  1. Ok, let's be fair: METEMPSYCHOSIS is a banger, but not as good as I was anticipating. If you take out from the equation those 3-4 tracks that stand out the most, the rest of the album sounds pretty much the same throughout its entirety. I don't mean to say it is a boring album, but it does get repetitive if you don't focus on its nuances - I found myself playing it in the background without paying attention and it was just... there?
Also I didn't really like most of the re-recordings: I despise it when the structure of the song is heavily changed. I would've really preferred a higher quality recording, not a complete rehash.

Idk about the CHEDOARA thing, but I'm sure I *hate* the new IMITATION... It's such an iconic song of theirs, why the FUCK would you tear it apart like that?!

I agree that a majority of the retakes don't quite stand up to the originals, but it's not like we can't just listen to the original any time instead. I do wish they hadn't changed up the composition so much on the older tracks though, a cleaner take of The Dead Sea and Mistake would have been awesome. I'm interested to see how Hunger turns out on the White edition.

I feel like Kagami is the one who did vocal melody in the original imitation so he just let the new members deconstruct and rebuild on it and while I like some remade parts (drum machine in the 2nd half goes in lbr), it just doesn't have the same cohesion anymore.

everything else is upgrade for me, the album itself is a bit too straightforward, like they intentionally didn't deviate too much with song stucture. even with that, some songs sound way more VK than I expected from DXCR.

I'm very curious what their next single is going to sound like now.
