    Yeah, unfortunately D:
    It kinda freaked me out too at first, but then, the other services also required me to do that.
    They said it has something to do wth japanese law.

    Ugh I dislike fromjapan -.-"
    I always buy stuff from amazon jp/other sites and have the items shipped to tenso.com's address. (You can register on tenso.com so that you'll get your own japanese address!). This saves a lot especially if the magazines you want to buy are sold by the same seller. (No consolidation fees for items that come in a single parcel).
     
    That, or if you prefer buying service, there's ZenMarket
