Pandabear 414 Posted August 11, 2011 Zhong Chi is a Chinese trip hop artist who grew up in Denmark under the influence of Northern European music. She started to explore the world of music herself since she turned 18 and met famous Shanghai electro musician Jiayang Yixi (嘉洋溢西) in 2005. With him, she spent 2 years playing music and doing tryouts; the result of this collaboration was her debut album, entitled ‘Easy World’, published at the end of 2007 by SOMA ART (索玛文化). As a live performer she immediately attracted many of the best musicians to join her live set and her concerts are a complete joy, both audibly and visually. Zhong Chi - Rain V910OtNuZeA Her voice melts my face off. Loved Easy World and upped it incase wants to hear it. Sadly I haven’t heard any type of update from her. Music or career wise. And from what I can tell, even though they have Easy World on Itunes, the album no longer has a physical Cd Distributer. I’m hoping this wasn’t a once in a lifetime release type of thing because I’d love to hear more from her.

Neat The 1st song was nice. Especially since it was acoustic and I had only heard her sing in English thus far. The 2nd song may go back to her signature Trip-Hip style but I think it's the darkest song she's done.

I was surprise to hear she did actually sing in Chinese the first time i hear that track, but it was a great song nevertheless. A prove that she can do well in both language. Like you i hope that she will release something for us here. I am keeping my finger cross for that for chinese artist have a tendency to release something and wait a LONG (by long, i mean really long, sometimes between 3~8 years) time till they release a new record. Pandabear 414 Posted August 15, 2011 ^ I don't know much about the waiting periods of Chinese releases between albums, but if that's true that's a hell of a long time. But it may also mean she may release something soon. It's been like 3-4 years since Easy World. I guess we might have to wait an additional 3 years or so. Pandabear 414 Posted January 5, 2012 Just realized she released another new song at the end of September. It's great. Really relaxed and has sort of a oriental feel to it. Of course that could be because the track is in Chinese. W/e. I'm just glad she's releasing new material and is being active again. I hope this means new releases and a possible album for this year. http://edge.neocha.com/chinese-creatives/tracks-new-song-from-shanghai-based-indie-songstress-zhong-chi/
