kai_desu 340 Posted October 23, 2010 DVDFab does a pretty bang up job. The free version only allows you to copy the DVD in a DVD folder structure (ie. VOB files). Paid version can of course rip to .avi, .mp4, etc. But, if they just want the DVD on their PC, I'd go for DVDFab
Nyasagi 259 Posted October 23, 2010 You don't need a program to copypaste VOB files into your hd, lol.

SUBLIMINAL 52 Posted October 23, 2010 Does anyone know of one for Linux?
kai_desu 340 Posted October 23, 2010 Forgot about Handbrake. Can use it to copy DVDs to AVI/whatever. Linux version available as well. You'll have to use DVDFab or something similar if the DVD has copyright protection first. http://handbrake.fr/details.php

I've never had any problems with these... I always copypaste files easily, there is no protection and I don't know about the region locks, I live in Europe, so we use the same region as Japan. I usually copypaste the files and convert them with Total Video Converter... but it isn't free I think. I don't remember xD
maki.filth 0 Posted October 24, 2010 I use DVD Decrypter. I'm pretty sure it's freeware.
