I know, but it’s not like I’m gonna use the physical CD either, 99% of the time I’ll listen to it digitally so I’d rather have the bigger art and stuff.

I’m still holding out for a vinyl release I know a lot of people hate the artwork on this but I like it a lot which makes me want it more. I think it conveys the feeling of loneliness and being an outsider without being generic faux-goth like WtD or something.

I hope so. I’m not the type to get worried/emotional about celebrities I don’t even know irl but these lyrics really freak me out a bit. His other lyrics have had a poetic feel or just come of as him trying to shock people and be edgy but these seemed way more real. However he did say in a couple interviews that he was very adamant about Keibetsu to Hajimari being the first track and Ranunculus being the final track so it’s a good sign that the album ends with the one somewhat hopeful song.

For some reason disc 2 is much lower volume than disc 1. Idk if this is the rip (it sounds high quality besides the low volume) or the fact that it had different engineers. I still think it’s weird that disc 2 isn’t on iTunes.

Kyo uses alternate Kanji all the time. Like I said I just copied and pasted those lyrics. I don’t have the booklet.

I got these lyrics from a lyric wiki that you are a the top contributor on... Some sites have it written one way and some the other so I don’t know which way is official.

Keibetsu to Hajimari, Devote My Life, Aka, Keigaku no Yoku, and Ranunculus are probably my favorites.

赫 is normally pronounced “kaku” instead of “aka” as well. Some Japanese fans have nicknamed it 赤赤 “aka aka” which I think is funny.

訳 is used differently grammatically but yeah. Kyo really likes to be clever and obscure with his Kanji use. The lyrics to 理由 have so many outdated alternate Kanji that my gf can’t even read it. I actually really like the Kigan remake although I never had a huge emotional attachment to the original. I like the more aggressive chorus while retaining the feel of the verses but I can understand someone not liking the changes since the atmosphere is different even if the composition hasn’t changed much.

I use “riyuu” when speaking in Japanese (my gf is Japanese and I’ve never heard her pronounce it “wake”) but the song itself is definitely supposed to be pronounced “wake”. The Japanese fan community cares a lot about the correct pronunciation and checks the reading Kyo uses.

That’s how I feel about the new versions of the singles from this album. I can’t tell if they are better or worse, it’s just jarring when I’m expecting a line to be delivered one way and it’s different. The gang vocals on Utafumi are really bad though but I like vocals at the very end after the final chorus better I think.

The live tracks are surprisingly really good. I was not expecting much after that awful rendition of Utafumi from the last single.

None of them were changed that much compositionally. It probably won’t affect the live versions that dramatically.

Yeah for some reason the growls are mixed like on the original Uroboros release. Also his voice noticeably cracks towards the beginning of that growling part (this happens somewhere else on the album too but I forget where). I’ve been doing harsh vocals for a long time so I can tell exactly what happened there and I have no idea why he wouldn’t do another take besides wanting it to sound raw or imperfect on purpose. Or just not caring I’ve recently found that this whole album sounds a lot better on my phone speaker somehow lol.

Oh and the girl screaming for Toshiya during Ash... lol.

Oh man the remakes are great. Not too different but still awesome. The new ending to 理由 is so beautiful, I just wish it didn’t fade out so soon.

I thought Arche had great production tbh. Has anyone heard the remakes yet? According to the Japanese thread I’ve been following the 理由 remake has extra lyrics at the end like in the mode of Macabre performance. People are crazy about the Deeper Vileness remake. I’m a little concerned about the 鬼眼 one though since a bunch of people’s reaction was literally just “鬼眼ワロタ” (“I lol’d at Kigan” basically). Apparently it reminds some people of old-school video game music.
