1106 Music and Lyrics: Matsumoto Kenta Dear xx, I wonder if you’re getting used to your new life?* You’re probably worried about a lot of things, but Is there a sea over there? The sweets you like that haven't changed at all over the years Going from your usual seat to the balcony Even the sun shining on the smoke from your cigarette I’m remembering all those things vividly The lullaby of the tapping sound of the ship** Looking out towards the open sea On clear days, and on rainy days and cloudy days too The lullaby of the tapping sound of the ship Looking out towards the open sea On clear days, and on rainy days and cloudy days too Being rocked by the waves… Far away, so far away that it's astonishing You’ve taken off on a journey to somewhere faraway Hey, is it okay if I sing so I can remember you, on days when things don’t go my way?*** You taught me to do that, right? That’s what you taught me…isn’t it? I started wanting to hear your voice So I did an impression of you and laughed At 4:49, the mundane scenery was transformed The lullaby of the tapping sound of the ship Looking out towards the open sea On clear days, and on rainy days and cloudy days too The lullaby of the tapping sound of the ship Looking out towards the open sea On clear days, and on rainy days and cloudy days too Being rocked by the waves… The wind is cold and the lattice door is shaking My body is getting chilled by the draft entering through it, But without letting out even a single little sound, I’m heading towards the sea I wonder how many times I’ve been saved by pretending that everything is okay Far away, so far away that it's astonishing You’ve taken off on a journey to somewhere faraway Hey, is it okay if I sing so I can remember you, on days when things don’t go my way?*** So I can see if you’re out there somewhere, wave your hand… So they can see you from even where the anchor has been dropped, wave your hand… Yours truly,**** Notes: *It seems to imply that this is someone who has moved away, but it might also apply to someone that has died **Do ships make a tapping sound? I feel like this might mean a different noise, but I can’t really imagine what it would be *** I feel like I might be reading this line wrong as well ****Kenta doesn’t sing this line, but it was in the kanji and I think it ties the letter theme of the song together nicely, so I left it in 1106 Haikei atarashii seikatsu ni Narete kita tokoro deshou ka Shinpai na koto wa takusan arimasu ga Socchi ni umi wa arimasu ka? This is a little sketchy, so don't take my word for it if something sounds wrong, but I really wanted to try to do an EVERLONG track in English. There's something really sweet - almost childish - about the tone of Mitsuhiro's lyrics. ヨナギ / Evening Calm God doesn't exist, but Even if there's no one to hear, Somehow, I still find myself praying now “There's no such thing as eternal life” The girl who told me that, She already can't go to the land of toys You're drifting about and sleeping on a sunken ship And now, I'm riding on the back of a whale that's rocking from side to side, side to side,* Searching for you You're not here, And I have every night of my life left to sail until I find you** You're not here, And I have every night of my life left to sail until I find you Right? Your red blood has a timbre that can melt through the ice Somewhere, even now, it's still flowing Our never-ending love was blazing, And that fire is still burning gently now, So it can light your way wherever you are You're smoking a cigarette by the shoreline, And the smoke is obscuring your outline While I'm searching for you You're not here, And I have every night of my life left to sail until I find you You're not here, And I have every night of my life left to sail until I find you Right? You're drifting about and sleeping on a sunken ship And now, I'm riding on the back of a whale that's rocking from side to side, side to side, Searching for you You're not here, And I have every night of my life left to sail until I find you You're not here, And I have every night of my life left to sail until I find you Right? Notes: *In hindsight, it might actually be the girl riding the whale - it's not really clear **I don't know if I'm reading this right, but I think the idea is that the girl has passed away and he's searching for her in his dreams ヨナギ / Yonagi Kami-sama nante sonzai wa shinai kedo Hontou wa inai kedo Dokoka de, ima mo negatteru “Eien nante sonzai wa shinai yo” to Sou itta ano ko wa mou Omocha no kuni ni wa Ikenakunatte Chinbotsusen