  1. Hey y'all!  Been pretty busy.  i know it's been a while since I've posted.

Quick rundown of events!  We had a blast in Canada, with Hoshi*Furu, Mirellia, J'nai.  We also performed with Rose Noire and Diazy Stripper, though we didn't really hang with them.

Since then we had a bunch of downtime, recording, booking, and figuring things out.

We also set up a mini tour, called winters breath, that carried us from 2014 into 2015.  We played with one of our best friends, Dialogue from a Silent Film, and we also made some new pals.

And now we're competing for a position to play in this years Vans Warped Tour.  We're doing pretty well, but we really need help, making that final push to the top.

If you like what you've heard from us so far, please take a second to follow this link, and just leave a positive comment, listen to music and share from our warped tour page!
The more you interact with our page, the higher the rating becomes.  We're currently at a 93.7% rating.

  2. Hey MH, Just wanted to keep you all updated.

My band is still making music, and working on playing shows every where that we can.  Hopefully this winter we will release our debut album.

This is the 3rd single for it, BURN.

If you like thrash metal, or metalcore, I think you'll enjoy.

  3. Battlefield 4
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
    Gears of War 3
    Destiny

I used to try to keep up with games, but I've been busy - and disappointed in most releases. In example, I own Destiny, but I just don't think it's a good game.  It doesn't live up to it's immense potential.  The worlds are beautiful, but you are barred from exploration.  The gameplay lacks variation, as most missions are, "defend this point".  The story is told to the player, rather than through the gameplay, so you never really feel immersed.

I like FFXIV's art style, character creation, ease of play, and sense of adventure - but it degenerates to button mashing/kill the healer for PvP, the story is mediocre - and the environments are static, and non interactive.  Also, the combat is meh, it's hard to feel connected to the movements happening on screen.

Don't get me wrong, there are games that I love. I was actually hoping to see if there was some great games I've been missing - which is why i clicked on this post.

For me, a game should utilize it's "in game" mechanics to tell the story.  The mechanics should challenge your reflex's, decision making skills, and environmental awareness.  DmC may have a kinda crappy script - but the levels are designed, so you have to use your jumps and special skills to traverse the map, while also fending off groups of enemies, with independent skillsets, strengths and weaknesses.  This keeps you on your toes, and you feel rewarded, when you do something cool.

i won't get into a whole big thing... unless you guys want to - but, I'd like to ask: Do you like the games you are playing?
    If so, please explain why.
If not, please share what you think the games flaws are, and what it's fixes should be.

  4. We began filming the video for Heart of Viole[n]ts over a year ago. However, we had some complications, and lost almost all of the footage - as corrupt data.

Since then, we've played a ton of shows and had many adventures.

So we decided to share our adventures with you, in our new video for Heart of Viole[n]ts - featuring some of the salvaged clips from the original music video.

  5. Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've updated.

This summer, we're finally putting out our album, Et Nexus to Utopia. It's a collection of music, visual art, and interactive experiences, that we've had in mind, for quite sometime. We're extremely excited about it - and to get others excited, we want to bring the experience to people who haven't heard us.

May 23rd will be our first show outside of the United States.
We're bringing Sol Ardour to Toronto, Canada. There we'll take the stage with Hoshi*Furu, Rose Noire and Daizy Stripper - at The Toronto Congress Centre, for Anime North. While up north, we'll be playing a few additional shows in Canada.

Our next big stop will be June 14th.
We'll be joining the international turkish metal band Pui, to rock the mainstage of NYC's largest nightclub, Webster Hall.

We're looking to bring our unique expression of several genres, sights, sounds, performance, and ideologies, wherever we can.
If you know of any venues in your area that you'd like us to play, please lemme know. I'd be thrilled to try and bring us there.

Thanks in advance for any help, or well wishing!

P.s. And for the life of me, I can't figure out how to add youtube links anymore! Would someone mind explaining it to me?

  6. Hey yall, recently my band Sol Ardour has been back in the studio, finalizing our first multi-genre debut album!

Over the summer, we released our first music video, and began recording our second video (where we were stopped by police, lol).  We've played a couple of mini/hidden shows, just to stay on our toes.  But our main focus, has been to finally bring forth the work that defines who we truly are.

So we headed back up to Westfall Studios and began recording.

Here you can get an early listen to a few of the songs on our upcoming release, which we're aiming to present, in April.
If you enjoy any of the songs, please feel free to show to friends, embed in forums, etc.  We're pretty excited with this new work, and can't wait to share.

  7. Hey Yall!  It's been a while.

We had a kinda crazy, but fun summer.  Unfortunately our rhythm guitarist Sai, had to leave the band mid summer.  We're still all on great terms.

Last week, we officially inducted our newest rhythm guitarist, Topeng.
We're working hard to record the first Official album of Sol Ardour.  Thanks you to anyone who still checks this thread out!

I'm not quite sure how to insert videos. lol. Here's a link!

  8. I hope yall find some bandmates.  It'd be cool to have more partners in the scene.  Hit me up, I'll try to help you find bandmates.  I kinda help mentor a lot of band folks in NYC, the way I was mentored by a few dudes when I was younger.

So if you need help with song arrangement - finding venues, or booking - bandmates - or tough band choices, feel free to hit me up.  Obviously I mean to help "Desperate Despair" - but this applies to anyone in this chat.

  9. Thanks Jigsaw and VeloVelo!

Ohhhh yeahhh.  I love the EastWest orchestra stuff.  Have been trying to get a hold of a copy for a while.  Just so dang expensive - and hard to find..... elsewhere.  A composer friend of mine uses it for his orchestral mockups.

I'll have another update for this thread pretty soon.  Thanks for giving it some attention yall!

  10. hey Guys and gals.

    Brief update!

Here's a sketch of a song I've been working, on solo. The band will also be adding some electronic elements to our sound. I'll keep updated on the progress.

Doctor pepper - similar short, with something i can't recall

  12. Rinkaku sounds like something I'm really going to enjoy. If it can be used to gauge the direction of the next album, then they'll have something very pretty and dark. Rinkaku sounds like someone in the band has been listening to Mutyumu - which is a great thing.

I understand why people aren't fond of 30 seconds to mars. The band feels overproduced and too big, for the limited personality backing them. They all seem like ok guys, but, don't come off as superstars. I like them though. I enjoy that epic spacious sound, and their videos are almost always cool.
