We should be getting the song samples by next week. The ones for Arche were uploaded to YouTube 20 days before the album came out. I went back and listened to them and a lot of them like Phenomenon and Midwife are not very representative of the songs in retrospect.

What are you doing we’re not allowed to like things here.

That performance of Audience Killer Loop was great, and that was one of the best live versions of 詩踏み I’ve seen. STU never sounds good live no matter how many times they insist on playing it, mostly because Kyo can’t or won’t perform the verses in a way that remotely resembles the studio version which isn’t even that great of a song to begin with.
-
Ningen sounds pretty good live besides the chorus being way different. Kyo seems to often sing the backing harmony rather than the main melody live like in Uroko which kinda ruins the melody.
-
Those albums don’t really fit into clearly defined metal sub-genres.
-
I’m not getting the same vibes from the art as a lot of people here it seems. It looks like something a band like Deafheaven would use. I personally like it and I definitely think that it would still fit a dark album even if it’s not a generic all black metal album cover.
-
Let’s be honest, people here would find a way to hate it no matter what it looked like.
-
I knew I recognized that font somewhere lol, it does look like that In Flames font. Their recent merch has also had a sort of deathcore circa 2009 look too although I don’t mind it, it seems like a tasteful homage to that aesthetic.
-
I think the 3rd one is the official album artwork? The others are for the special edition and DVD or BR or whatever I think. I really like it though, and I’m glad it doesn’t have the band name or title on the front obscuring the artwork.

Lol I can see how someone might not like Midwife but it’s actually one of my favorite songs of theirs post-DSS. I like how the first half is clean vocals and the second is harsh vocals, but it doesn’t feel disjointed. I like the mathcore-ish dissonant chords that give it that sense of anxiety. It sounds like a way better version of what they tried to do on some WTD tracks.

Arche has some great songs but it’s not very fun to listen to all the way through. There are too many songs that are neither fast and heavy nor melodic and emotional so they just end up in a really boring middle ground. I love songs like Rinkaku, Behind a Vacant Image, Kaishun and Tousei, or on the opposite end of the spectrum, songs like Midwife, Revelation of Mankind, Uroko and The Inferno. But, like, does anyone really like Soshaku that much? Or Sustain the Untruth? Some of the songs just felt like filler.

I don’t really get why Kyo hates Guaze so much, there are a lot of similarities between Guaze and Macabre/Kisou and Sukekiyo’s music.
-
Die has changed even less imo.
-
I can’t really listen to the old version of Uroboros since the vocals are nearly inaudable half the time.
-
Idk egnirys has always been one of my least favorite songs of theirs. It just sounds kinda goofy and awkward. I don’t dislike it but they have way more memorable songs that are still experimental. I like the mode of macabre performance though.
-
Does anyone know what order they did the mode of tours in? I know they started with Guaze but then they went to Vulgar and then DSS I think and I lost track.
-
Yeah sorry but there is nothing brilliant about self-harm.
-
From what I’ve read the new new song is a faster/heavier one so there’s no way it’s the same song. I talked to someone who saw it live and they said it was mostly shouting vocals.
-
They’re trolling.
-
Where did you find this? I’m guessing this is Ranunculus because it’s slow and ballad-ish. It sounds good from what little I can make out although it sounds more like a sukekiyo song tbh. I’m hoping we get some more aggressive stuff since I can listen to sukekiyo for this style.
-
I just wish the harsh vocals were less muffled and buried in the mix. The Beautiful Dirt remix had the same problem. His cleans sound fine but his screams are poorly produced and mixed and his mid-range harsh vocals kinda suck lately but he seems to be all about them again.
-
I don’t hate it as much as some people but I feel like the harsh vocals are too muffled and quiet in places and the bass is not very audible. Other than that it’s fine.
-
Sustain the Untruth sounds slightly different to me. The screams in the second verse.
-
I love how raw and crazy the screaming is on MOAB.