de TAYUTAU to nemuru kimi ni, ima Yurayura yurayura KUJIRA ni notte Kimi o sagashiteru Kimi ga inai to isshou koukai suru yoru ga aru n da ne Kimi ga inai to isshou koukai suru yoru ga aru n da yo Nee Anata no akai chi wa koori ga tokeru neiro Dokoka de, ima mo nagareteru Owaranu ai ga enjou shite ita nara Sono hi wa aoku moete Anata no tokoro o terasu kara Kaigansen de PUKAPUKA to TABAKO o fukashiteru Kemuri wa rinkakusen o ootte Kimi o sagashiteru Kimi ga inai to isshou koukai suru yoru ga aru n da ne Kimi ga inai to isshou koukai suru yoru ga aru n da yo Nee Chinbotsusen de TAYUTAU to nemuru kimi ni, ima Yurayura yurayura KUJIRA ni notte Kimi o sagashiteru Kimi ga inai to isshou koukai suru yoru ga aru n da ne Kimi ga inai to isshou koukai suru yoru ga aru n da yo Nee Kanji: Video is subtitled, + http://www.jpopasia.com/group/everlong/videos/yonagi::56008.html

Here's another interview I translated a while ago. You can see how shoddy my Japanese is with this one because there are a few lines I just didn't get. I decided to highlight them in red rather than guess. ^ETA: hiroki kindly helped me out with the lines I was missing, so I've filled in those parts in highlighted in red. Thank you! <3 Original article: http://2youmag.com/2youmag_old/interview/2014/no41/pot.html -- A melodic punk band with Japanese lyrics coming out of Osaka, POT will release their first full album “ARCO IRIS” on TRUST RECORDS. TRUST RECORDS has signed a number of Nagoya bands such as BACK LIFT, THREE LIGHTS DOWN KINGS, ENTH, EVERLONG and more, but they are the only band from Osaka. This new release could be considered a compilation of five years of work, and it has twelve songs that show off the band’s distinctive triple vocal approach and plenty of variety. Disproving the idea that “TRUST = Nagoya”, POT have come from the west to take over the scene! Q: How was POT formed? Yoppy: Originally, me and Oda were in a band together, and Makoto and Yoshikun were in a different band. Then when both of our bands broke up the manager of the venue Kyobashi ism said “Guys, wouldn’t it be great if you started playing together?”. We weren’t really interested at first, though. Makoto: We knew of each other since both of our bands played at ism, but we weren’t really friends. I casually thought "I'll offer support for them", but when we entered the studio we decided to do a live. That's how we formed the band. Yoppy: At the time, I was starting another band, so I thought it would just be Oda going off to work with them, but in the end that band fizzled out as well and we ended up doing it together. Q: So you weren’t enthusiastically going “Let’s start a band!” when you got together… Makoto: It does sort of seem like we were forced into it. (laughs) Oda: That’s why we didn’t really talk about what kind of band we wanted to become either. Yoppy: It was only when Yoshikun said that he wanted to be the vocalist that we said “Doesn’t that seem a little off?” (laughs) But we never really discussed musicianship, we just jumped right into making original songs. Well, I guess that’s because the music we were listening to was similar. Q: What kind of bands make up your musical roots? Yoppy: MONGOL800. I think we all like them. Makoto: The band that got me interested in making music was 175R. I listened to “Happy Life” a lot. I think before that it was probably Yuzu? Yoshikun: Yeah, that’s right. I was listening to Yuzu and 19 (ジューク). Oda: Yeah, it was 19 (ジューク) for me too. Q: I see. So the reason POT has three vocalists is just because you all wanted to sing, then. (laughs) Yoppy: That’s right. (laughs) Since in our former band Oda and I used to do twin vocals and Yoshikun used to sing in his band as well, when we started POT we didn’t really think about who would be the main vocalist and it just spontaneously ended up with all of us singing. So we weren’t really aiming at having a triple vocal band, it just became this way naturally. Q: What kind of band is POT, in your eyes? Makoto: I think it’s a free band. Yoppy: A band where we’re free to do what we like to do…saying something like that is boring, isn’t it? (laughs) You see that kind of answer a lot in interviews. (laughs) Maybe I should change my answer. (they all laugh) Oda: Some older musicians have told us that we’re an “omnibus-like” band. Yoppy: I was really happy to hear that. The musical style of "POT" is entirely different, and with 3 people singing during the same song there isn't any sense of "unity"*. Since one of our senpai told us that we’re an omnibus-like