what's with him and UCP? since he seems eager to promote UCP event a lot. Maybe an UCP avid fan or something? Or perhaps... looking for future contracts with them?

i gotta say just because a part of the song is familiar to other song, doesn't give the justice to call it as rip off as a whole. there's a thin red line between inspired and blatantly copying music of another singer. Or else it's like saying Polish wurst is ripping off German wurst. And start calling both with only wurst. While it's textures and tastes is completely different. i am saying this out of my proud little monster attribute. Trust me. Also, i didn't know what kind of direction she will take. but with this lead single, i guess it will be safe to say that it will be anything but old. to be hype and wishing she would do something like her previous hits is fine but just don't keep the hopes high for now. she may surprise every single ears after all Born This Way single was written with Garibay who was working with her on Papparazi, Dance In The Dark & American Idol version of Alejandro and not even slight nostalgia of bubble gum dance pop like it on BTW. so perhaps RedOne will do the same as well. i predict her upcoming album will be for anyone that is not afraid with changes. The Fame is different, it was purposedly directed as a project to make a boom for her career debut as major artist, was made to be as catchiest as it can be. And Fame Monster was recorded as the dark side of The Fame, so that has connecting sounds to it. While BTW was written after few years of Fame era and is getting old. She tours alot and had a more broad ideas on how she will produce her future sounds. And it back to us, to our taste whether to take what is offered or not. but to be sure, let's wait for JUDAS. Just one day before Grammy, y'all! It is so exciting!

well, this is where the gap between an artist, a music listener and a reviewer can be clearly seen. for the lyrics, it mays sounds cheesy and whatsoever you can call it, but having yourself at her shoes, she might doing it on purpose. She have always been direct fr her lyrics writing. She need no difficult craps like symbols, metaphors and all that stuffs. She tried to bring out messages without making one racking their brains for it. And perhaps it's gets too direct that some people just can' really digest it, because they have been used to many songs using symbols in their lyrics. I have read some people out there were enraged with her naming some ethnicity. But personally, i think they've been misreads the lyrics. Tbh, i am half oriental, and i didn't feel that part insulting at all. If anything, it's empowering. The matter of her to choose that words, is for the lyrics rhymes. That's all nothing more, She can always say Japanese, Chinese but she didn't because it is not quite universal. But by saying Orient, she was meant all Asians. The same with Cholas, Lebanese and all other on the lyrics. I am sure she was never meant disrespectful with writing down that kind of lines. And she is doing this not for selling things, she has been implicitly criticizes all other singers that seems having a race by making a song that sounds like they're siding with the underdogs. I shouldn't name names, i am sure you know who these singers are. At one Monsters Ball concert in Poland, She was stated : "The funny thing is some people reduce freedom to a brand. They think that it's trendy now to be free. They think it's trendy to be excited about your identity. In truth, there is nothing trendy about Born This Way." With that she is trying to say, she wants everyone feels comfortable with who they are. say, if you're of LGBT, don't coming out just because you feel it's a trend, a hype for today. But doing it because you will feel no burden of who you are, because you will not need to hide your identity everywhere you go, because it will make you happier and enjoy life. But if you choose to not have a label, or choose to be still in the closet for some reason then do so. Cos no one will force you, as long as you will feel comfort. We gotta read into it sometimes, not all the time. There's more than just cheesy lyrics on Born This Way. Whenever people saying it will be a legend, a song of the decade. they must mean the message, not just the song. It's a huge-sounding single with a pulsating beat and a love-yourself message that's bound to pack dancefloors and blast from cars, computers and radios for weeks to come. You can complain all you want about the tip of the leather cap to "Express Yourself," which was just Madonna’s knock-off of the Staple Singers’ "Respect Yourself." But "Born This Way" is steeped in decades of gay disco tradition, with a heavy Seventies-style thump-thump from Patrick Hernandez’ 1979 classic "Born to Be Alive." Fun fact: one of Madonna’s first professional gigs was as a back-up dancer on a Patrick Hernandez tour, and you can believe Gaga knows it. O.K, gonna admit it, i did too xpecting something more ponderous — Gaga laboring to prove she’s a Serious Artist who can get away with arty indulgences. I assumed that a couple of years of mega-fame would make the Lady sound more full of herself. But there’s no dicking around here, no piano solos or Gregorian-chant interludes. Instead, she gets right down to unabashed pop kicks, because no matter how much inspiration she takes from the arty downtown scene she came from, her pet project has been revitalizing the Top 40. That’s what makes "Born This Way" sound so audacious and so amazing in so many levels. "Born This Way" isn't about her emotions, or what she's going through. It's about her fans. Which begs the question: When the adoration fades, which it inevitably will, what's going to fuel her? Gaga has set up a creative apparatus that's inherently designed to break down. Until then, though, there's a sense, listening to the song, that Gaga has tapped into something truly special, maybe even important. The song's message is certainly one that the world's youth needs to hear now more than ever. And I can't think of a better messenger.
