I've lurked around and floated between various musical subcultures for years without ever really committing to a single one, namely Goth, Visual Kei and Steampunk. I first discovered V-kei in 2005 when I did a high school exchange in Shizuoka prefecture (my first experience was nu Chemical Rhetoric by Merry and they've been my favorite ever since!) and fell instantly in love. Unfortunately, I never went to any lives then because I didn't really feel comfortable enough with my Japanese level or anything, so I'm making up for that now that I'm back in Japan! Many of my old favorites are no longer together so that just means I need to discover some new favorites~
