Well, it's almost obvious that guy, who has got Satsuki's pic as his avatar, must enjoy this EP/mini-album. After all I mentioned it in another thread, where we just type best releases from 2010. And for me this release is almost perfect. I don't want to try to convince these from You, who think, Satsuki sacks, that it's different, 'cause it would seem as if I tilted at windmills It would be just senseless. But I'd like to join Your discussion, though. At the beginning, let's say objectively English version of "MOON SPIRAL" isn't good at all. It's very difficult to enjoy whole song with such bad English of my beloved idol, even there's so wonderful vocal. It's probably the worse song on this mini-album. Then, we have average "AWAKE" and "CRYSTAL". Right, they're nice, but there's no such power that can just move. "Horizon" is simple, but very enjoyable, although his English still could be better. He needs really to work more with this problem. New version of "Veil of MARIA" seems to me... more aggressive than it's original, but it's still good song. It has just another atmosphere in there. But the best song from "UPPER REGION", best track from this whole year (and best PV since RES disbanded ) that really can hold You into "upper region" of sensitivity is "Ryuushi..." called by many of You i.e. "6 minute long piano klimper klimper" (morbiusss)... You just don't have this necessary sensitivity, right? So, this song is not for You. I, personally, as it shows my last.fm scrobbler, since September listened to it about 400 times. I love in there all: piano, lyrics, passion in his voice, Finnish verses... In my opinion, I can agree that it's only a question about definition, how to understand term "heavy"/"hard". For me RES since their departing with Yukari started to play heavier than before, as it is perceptible for many others from You too and I can even say, there was such tendency to play even heavier. Potential differences between "Bottom of chaos" and "Megiddo" are for me honestly good proof for it. But anyway, how to define this "nu-metal tag", Satsuki didn't change his mind at all and just don't like this kind of music any more. It would be just a false to say something this way. From some reasons, that can be puzzle me, he plays more pop music only in studio recordings. Some sources? Together with mini-album we had have also about 15 minutes DVD release, where we could listen some parts of his this year's live performances. And I don't know, how he did it; maybe it's because of help session musicians, maybe Mika's arrangements (after all Mika rather still supports him), or something like that, but effects are just excellent. It's really "harder/heavier" than on CDs, that just surprised me and I started to be more excited about his 6th oneman at 24th December, partly like in old, good RES times. Satsuki still develops his music skills, so we probably don't have to worry about him himself. It's only problem, what think about this last studio releases... 'cause examples like English "MOON SPIRAL" are really terrible... maybe we just still have to wait for something... watching his lives and hoping, it'll be still better in future. For me "Ryuushi...", or "Out of Cradle part II ~the return~" is just a beautiful path, gate to brand new possibilities... Diamond between some worse, average tracks and crappy "MOON SPIRAL". At this moment we can only guess, where can this path lead us in future... I don't expect You to polemicize with my personal opinion. I'm even partly afraid that it can change into some similar misunderstanding like in the case of my posts in this already closed Rumors' thread about case of Jasmine Yuu's death... but let's see. I think I just died a little inside. I had have partly similar feelings. Really afraid how easy to kill atmosphere in this song. But generally I'm waiting for this release. 摩天楼オペラ, D, Merry and heidi. can sound very interesting. I don't know some of this covered songs as well like bands, which are re-recording them, also it could be good start to me to discover Japanese "dinosaurs" like PENICILLIN, SOPHIA, SHAZNA, or CASCADE and such modern bands, which I've read many good opinions about, i.e. ドレミ團, or Mix Speaker’s,Inc and never listened to.

I didn't know before, two members departed from this band. I enjoyed their last CD and it's somehow pity... In my opinion they were something like The Candy Spooky Theater mixed up with Dir en grey. Something really weird, but as well really interesting and nice. I hope they find (or, maybe already found?) some good musicians to replace them, or drummer and bassist come back. Or, at the end: solo project of Mr. Satan will keep similar style (but looking at this photo session and cover art from mini-album I partly doubt in such possibility)...

Excellent message, indeed. At first time I read about his throat problems in JaMe and I've been very afraid and worried about his healthy state as well as all of You here. I hope same like Chianti, he really understands, how he physically feels like and in closest future won't force himself too much. Lynch is very great band, they just joined major and it would be pity, if something hampered their artistic plans... But to be honest, I don't agree that generally: and I was really interested how such potential instrumental performances might look like. I consoled myself that "Shadowz", "Ambivalent Ideal", "A gleam in eye", or newest "Judgement" could sound very original this way... But surely there would be for me no way to listen to any recordings from there though.

