  1. I'm looking for more relaxing, easy to get into, pop-rock Japanese bands. Some I really like are Mr.Children, remioromen and BUMP OF CHICKEN. Looking for more that have something in common with any of these three.

And I'm also looking for female vocalists with music in the style of Nana Mizuki mostly. Or sweet voices and simple music like YUI. But no overly happy "kawaii" girlgroups please.

Plastic Tree is usually pretty relaxing and/or easy to get into.

And a sweet-voiced female vocalist I really like is Rie Fu.

  2. I'm looking for some jazz and blues, (I don't really care what country they're from, but I want some bands that are newer/currently active since I can ask my dad for older stuff), because I haven't really listened to any music of those genres yet.

I also want some bands that incorporate really awesome cello into their music. I know of Apocalyptica and Kanon Wakeshima, but their music hasn't really clicked with me and moved me. :/

    Thank you for any help!

  3. I was just listening to stuff like Led Zeppelin, Heart, The Moody Blues, The Doors, The Who, Rush, Jefferson Airplane, Ozzy, Hendrix, etc. I was mostly under the impression that the cooler the guitar solo/the higher the singer's notes, the better the song. I paid no attention to bass and drums, and I didn't really "feel" the music either.

Since I started listening to Japanese music, my appreciation for all the parts, (including bass, drums, mood, etc.), has gone way up, and music has become more important to me. I also am more open to different kinds of music now. I used to think metal and anything with screaming in it sucked, but now my favorite band is Dir en grey and I really like D'espairsray, Plastic Tree, Merry, UnsraW, Versailles, 9Goats Black Out, etc.

Anyway, I'm glad I started listening to these bands from Japan. :dansu:

This is all I got to say.

    Haha, this is awesome.

Kyo, Ruki, Hizumi, Kamijo, prettymucheveryjapanesesingeriveeverlistenedto... awesome singers, but crappy English.

Every now and then I'll understand a sentence, but I actually prefer it when their English is so bad that I don't even realize it's English; instead of me knowing that it's in English and cringing over the incomprehensibility of it.

  5. Whenever I try to download something, I keep getting a

"Internet Explorer cannot download 'filename' from 'site.'

    The operation timed out"

message after the download is about 3% completed, (some downloads get futher than that, even almost completed). This started recently, and it doesn't seem to matter where I'm downloading from or how large/small the file is, either.

Can anyone please help me with this? I'd be very grateful for any assistance.

  6. They really should tour with bands with a fan-base compatible to their own; but I don't know much about Apocalyptica, so I wouldn't know if they were a good fit or not...

Anyway, I'm so impatient for the next album to come out! :rawk:

  7. DIM was amazing, but I really don't like SHIVER and RED. They sound too "I've heard this before" to me. I hope their next album is at least almost as good as DIM despite this; I really have grown fond of their music lately!
