  1. Did you really just compare feminism to nazism? At no point in history did nazism have a shred of positive ideology behind it. Communism is on the other spectrum of very radical ideals, which over the years literally caused the death of thousands. This is an entirely different conversation that in my opinion has no place in this topic. Your argument depends on women having the candidates who represent them to vote for, which in most countries, they don't. And the only reason why there are some candidates like that these days, is because of the feminism movement and the work it does. It absolutely is about the media. To be clear, I'm not talking only about the news. It's about the music, the movies, books, academia etc. I happen to also be a part of "this group" if you couldn't tell already, and let me tell you, there are bad apples in every movement, but it's just so juicy to cherrypick the loudest and most toxic ones for the sake of sensationalism and self preservation. Especially considering that ceding some of the absolute power to the previously marginalized group is threathing to shake the foundation of most mainstream media. Against what? Tell me what is it that you're against and there's a big chance it'll turn out we're actually on the same side. Men and women are also labels created by society. We need labels to represent complex ideas in short terms and also to easily find people who are like-minded. We could go through life calling every plant a plant, but when one of them is edible and another is poisonous suddenly it matters that you differentiate that label.

    Wow, ok no wonder I didn't think to click on that band image lol. Thank you very much! ^^

    It is??? Could you maybe send a link, I see fifteen different Razor's but not the right one T-T
  4. I agree with you, to a point. Feminism is, or at least its supposed to be advocating for equality not superiority of one sex over the other. That said, raising awareness and combating the abuse that men suffer, especially at the hands of women, is a part of the movement. The risk of humiliation and not being seen as "man enough" is a byproduct of toxic masculinity (a buzzword i know) which is a big topic in feminism. The fact that society unfairly favours women over men in custody battles, is similarily hundred years of harmful stereotypes stacked on top of each other. I don't think we should villanize the whole movement, because mainstream media chooses to only expose the worst of it, because that what gets the views. Now what is said on the video, is not precisely that more women become abusers, but more men report the abuse. Which all in all, is a good thing?
  5. I'm in a land of open fields and bad internet untill Monday. Wish me luck uh T-T

    that'm impressive really! XD I used to really like their concepts but only a few songs appealed to me. I used to be a big sceptic when it comes to digital content and paying for the stuff you don't really physically own. Steam got me used to it first, I suppose, now I don't even have a CDrom in my PC ^^; As for Spotify, it's a great place to get into new music imo, most importantly music that would not be readily available to you via mainstream media. I pay for premium and I think it's a steal with the amount of music I listen to on a daily basis. And it scrobbles automatically to last.fm ;=; Now even jrock/vk is jumping on the bandwagon (maybe more dipping their toes than jumping but hey, it's better than nothing!).

    Hehe, hello and thank you! ^^ I gotta admit the demographic's much more advanced in age than I've anticipated while joining. Which, for me, awesome, for industry probably not so much in the long run
  8. spockitty

    YES! Everything was in pieces good lord, I totally forgot about that ^^; I think even I used to upload my DVD's in like 7 parts or sth. Ahhh wow, Plastic Tree is still around??? You know what, I tried listening to baroque yesterday, went on Spotify and that profile is a mess, I think there are 3 different artists on there ;/ funnily enough there is another japanese artist by the name of baroque, he does electronic instrumentals. As for the rest, I know them all by name, but never gotten much into them, aside from Acid Black Cherry, that I was into pretty hard back in the day and RAZOR! I haven't heard much but I like what I have! The rest is going on my to-listen list, thanks ^^

    NO WAY THIS IS A THREAD THAT EXISTS HERE?????! HELLOOOOO~ YESSS GOOD, kinda wish they continued in a darker direction but it's a summer wave so I guess it can't be helped. THAT WILD ELECTRO SLAPS THO <3<3 never heard of them, they new? lacks some power behind it imo, but hey potential is there!
  10. Digging it much more than the last release uh. His voice's like fine wine damn, it's gotten even more beautiful over the years.
  11. spockitty

    I mean, it's a niche even in it's own country, so I feel like it's a winning lottery ticket to randomly meet someone who's into it on the other side of the world ^^; In my experience, it's way easier to meet some local fan online (and by local I mean, at least in your country lol) and then meet them irl.
  12. That's what I read somewhere also. And that the Hiro mentioned as the one producing this release is a different dude, just a coincidence in name. I can't find that article blah. Will link if I dig it out.
  13. spockitty

    Haha, what have I brought on myself with that title, smh. I've been in the kpop scene for so long and I'm really ancient there, so I didn't really expect the demographic here to be so much closer to my age than your average edgy teenager's. Should have figured~ Anyway, thanks! ^^
  14. spockitty

    Lol that would be something! And what's the first fav? Asking for a friend
  15. k, I'm outta this thread, see ya after the album release
  16. Ok, now I feel bad 😕 even though I've known this band for like 12 hours~
  17. spockitty

    ...or a roadside freak show
  18. spockitty

    LOL way to make me feel old
  19. spockitty

    I couldn't tell you how long it was going after I left, and I left around 2009 I think? And wow did talking about it led me down a not-exactly-pleasant memory lane 😕
  20. spockitty

    Haha, why? Think you were maybe a member there? ^.~ I did some internet sleuthing, to maybe at least find the name and through last.fm to livejournal, I found a link: http://z6.invisionfree.com/jmedia. The server's dead, so don't even try but that was it. I don't really remember what exactly went down tbh. I belonged to a tight knit group of RPers, and there was a lot of big (and sometimes angry) personalities there. some big names rage quit after a personal conflict and I removed myself from the toxic waste that remained in their wake. some friends' usernames I can recall: pixychild, night_of_pussy, misstressyoukai, sokstof, creepy31, maybe some of them will ring a bell?
  21. spockitty

    I do know batsu but nah, it was a smaller forum that went on for several years and then died in flames of internal drama. I still follow some of the members I used to be friends with on social media, but I couldn't even tell you the name of it at this point ^^;
  22. omfg my CDJapan account from 10 years ago still works! my last order was in 2011 :'D

  23. spockitty

    Never heard Mejibray, need to get onto that, for science. But I'm confused why do both of them need to sing? I mean, one has clearly a better voice and the other.....well....has a voice? I happen to like chiptune and 8bit so that's probably what got me hooked ^^;
  24. spockitty

    Yeah, Amazon's not so big in my country, for better or worse. But at least it's a proof they still exist! XD
  25. spockitty

    Haha, I've never had rl friends who were into vk, but I wasn't hurting for them? I was going to high-school in bumfuck nowhere and was already "that girl that moved from the big city" so funnily enough it afforded me more leeway with weird interests. I did participate in a forum similar to this one for years and that was my vk outlet. I remember I used to bring my vk CDs to school, since they were my precious babies and importing from Japan used to be a big deal. The funniest thing was showing Kaya's GLITTER to a bunch of normies and see their brains steam when I told them it's a dude. I don't think most of them believed me. Kaya's Glitter for reference: I then went on to college for japanese studies AND YOU WOULD THINK I would find fellow fans there but no. 90% of people were there because of manga/anime and even the (japanese) professors were surprised that Japan makes rock music??? My co-workers used to laugh at my "chinese metal", but no one was ever mean, so I guess I was lucky. I also don't have any kpop friends rl or online but I suppose NO ONE CARES ABOUT THAT HERE HUH