I'm just totally broken down. All I wanted was to share with You some free thoughts and fears about death of one from better bassists I know and to talk culturally about possible reasons of it and what I received in defiance? You just laughed, or were totally disgusted. It's not what I meant. I hoped, we could start some more, or less interesting essential discussion, to mention some better Japanese sources, to look for potential proofs as if Jasmine Yuu friends from i.e. Versailles attended his funeral, and if not, what could be the reason of it... just to debate not in such senseless way... I know what I wrote and maybe I just did it wrong way. There's also not like that I could expect, somebody here could have possibility to get and scan his true documents from hospital, it's obviously impossible, but reading some official blog entries from last year one more time, try to analyse them... it could potentially answer to some questions from this thread without creating new fan-fics... My mistake was to mix up my personal feelings with real possibilities. Sorry, I know it's very not professional I really like to develop my j-rock interests and just hoped, this thread could help me somehow. And expected wiser discussion. But as I said: that's me, who's wrong. If Satsuki, Takumi and rest didn't record "Yurikago", they might never do such big career as they did. That's first. And about Versailles... It's almost the same problem. "Lyrical Sympathy" just started this big group, people were very excited because of members... it looked almost like super-group at all with Hizaki, Jasmine Yuu and Kamijo... I've got no idea, how to explain it better :-/

@SUBLIMINAL, @gyakutai - thank You very much. I surely check this mentioned bands out, if I'll be in proper mood. Already stuck their names into my list bands-must-listen-to, or how to call it. Anyway, it seems as I already once did listened to some Kagrra songs and I didn't enjoy them as well, but I just have to give this band probably one more chance And, as I understood it well, all bands mentioned by You, SUBLIMINAL, bands, are quite neo-folk with traditional origins, right? And how with something in style like ordinary European neo-folk artists, with acoustic guitars, strings, apocalyptic lyrics themes and all this common stuff? It seems somehow extraordinary, as if in Japan, when we see a lot obvious examples of copies American nu-metal, punk, gothic rock (simplifying, i.e. kotekote) and many others, were no bands inspired by Current 93, Death in June, Sol Invictus, if I could give only most well-known projects... I know these artists have been trying to promote themselves in Japan too; I have audio bootleg of Current 93 from Osaka Muse Hall from 1989.07.03. For me it's almost impossible as if during 21 years there was in whole Japan nobody who was interested by doing some music this way. And of course I agree that being inspired by American/European culture isn't nothing bad, negative at all. Although I see here two problems only. First: that original Japanese culture became because of this fact less well-known, started to be passing over by many Japanese young people, who for sure don't care about it as well as their grandparents. Its perceptible, and it's i.e. already mentioned example of Japanese original terms and gairaigo that can substitute them. It seems as partly serious problem. And second, I can think that if Japanese artists really could feel this "American" way and wanted to be honest in expressing their emotions, they should have work more with their English not to read their written lyrics so terrible as lot of them do. Maybe if they worked more, tried to study more, or something, then we surely didn't debate about it here. Such problem shouldn't then even exist. But as we can see, or listen to... Maybe this Japanese sincerity is just meant somehow wrong?

It could be in same style like European bands, I mean acoustic guitars and all this stuff like Current 93, Death In June and many others, or just true modern reflection of ancient Japanese music with traditional instruments etc... Does anybody be able to find something like that?

It's interesting forum, You all have sometimes a lot of stranger opinions and when I just expressed my own one, then it seems so weird... :-/ I really don't want to offend anybody, even Jasmine Yuu himself, if there's something after death and he can feel emotions of people who think about him, especially not You, or any fan of him. I love Versailles, have many respect to them and still adore Jasmine music skills too. He really was great bassist player. It's not that case. But don't You think it's very interesting after all? Can You say also, why are You ashamed about thinking of some potential orgies with such musicians I mentioned as a cause of virus infection and then - as a case of his death itself? Maybe I can be even wrong in this thoughts too and maybe failed with this examples, but please, don't take 'em this way. Let's ignore Satsuki, Kisaki, Kamijo, Kizaki... There always could be his other friends, who was already infected. Maybe from Jyakura, or some session musicians from Hizaki Grace Project? If, only if Jasmine Yuu died because of AIDS, there must have been some reason, how he got this virus that lowered his health immunity, right? I just supposed that it could be because of some homo-, or bisexual activities. In such cases it seem to me rather ordinary. I don't even suggest Jasmine had have been "sniffing" his musician, artist friends. They could also, I don't know, use same sexual services, or something like that. Anyway, AIDS and HIV always must have some cause. Undervalued Japanese bands? In this thread there are so many bands I never even heard their names, or something that I could discover 'em during months and years... It's just question, how many and which from 'em really deserve attention? But as well I am also able to write some names, that weren't else mentioned and I can feel they're undervalued too. I.e. Yukari's Baiser, Eliphas Levi, that's standing in the shadows of most popular Aliene Mariage, Lareine, displaced by Versailles... As well SaTaN, Psycho le Cemu... generally, except SaTaN, which is relatively new group, most of old v系 bands...

