Hey guys, for the past year I've been doing a radio show about asian music and that's been going pretty well but we're thinking of branching out into text based reviews, in addition to wanting to bring in some fresh eyes and ears to the show itself. This is an open call for anyone who'd be interested in writing for the site or being a guest on future episodes. MH has some awesome writers and personalities and I'd like to invite anyone who's interested to contact me (either respond below, PM me, or you can email me at mamacass [at] oto-show.com) about joining our little 'team'.

Though the show has covered quite a bit of VK related artists we'd like to branch out to include other genres/styles of east asian music so having expertise in that is a major plus! 

There's no strict deadline or scheduling so it'd be adding content whenever you wanted to. Only request would be that if you couldn't make a show you give me 24hr notice so I can find a fill in lol.

To reflect this new direction I'm redesign the website (www.oto-show.com) which you can see a preview of here and here.

We use the WordPress CMS so familiarity with that is also a plus, but not required.

Hopefully this will be of interest to some of you and I look forward to hearing from any willing participants

For my laptop and Desktop I've been using MusicBee a lot lately as it has many features I want right out of the box and doesn't require much in the way of skinning to make it aesthetically pleasing. I've configured one of my tabs to do a "Downloads Search" by mapping the "sort artist" ID3 tag to a URL search string (I put romaji band names in that field for easy library lookup, same for the sort album and sort title tags, they're very seldom used by anyone I know but oh so useful)

not so much "converted" as I got people into particular bands that lined up with their genre preferences, it's been all over the place over these past 14 years, from Dir en grey, Lareine, Lucifer Luscious Violenoue, and Luna Sea back in the late 90s/early noughts, to deadman, metronome, mucc, etc in throughout the mid noughts, and stuff like anonymous confederate ensemble, 9goats, and versailles in recent years.

However I do host a radio program where the goal is to introduce asian music to a western audience and we've gotten a few messages here and there saying we played a band or genre someone hadn't heard of before, so that always lights up my day

have decided to edit the top post week to week (don't think that bumps a topic...) with preview images of upcoming shows; I fuck around in PS for a living and try to be semi-comical from time to time so I put it in spoilers

I've been offered the opportunity to host an hour long weekly radio show about Asian music and culture!

We call ourselves: o.t.o. -恩讐と音楽-, or just oto for short

If you could take the time out of your day to take a listen we'd certainly appreciate it! 

Our parent station is www.jackaloperadio.com which hosts the popular Radiodrome and Nightwatch programs (not related to music but still interesting flagship shows)

Episode 1 premiered March 31st, with new episodes airing every Sunday night at 8:00pm EST anywhere that Jackalope is available (most online radio tuners, itunes, etc)

Directly following the broadcast a podcast version becomes available at our official website www.oto-show.com , which we host on soundcloud (still a free user *for now*, so only two most recent shows will show up via sc, back-ups are done through powerpress on site) and we also make it available through the iTunes store / RSS Subscribtion.

we've set up a Facebook page, a last.fm group, a tumblr, and a twitter. So feel free to stalk us on your SNS of choice...

used to go under the name/handle Jisatsudreams, ran a few fansites(Charlotte, Lab. the basement, and a sharing site before blogs were really the norm for sharing), modded a few LJ communities(vidoll, and had a few graphics journals over the years). yadda yadda. Haven't been keeping up with the scene for a good 3 years but like some kind of drug addict I'm back. Didn't leave for lack of interest, merely lack of time. work from home now so naturally on pc more, so naturally discovering new bands/releases again.

so umm...yeah, nice to be here and hope to be semi active, ha.
