Because I'm up all night, tossing my thoughts about like a bad delay pedal. Also almost broke up with fiancee, 2 years on. Holy fucking heartbreak hotel, Batman. It has been a shit morning. The only real up beat thing here? Someone is playing Ni no Kuni. That's a plus. Always a plus.

YES. Going to the Albany show on the 24th of October. Very excited.

^^^ Devilslug's remix sucks too.

everyone can be too serious for the internet. the novelty wears off after a while, the compositions stand alone; lots of it feels like an unwarranted love letter from someone you used to date in high school. It's great -- It's nice to know the feeling is there; But it's almost like those days are good & gone, so you enjoy it while it lasts.

Either way it really fills the void for "newer" material. The approach they've took with Stu was pretty unsurprising, seeing as how they've been getting in touch their roots. Shinya is a weak link though. Dunno why homeboy doesn't practice. More Opeth-ian style stuff in the next album though for sure. They seem to like grandeur, and those savage riffs are perfect for their recent direction. I'd like to see an inclusion of more jazz oriented powerviolence sound ala Naked City. Kyo's avant garde vocal stylings as of late could very well be suited for that style.

Yeo, Mika's been the man since RES. Seriously solid drumming on all of Megiddo, and Bottom of Chaos. No wonder Kyo chose the band he did for his project. Insanely talented boys.

How the fuck is Dir en grey still even doing anything? I just heard some bits from Tour13 GHOUL, and was REALLY fucking disappointed. How has Shinya regressed THAT much?

It's Rentrer en kannival black out grey. 8/10 I wasn't really expecting an explosion of such prog elements that Dir en grey attempted to use back in 2011 with DUM SPIRO SPERO. What's amazing is the musicianship portrayed by MIKA, TAKUMI, YUCHI, and UTA. Alone, they steal the show, and destroy Kaoru/Die's progression throughout Dir en grey's *entire* career. Upon further inspection, there's more believable melodic bridging between heavier and lighter transitions in songs like "Madara Ningen" which uses exceptional use of flamenco style guitar playing, in a sort of "asian-mariachi"-esque, while maintaining the insanity from the beginning of the track (serious shredding from Takumi/Uta, holy fuck.) Use of atmosphere is important as well, as "hemimetabolism" perfectly describes what the track is -- an incomplete, but decidedly whole composition free of pre-disposed concepts. Strong tracks like "hidden one", "aftermath", and "nine melted fiction" really display the band's technicality, and proficiency at a level which the boys in Dir could never touch. Yuchi's already displaying himself as a master of the rhythmic back-end, displayed in "the daemon's cutlery" (which is by the by, the best not-dir en grey-but-dir en grey song, if not the only one.). Vocally though? Lots of Kyo's newfound love for what other fans online are calling "Kyopera". Not that it's a bad thing though, as it compliments most songs nicely. The only gripe I have with this wonderful piece of work is the fact that it suffers from being incredibly disjointed at points. I understand there's a really progressive japanese metal feel to it; however it marrs otherwise wonderful tracks like "scars like velvet", and "zephyr". Tl;dr : Kyo's new band blows Dir en grey's members out of the water with their technical/musical proficiency. Has ANYONE HEARD SHINYA PLAY DRUMS RECENTLY!? IT'S LIKE A TODDLER BANGING ON STUFF WITH NO AIM. This band will ease you into life without Dir en grey. It's a pretty solid first effort.

Ghoul DVD/Blu-Ray is out in a few days. Who's seen the last couple trailers?

Fuck the hate. Seriously, 8/10 for Different Sense. It's REALLY complex, and everything seems to really culminate at the end, the solo was cool as hell (props to K&D for ACTUALLY soloing in a song for once.), Toshiya's bass tone is crazy trebly, and juicy. Lots of thick bottom end coming from that rig he's playing now. As for Shinya, give him some props for those crazy phrases. The only gripe I have is with Kyo's vocals. As for Tsumi to Kisei...7/10 for effort. It's REALLY sludgy. I barely recognize it at ALL. It feels like they tried really hard to do something intriguing...but it's just...TOO FUCKING MUCH AT ONCE. I'm sure when they play it live it'll sound more cohesive. But HELL YEAH for toshiya's awesome slapping skills. I'm REALLY surprised at those fucking rolls. And...Red Soil? "- the verse sounds like a madeth gray'll cover. But with vocals 1/1000th as good as hisui's obviously. the headbang bits are pathetic." Thanks Herpes.

Replace Agitated Screams of Maggots with R to the Core. Then we have a winning setlist.

Hei guize. http://community.livejournal.com/jrockh ... ml?#cutid1 Read it. Suddenly, everything makes sense.

That would just be silencing a person's opinion. What about a neutral opinion? Like mine? Which is that it does not matter at all to me whether he gets better or if he is forever paralyzed and unable to create music ever again. If he is meant to continue making music he'll get better. If not? Well, I guess he wont be making music anymore, will he? Normally, I'd be entirely offended. but holy fuck. Check this shit out, we have smart people on TW aside from Will, Furik, Spike, & Champ. Yeah, life happens to all of us at some point. While I now know that he's talking, writing mails, and eating, He still could be stuck for the rest of his life, not being able to play entirely anymore.

I know...Honestly, this is the most devastating news I've heard in forever. Plastic Tree's helped me through my worst depression, so all I can do is pray for Ryutarou's health. That's all I really have left to say I guess.
-
Will just proved to me that time & time again he always has something worth while to say. But still, most of these artists in the visual scene/rather, ALL of Japan are more susceptible to disease because of the lack of real medical facts surrounding pill use, *condom use*(this is a big one guys. Dare I get into the rumors Shaura/Juka, Keiyuu, Suzune, etc?), and general health care -- period. these "made up" diseases are serious shit. I just hope Ryutarou recovers first, before Plastic Tree decides to do anything...
-
Will, we may not be on the same page most of the time, but I think you & I can agree that this cover is some what fantastic. Someone on Last.fm stated that "This is the only track on Stop Jap that Dir en grey could have used with their own style." and they couldn't be more than right. I'm not seeing what all the hate is about, it's just a fantastic take of a really old (legendary for the pig entrails being thrown during) song.

WHAT THE FUCK DOES EVERYONE THINK ABOUT IT!? I have no idea. what the fuck. i don't even. RLY. ???/10

Crisis Moment was okay when I heard it. Standard Merry fare, y'know? It didn't have that UMPH that The Cry Against... had. 7/10 Fleeting Prayer though...holy shit. When I heard this song on the remix track a couple months back, I knew it was going to be my favorite Merry song to date. Well, lo-and-behold, it is fucking brilliant. Gara's hushed despair, along side the rest of the band picking up the pace gradually, works exceptionally well. The only gripe I had with it, is that there wasn't an unexpected turn with off beats, right before the second verse. Shit would have been so cash. 9/10 Awesome single, once again. Merry has been on a winning streak lately, thank god. 8/10