I read this thread completely often laughing aloud. I've been asking myself as well, why Japanese artists use English in their lyrics if they had problems to read it then, or can't write it properly. I can agree with reasons mentioned above: overall it's probably direct influence of American protective policy after World War II to Japanese culture, where English seems as "higher" language with style, many values and elite characteristics. But I can feel the seed is even earlier; it's about Edo period, economic relations with West countries and things like that. I suppose gairaigo like miruku, remon, or naifu, as terms that could be listened often among modern European travellers, slowly started to replace older words of often Chinese origins. These words weren't taken only from English, as well from Portuguese, German and Dutch. That's first. I can imagine, original terms and synonyms borrowed from another languages as well can be felt in other way, as Mao from Sadie said in interview already mentioned by @Miasma. For me it's like as if sentences in English were less 'official', louder and more colloquial. I've got no idea, how to explain it differently. That's first. Second, You all can see, this popularity, culture fashion can influence that such sentences seem for Japanese people really cool at all. It's partly sad, that some other original words can be forgotten, but what should be done with this fact? Maybe do Japanese politics should make some gairaigo forbidden, huh? If I had to choose worst English singing Japanese vocalist, or - in other words - with best Engrish language skills, as to others, would it be to me partly difficult. Some of You often say that it's Kyo, Riku, or Kamijo, but it's probably only because they have very well-known. Plus I have to say, I guess all these vocalists finally fixed their abilities... Anyway, same I could say, very bad English sung i.e. Gackt in Malice Mizer, chorus in "Transylvania" shows him IMO as the worst from all three MM vocalists... But that's not the point. Personally, I suffered often when I listened to English versions of songs my beloved Satsuki. I have big faith he knows English very well, he's ambitious and I suppose he cares about it, but when he tries to sing... Honestly, I've got big problems with understanding and i.e. in "Horizon"'s chorus, before I read lyrics, I thought, it was "I love you 世界", looking after he meant "say to me". There are of course many similar problems and I could give many examples... Hazuki from lynch., Yuuki from UnsraW, Natsuki from -OZ-, but who's the worst at all? Question remains still opened.

Sorry, I'm writing here so unproductively. I just wanted to express, how much I adore similar topics, where Your sense of humour is just physically perceptible. This thread is first I've been reading after I found this resurrected forum and I just felt like I was returned home. First post and linked website made me partly moved, it was probably pretty good translation, if not only a fanfic, or something like that. If Jasmine Yuu really died because of some weakness, AIDS, or maybe - as I can personally could suppose, believing in official statement of his family and friends - anaemia (does it be truly improbable?), I wish he spent his last days as it was written there, admiring beautiful night sky in his professional outfit and with make-up at his face. After all it would be just very romantic, beautiful death. However if it was suicide... as You all I'd wish I had have some proofs for that, I don't know... maybe just to be sure, how with Hizaki's and Kamijo's presence at his funeral, something that could really let us deduce more hardly... @Phones666, if there were plans to dismiss Jasmine, writing "Serenade" might be something like attempt to excuse themselves. They could feel sense of guilt, as well its proof might be tears of Kamijo at memorial gig. IMO it's as well probable as thesis that poor bassist had been abducted by extraterrestrial creatures What I yet wonder... I can imagine, how Jasmine joined rabbit orgies with Kamijo, Kisaki and even my beloved Satsuki. They all were friends, right? Remembering about Kisaki's healthy state and understanding how big decadence can rule desires such sensitive and ambitious people and musicians I'm afraid, we can lose another one's of these wonderful group of talents too. It's like thinking about Jasmine Yuu I'm starting to fall in even bigger obsession by fear of death... I can't suppose everybody can remember me, but I'm Qliffot, poor Polish peasant obsessed by love to Rentrer en Soi and Satsuki, as well as by passion to another, especially old V系 bands like Baiser, Eliphas Levi, Aliene Mariage, Due le quartz and from more well-known i.e. Malice Mizer... (but obviously after all question, which Japanese bands are more, or less well-known is noticed only to personal point of view ) That what I can adore the most in Tainted World is Your specific sense of humour, evergreen rumour section, possibility to check out every news from j-music world in only one place and Your fresh look at music at all. Because of all this things there's just no other way, only being impressed by all of You I'm studying Japanese since three years, so if You want, You can every-time write to me in this language. I shall surely understand, but more difficult is for me to answer, 'cause at this moment when I have to write something in Japanese, I still forget many words. It's big problem to me, but I hope if I practised more I could develop my skills. I like especially translate lyrics, I made a lot of interpretations of these written by Satsuki and I have own Polish ReS website to promote this brilliant band in my country, so maybe I can try to help You with it in future...
