(Check out his version of Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana on the third mixtape.) The Weeknd, and his producers/helpmates (like Illangelo) could show a new way to r'n'b, while still keeping the very core of it; I think it isn't too much to say, that Abel's project was one of the leaderships of the so-called "hipster r'n'b" project (think of acts like Drake, How To Dress Well) - seriously, who thought that sampling a Beach Boys song (Master Of None in "Loft Music"), or a Siouxsie And The Banshees song (Happy House in House Of Balloons / Glass Table Girls) could turn out to be a great idea? Abel sings about parties - to be more specific, the dark side of the parties, love for money, the drugs, the emptiness. Not to mention, that from the 'nothing' (Abel has a pre-band, called "The Noise"), without revealing his identity for a long time, Abel could set up a very special world, with it's own style (from the use of xoxo to the covers), and make it to the mainstream - he was featured on Drake's new album (and Drake was featured on Abel's second mixtape, in "The Zone"), he was featured on the offical Lady Gaga remix album, his song was used during an advertisement - and next year, he will do his first world tour. From this year's very strong free mixtape scene (just think about A$AP Rocky's LiveLoveA$AP, Danny Brown's XXX, Frank Ocean's Nostalgia, Ultra and so on), The Weeknd could rise out. Favourite Track:

There are still no clues about the offical tracklist, but if we can believe HMV, the album will contain the title songs of the bands' latest singles (Toru's solo release doesn't count), plus ten more tracks.

I marked the albums/EPs I _really_ like with a *.

Sweet! My week is filled with essays that I need to write, and I really enjoy listening to Autechre, so it is the perfect time for me to revisit their classical albums. As for Sick Of It All, I liked the songs that I've heard from them, but never bothered listening to a full album - guess it should change now. Going to give some spins to this week's albums, and come back with my thoughts about them.

It's just my two cents, but I think, alternative/metal music is more widespread in Europe/America, so even though a band isn't that good, they have a bigger chance of getting a well-known name with tours ending with success. I mean it has a longer history in european countries than vk does. Of course many promoters noticed, that there is a big potential in vk, but it still has a way to go, before it will gets THAT popular. The number of people who doesn't know vk is still biger than those who know it. I think that it's great that they come to Europe, or at least, they play at closer venues. I don't want to start a rage fest, but I would kill if some of my of my favourite bands would go play at places this close to me. Yes, I agree that they could bring them to more places - but I think that they have a limited amount of money that could be spent to organise this tour, and with that much money, the best tour they could set up was this. ^^" And honestly, would you feel better if the tour was named something like 'bla bla artistic name created with a random generator' instead of EU tour?

MIKE PATTON, Y SO FLAWLESS?

The Moog & The Horrors @ Dürer Kert Altough I'm still sad that it seems, that I will never see The Horrors playing songs from their first album, this concert was amazing! Faris is great on the stage, sometimes he reminded me of Bradford Cox, and 'Scarlet Fields' was breathtaking.

New Girl S01E02. I had a few doubts about it, but after two episodes, it seems to be quite good!

Also, what do you think about a 'Top 10 Non-VK Albums' topic? Top 10 Indie Albums maybe a too narrow spectrum for many users to list ten _really_ good albums/favourites, but if the only limitation is that it shouldn't be VK, I think many user could contribute. Thoughts? (And maybe we should state in the opening post, that you should write at least about 3-4 sentences about the listed albums, so it won't be just a 'lists-only' topic.)

Agreed! They were really great on their instruments, I enjoyed every minute of the show! Not to mention that they were nice people, it was a pleasure to talk with them.

Lady Gaga - Bloody Mary (The Horrors Remix) It's sweet! You can check most of the others here. I found the Twin Shadow and The Weeknd & Illangelo remix to be very good.
