    07. Silence This Parasite

    08. A Fading Stance

    09. When The Joyful Dead Are Dancing

    10. Until Yet A Few More Deaths Do Us Part

In their own band biography they are being described as: "...a metal laboratory mixing elements of black/death/symphonic/melodic metal; progressive, classical, electro, folk, jazz, operatic, mathcore, ambient, noise, circus music and anything else crossing their minds. The collective includes a violin, keyboards/sampling, a singing contemporary dancer, a 9 stringed bass, 2 guitarists/singers and a drum."

This album is fascinating and interesting in every possible way music can be fascinating and interesting. From the incredibly diverse vocals to the high level instrumental work, the passion, the crazy lyrics and the puzzle style of songwriting, each song is different, each song is intense. It does take some effort to listen to those songs, UnExpect is anything but easy listening. But this effort is rewarded with an incredible experience. Many bands write chaotic songs. But not many manage to make chaotic songs sound as natural, catchy and memorable as UnExpect.

If you like music which doesn't care about established paradigms like common song and harmonic structures, if you like music you can explore over and over again and thus enjoy for a long time, give this album a listen. There's a good chance you will like it.

SMOHALLA portrays in their music passionately dramatic cloud- and landscapes swirling about in an iridescent Doré- and Turner-like vision of skies opening into abysses; swathed in fiery cloth, distant sights of shadows falling and rising from the abyss to the heavens and back again.

Here is another band from France that stretches the barriers of conventional music and in this case, black metal. A mosaic of distorted guitars, choirs, violins, electronic loops, noise, screams and clean vocals, synths etc that sounds more or less unique. Chaotic beauty in simple terms. Imagine it as the background music for the very first minutes of creation, the big bang.

  3. Neige: Well, listen to me Herbst, we have to write a new album for Lantlos

Herbst: Do you have anything new in mind, any new tunes?

Neige: Hmm, actually no. but I can write 4 or 5 songs within a couple of days. I'll make them really simple but the fans will love them, the hype you know...

Herbst: Let's put some jazzy shit there to make the songs sound weird!

Neige: Coool! And a really good artwork, a brilliant production and promotion from the label! But fuck, we have no songs now. But who cares?

Herbst: We can claim the songs are simple because we are modern and we make minimal music.

    Neige: You are on fire!!

Herbst: Well, let's start with B minor and then....hmm no inspiration, help me Neige!!

Neige: And...we end with B minor man! This is minimal!!

    Herbst: Awwweeesomeee!!

After one more listen, i realised the new Lantlos is really boring and bad. The so called "Jazz Parts" sound more like an Ambient Soundtrack for a boring Point and Click Adventure Game.Total Lack of Passion. There actually is no Songwriting at all. But the Production and the Performance (mainly the Drummer) is nice.

  4. I loved the older Atrocity Releases like "Todessehnsucht" and B.L.U.T which was the most superb and diverse Album they came up with. "Calling the Rain" and "Die Liebe" were nice in Terms of being understood as Experiments.

After that, Atrocity began to suck really bad, when "Willenkraft" was released. Ok, there were actually some storng Tracks on it like "Love is dead" but mainly, the Album was rather bad, compared to their former Releases. I don´t understand why they bother being a bad Industrial/Gothic Blah whatever Band. Their Strongspot is Death Metal. You can hear that clearly in Tracks like "Reich of Phenomena" (Atlantis Album). Doing the 80's Coverversion Album was a nice Idea, but they overdid it badly. "Werk 80 II" was redundant and the Coverversions are poorly executed. I rather keep listening to the Originals (just listen to the A-Ha Coverversion....yuck.)

Alex's long Hair or Livs Tits cannot save them from being plain boring.

  5. Fleshgod Apocalypse - The Egoism

ALBUM OF THE YEAR MY GOD ITS SO GOOOOOD.

    Ahem, okay I'm finished now.

Indeed, they really blew me away. The PV to "The Violation" is great too. Someone on Youtube described them as "Septic Flesh on Cocaine", and he is damn right. :banjo:
