot different now, I don't like it as much.

  2. I haven;t heard much of their earlier stuff, but their V.I.D ~Very Important Doll album was actually really good. I think I may download their best off album and see how that is.

  3. I've never really like 12012, but I saw their Heart single on the downloads on Tonberry. It had cool cover art so I was like "hey, I'll give them another chance." I loved it. Everything since their Heart single has been amazing, but unfortunately I can't say I really enjoy anything they've done before it, although it's not bad.

Ocean or Deep Forest are my favorite tracks. For the most part I don't look up the translations for songs, but I checked out Deep Forest's and it's really good, I was surprised, lol.

  4. What the heel are you talking about when you said two mini-album, Jake?!?

    Greedy Dead Souls - album

    Underneath the Skin - maxi-single

    Grateful Shit - single

Roaring in the Dark - single

    Enemy - single

    Forgiven - single

Nowhere do I see even one mini-album, lol. You're crazy, Jake.

On a different note, Lynch. rules. Greedy Dead Souls is still my favorite from them, but hopefully their new album kicks ass too.

  5. Took my review from My blog:

I've been looking forward to this CD's release for some time and I was excited to find it up for download on Batsu. I snatched it and have been listening to it nonstop. Maybe it was worth the wait.

The title track, SQUALL, is something I wasn't expecting from D'espairsRay at all. It's poppy! Karyu's shines in this song and Hizumi voice is no slouch either. You won't find any screaming hear, but instead Hizumi shows us that he doesn't need to scream to make an awesome song. at the very beginning and near the end of there's some violins in the background that give it an epic sound. The production here is equally good. This is a very unexpected song from D'espairsRay, but an all around awesome song.

The next track, Desert, picks up with something of more traditional D'espairsRay flavor. Hizumi is back to his screaming again, but I wish it had a bit more raw sound to it, I think they added too much synth to it. The slower parts of this song are a bit lacking, but they're short so it doesn't get to boring. The second half of the song is what really does it for me, the song keeps a more constant pace. Not one of D'espairsRay's best songs, but it's still very good. Also, it lets us know that the old D'espairsRay hasn't left yet.

The final track, Screen, is once again something I never saw coming from D'espairsRay. Screen comes in the form of a haunting ballad. This song has slowly worked it's way into my heart. It starts of with Hizumi singing, with little background except some creepy background synth noises and a few light piano notes. The synth pics up and it sends you on your way through this awesome ballad. All the member except for Hizumi have seemed to disappear on this track. This may be the most different thing D'espairsRay has ever done, and I think they did an amazing job. I can see this song becoming one of my favorites... Reminds me a lot of Guniw Tools song Dearly Dark Nap.

A poppy song, a old fashion rocker, and a ballad. D'espairsRay have caught me off guard with single and I love it. I know I might be a bit easy on it here, but hey...

    Rating: 5 out of 5

  6. I really like Sadie, but I find it amusing because they have the same name as my dog, lmao. They've always sounded a lot like Diru, but I think the more I listen to them the less I think they actually sound like them... But Dir en Grey is Mao's favorite band, lol. I think that some of Mao's screams sound stupid though, like in some parts CHILDREN OF DESPAIR, mousou hi gyaku seiheki, and one other song I can't think of at the moment. Over all very good band, though. I'm looking forward to their new single as well... hopefully it kicks the hell out of "THE SUICIDE MACHINE," well, except for empty room, that song was awesome.

  7. I just downloaded the single and I've fallen in love with the title track. The song sways from happy to dark nearly perfectly.

There's no real screaming on this track, but is that Tatsurou rapping in one part of the song?!? And it works?!? :o Tatsurou is what truley makes this song for me, you can feel the emotions in his voice without him having to full out scream, whcih I really enjoyed.

About the only complaint I have about the song is that the ending is kind of sucky, with that classic radio fade away as opposed to an actual ending.

The second track, Touei, however, I though fell far short of Libra. It kind of feels like a cheap rip off of Libra mixed with several other MUCC songs that I feel like I've heard before. It's by no means bad, it's just kind of dull, and I found myself skipping the track when I was playing this single so I could get back to listening to Libra again.

Probably not worth a purchase, but it's well worth the download... although I have a feeling that a lot of people wont enjoy Libra nearly as much as I do.
