This bass line - playing it is beyond fun. No wonder it's pretty much the only thing he plays in the song. Video, for ye who haven't heard: Super fun, super awesome. Killing Boy - Frozen Music Standard tuning EADG Main line |--------------------------------------------------------------------| |--------------------------------------------------5-55--------------| |-----------------7-77-7-78-88-7-5-3/5-55-5-5-5-5-5-----8-7-7--------| |--55-55-5-5-5-5-5--------------------------------------------3-3/5--| Sometimes he adds an octave after the B note (5th fret) on the A string, which would be the 7th fret on the G. Middle section, at around 3 minutes This three times |-----------------------------------| |----------------------------5---3--| |--55-55-3-5-5-5-55-55-5-3-5---3----| |-----------------------------------| Then it goes into this somewhere |--------------------5---5-77-55-----------------| |----------------5-7---7---------75---5----------| |--55-55-3-55-57--------------------7---7-5-...--| |------------------------------------------------| (Something like that, it sounds like he just kinda winged it there) Then it returns to the line that lead into it, and eventually returns to the main line. Theres a section at the very end of the song, when it starts to wind down, and the bass is essentially the same thing as the line in the mid section, except it originates on the E string instead of the A.

Got a new bass, going on a kick trying to learn some songs, thought some people might benefit from the tabs i worked out. IDK how many people here play bass, or care about bass tabs but here it is. Should be pretty accurate, I like to think I'm not COMPLETELY tone deaf. There might some minor errors or a missing transitional bit or two, but this is the gist of the song. Phantasmagoria - Pixy False Standard tuning EADG Intro riff, used throughout the song |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |--2-2-2-22-22-2-0-3-3-3-30-00-0-0-2-2-2-22-22-2-0-3-3-3-35-55-3-0--| Verse |-----------------------------------| |-----------------------------------| |-----------------------------------| |--2-2-2-2-3-3-0-0-2-2-2-2-3-3-5-5--| The bass is so drowned out in this part, I can barely hear what the hell he's playing. I'm fairly sure he plays the intro riff during the verse, then just plays the root notes like this when the chimes come in. If you can clearly hear what he's doing here, you're doing better than I am. Bridge part |-----------------------------------| |-----------------------------------| |-----------------------------5-----| |--7-7---5-7-8-5~---7-7---5-7---5~--| You could probably play this at a lower position, using the open A and D strings, but he seems to be playing it this way in live footage. The quick part where it switches |----------| |----------| |----------| |--2--3-5--| The heavy srceam-y part of the pre-chorus |------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------------------------------------------------------------| |------------------------------------------------------------------| |--2--0-0--2--0-0--2--0-0--3--3-3--2--0-0--2--0-0--2--0-0--5--5-5--| Chorus |---------------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------------------------------------------| |--2-2-2-2-7-7-7-7-0-0-0-0-9-9-9-9-10-10-10-10-7-7-7-7-12-12-12-12-9-9-9-9--| A variation of that bridge line, played at the first half of the guitar solo -- played in a lower position |------------------------------------| |------------------------------------| |------------------------------------| |--2-2---0-2-3-0~---2-2---0-2-3-5~---|

such a bogus release. a friend of mine really digs schwarz stein, and he was pretty psyched to hear they had a new release. i can't imagine how much of a let down this will be to him. a bunch of boring ass hora solo tracks with kaya draped over them. sigh. at least we have queen this year.

it's been a decent year. plenty of good singles, and a couple cool albums. the highlight for me so far this year was definitely cage the elephant's "thank you happy birthday", followed by kaya's "queen". i was pretty surprised that queen was as good as it is. his last album was pretty forgettable with a few standout tracks, but this one has maybe 1 or 2 filler tracks at most. cage the elephant is just always cool all the time. not surprised that their new album was totally awesome through-and-through. not particularly looking forward to anything this year. i just wait and see what gets released, without bothering to check about future releases.

i dont usually like long tracks. electric wizard has some long ones. 'dopethrone' is 11 minutes, and its basically the best song ever created by mankind.

i hate the fuckin eagles man really tho, i don't like x japan at all. gay ass 80s metal that's just as gay and just as ass as all other 80s metal. i wouldn't say i hate them. the only band i flat out hate is megadeth because dave mustaine's voice is so incredibly unbearable.

i haven't heard from moi dix mois in like 700 years. i can't believe they're still recording, i thought they all got bored and stopped. i know i get bored and stop halfway through one of their albums. mana is gonna have to pull some serious tricks out of his hat if he wants to make this album not pale in comparison to hizaki's solo project. that, or he's going to have to change the direction of the band, because HGP basically did everything m10m does, just way better. the man got his toes stepped on big time.
