    wiki:

Opeth is a Swedish progressive death metal band from Stockholm, formed in 1990. Though the group has been through several personnel changes, singer, guitarist, and songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt has remained Opeth's driving force throughout several years. While their style is firmly rooted in Scandinavian death metal, Opeth has consistently incorporated progressive, folk, blues, classical and jazz influences into their usually lengthy compositions. Many songs include acoustic guitar passages and strong dynamic shifts, as well as both death vocals and singing. Opeth rarely made live appearances supporting their first four albums; but since conducting their first world tour after the 2001 release of Blackwater Park, they have led several major world tours.

Opeth has released nine studio albums, three live DVDs, three live albums (two in conjunction with DVDs), and two boxsets

    Current members:

    * Mikael Åkerfeldt – lead vocals, guitars

    * Fredrik Åkesson – guitars, backing vocals

    * Martin Mendez – bass guitar

    * Martin "Axe" Axenrot – drums, percussion

My first Opeth record was actually "Ghost Reveries" but I like other records as well (especially Orchid)

Their longs tend to get boring sometimes, mostly because of their "abnormal" length (13-20 mins etc)

But there are still many great tracks.

    for eg.

    Anyways, enuff said.

    Opeth fans around here?

;S Yeah, sucks to be me.

Anyway, even if this is too early to say, but people can come to say hello to me. (Even though I know... one or two persons from here who I'm going to disturb there, even if I'm sure they don't want it. *insert trollface here*)

I guess i will hide in the booze zone :gaga: normal zone scares the shit out of me /i have no issues :gaga:

  4. We can organiseis MH meating in town before concert , it that good idea or not?

I will try to buy concert ticket

Uhh MH meeting ?- how many forum people are gonna gather around then?

I guess i should go all sneaky (aka angsty groupless/small group) - I am too embarassed of my jailbait look :devilwha:

    Hmm, I think... 5-7? D; Maybe more.

We'll see. I think I'll go with my friends, but let's see later if I would like to come to meeting. I'm not also sure what should I do after the gig - will I go to Omenahotelli too, or will I be the whole night in the city. :D

Oh I forgot that you are living far away from da Capital...Well good luck with Hotel/city adventures then :gaga:

I might go with friends as well - or stick to angstiness and meet old friends in that gig lawlz

Too many gigs in my to-do-list gaaasshhhh

  5. Also, I guess there's ships which go to Helsinki or Turku from different places in Sweden? Of course, travelling to some different country is expensive, but I'm not sure which would be the cheapest way. Or if you know some friends there who want to go too, and someone has a car (and can drive it), you could split the gas and drive here. :''''D (And use ferry D:) But that could be expensive yeah, but if you have a lot of friends who want to go there too, it'll get even more cheaper.

Oh, forgot to mention ferries, they are much cheaper than flights haha - thanks allisapp!

  6. Ooh, just read about it... three minutes ago. :D I think I'll go to Helsinki, let's see if the the tickets are sold when I'm thinking about buying a ticket

I am also considering attending in finland since there's no swedish date :emo:

Do you know how much it costs to travel to findland? lol :oro:

    Hmmmm

I heard that Gotlandsflyg has quite cheap-ish flights from Visby to Helsinki /unnecessary

But if you are gonna order flights thru Flysas for example, then it will cost about 2200 SEK from Stockholm to Helsinki

  7. Someone asked about Yayoi's current doings - According to vkdb he is currently in retirement, dunno why.

Anyways, what happened to Shun (ex-Kuroyume)/ SUPER DROP BABIES? They haven't released anything for a long time...just curious to know what happened to them

  9. primus.jpg

    So yes, this is Primus

    Ripped from wiki:

Primus is an American rock band formed in 1984, currently composed of vocalist and bassist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry "Ler" LaLonde, and drummer Jay Lane. Primus originally formed with Claypool, Todd Huth and Lane, with the latter two departing the band before Primus's debut release Suck on This, being replaced by drummer Tim "Herb" Alexander and Larry LaLonde. During this lineup, the band released four studio albums: Frizzle Fry, featuring "John the Fisherman", Sailing the Seas of Cheese, featuring "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver" and "Tommy the Cat", Pork Soda featuring "My Name Is Mud" and Tales from the Punchbowl, featuring their most commercially successful single, "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver". In 1996, Alexander left Primus and was replaced by Bryan "Brain" Mantia, with whom they would later release Brown Album and Antipop before placing Primus on hiatus in 2000. They were also known for creating the original theme for "South Park" in 1997.

Primus are characterized by their irreverent and often non-serious approach to music. They have released some of their records on Claypool's Prawn Song Records label, the title of which is a parody of Led Zeppelin's Swan Song label.

Bass rocks in their songs + that frickin funny psychovibe in their songs is LOVE  , no wonder that I like them

If you want to check em out, then you should try "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" first.

    My personal favorite:

    Any Primus fans around here?