band I’ve become especially conscious of that. (*Meaning that there is a varied sound they can only achieve with three vocalists. I think what he's getting at is that because they switch between vocalists and combine their voices in different ways over the course of each track their songs don't get monotonous.) Q: It’s kind of like the way The Beatles worked, then. You bring together songs from each member and you each sing them. Yoppy: That’s it. The Beatles, that’s us. (laughs) Q: We know that your first full album “ARCO IRIS” will be released by TRUST RECORDS, but how did you end up with them? Makoto: We played a lot of shows with bands like BACK LIFT, MISTY, ENTH and EVERLONG. But we’d never really talked to the owner Watatani-san much. Yoppy: We just sort of said amongst ourselves that we wanted to join TRUST, and it was just like we were suddenly pushed in. (laughs) Q: So you asked them directly? Yoppy: Yeah, we totally did. But us selfishly, or should I say stubbornly, going “Please let us join your label” and them deciding by going “Well, I guess you can” looks pretty bad. In the end, I wanted it to be the reverse with them asking us (laughs). Makoto: We had meetings for about a half a year. (laughs) Yoppy: Yeah, and in the end TRUST said “Do you want release something with us?” Q: So in the end they asked you (laughs). Yoppy: Yeah, and we were like “Well, since you asked, we’ll take you up on it.” (they all laugh) Makoto: And yet, we were so happy. (laughs) Q: From your view outside of Nagoya, what kind of label is TRUST RECORDS? Yoppy: It really does have a completely Nagoya image, doesn’t it. I would almost say that it’s like their Nagoya colours are so strong that it’s like “Aren’t all Nagoya bands on TRUST?”. That’s why I thought it would be interesting to have a band from Osaka on the label. Q: This album really seems like a compilation of everything you’ve done up till now. I also thought it’s kind of rare these days to debut with a full-length release. Makoto: Yeah, all the TRUST bands seem to lead off with a mini-album. But we wanted to release all our existing songs in this album and make a fresh start. That’s why it’s packed with everything we’ve released so far. And this is the first time we’ve really gotten a CD pressed. Now it’s easy to get something pressed, but some people told me they were really grateful that we’ve finally released something with nationwide distribution. I was so moved by that. This time, we were even deeply involved with the details of the jacket, so we’ve put a lot of strong feelings into the package. Yoppy: I really don’t want people to listen to it on random. I hope they’ll listen to the songs in order at least once. That’s the voice of my heart calling out to you. (laughs) Q: It seems like there are new meetings ahead of you. Yoppy: The reason we make CDs is to get people to come to the venues. If people think the CD is good, I hope they’ll come and get the 3D experience at one of our lives. Oda: Over the past five years POT has created a staggering amount of songs, but we chose the ones on this album out of all of those, so please enjoy listening to them. Yoshikun: There are some people we used to meet up with at the live houses all the time that we haven’t been able to see recently. I hope this CD will give us a chance to see them again. I’m also looking forward to meeting new people in regions that we haven’t been able to visit yet. Yoppy: Huh? Are you crying? (they all laugh) -- POT: Yoshikun (Vocals and guitar), Yoppy (Vocals and bass), Oda (Vocals and guitar), Makoto (Drums)

Again, not my interview. I just translated it from Japanese. Here's the original article: http://2youmag.com/2youmag_old/interview/2014/no38/ever.html -- A three-piece band with a unique point of view located squarely in the middle of Nagoya’s melodic punk scene, EVERLONG will release their first full-length album “Plant Worm”. Calling their music “poppy, simple and catchy”, they’re experiencing a big surge in popularity nationwide. We hope that you can see how they have progressed since their previous release “Lovers”. Q: So you’re finally releasing a full album. Mituhiro: Yeah, we were finally able to do it. This time composing songs was really hard. “Lovers” was a song we just came up with while we were having fun, but this is the first time we actually had to think about making an album while we were writing. But we really honed the core of our sound with this album, so I have confidence in it. Q: “Lovers” was released only a year after you formed the band, but what were the reactions like? Mituhiro: People we didn’t know started coming to our lives. I was really shocked by that at first. Yuta: I’d be sitting at the merch table, and a variety of audience members would come up and say “I listened to your CD” or “I watched your PV”. For people to say that they were listening to our music , and that they liked it, that was a huge change after the CD was released. Mituhiro: So I’m really happy that now we can release a full album like this. Q: Do you have a concept for the album? Mituhiro: It’s “memories”. We made the album thinking of our single “Orange” as its centre, and we were trying to make a release packed with various memories and overflowing with vitality. Q: What does the title “Plant Worm” mean? Yuta: The name is a reference to “caterpillar fungus” (Ophiocordyceps sinensis), a fungus that parasitizes bugs. Mituhiro: I read a lot of books, and one mentioned the “caterpillar fungus”. In the winter, it parasitizes a bug, then the bug dies and it absorbs its life force and becomes a mushroom, and it almost seems like it can grow into a plant or person too. I thought, “Wow, this thing is just full of vitality”, and I wanted to name the album “touchuukasou” (“caterpillar fungus”). Yuta: I thought the part about changing from a bug to a plant with the seasons was a good link to how we’ve changed. That’s what the title means. Q: Yes, I felt the change you’ve undergone in the song “Orange”. In particular, I felt like the way you wrote the lyrics was a little different. Mituhiro: I want to be able to say things without being afraid of misunderstandings, but otherwise I don’t really know whether we’re a band that writes English lyrics, or if we’re a type “A” band or type “B”. I want to establish our originality, so people can say “This is like EVERLONG”. I think that came to fruition with “Orange”. With this album, coming up with “Orange” was really important. Q: Speaking of originality, I think it really came out with a bang in the sense your Japanese lyrics have. Mituhiro: I’m happy to hear that. Q: I’ve also never heard a melodic punk band use the word “shiyashanse” in their lyrics. (laughs) Mituhiro: Ahahaha. Yuta: That’s because we actually started writing the song “Gunjou tansan” by thinking that we wanted to use the word “shiyashanse”. (laughs) Mituhiro: I think that word has a good feeling to it. When I had “shiyashanse”, the hook and melody just suddenly came to me. I also played around with a lot of other words in that song, so it’s a really special song for me. I think it’s kind of like what would happen if we made “Orange” more fun. On this album, I guess maybe what we’ve done is take different approaches to the world view we had in “Orange”. Q: Is there a song you’re particularly attached to in terms of guitar playing? Yuta: “MAYOICOM” started from a guitar riff, but since I was able to do what I wanted with it, I’m happy with that song. Mituhiro: "Venus" is good too. Yuta: Yeah. With this album, I think I was able to achieve what I wanted to with each song. Mituhiro: Well, in any case, the guitar on this album is cool. Q: In track 8, “K.I.M”, are you singing about Kimu-kun*? (Note: *Their drummer’s name is Kimu) Yuta: It’s totally about Kimu. (laughs) Mituhiro: I wonder if it’s okay to talk about this? (laughs) Kimu: It’s fine. (laughs) Mituhiro: We’re all classmates, but this time, only Kimu had to repeat a year. (they all roar with laughter) Yuta: It’s a “Please give me one more chance” song. Kimu: It’s “One more time, one more chance”.**(they all roar with laughter) (Note: **This is a line from the song, and it’s in English in the lyrics. Yuta paraphrases it in Japanese, and Kimu quotes it directly in English) Yuta: It’s a message song to his family. (they all roar with laughter) Mituhiro: Yeah, this became the most real song on the album. (laughs) Q: So emo. (laughs) This new album also has “Smile” on it, so it seems like a bit of a summary of the band’s history so far. Yuta: Yeah. “Smile” has some of the very first music we made in it, and since it was released on a limited CD I’m happy we were able to put it on the album. After all, I definitely want people outside of that area to be able to listen to it. Q: I’m sure that after listening to this album people will be surprised by how much you’ve grown in such a short period of time. Mituhiro: Thank you. I talked to the members about this as well, but I really feel like our sound has been refined because there are so many other bands from the same generation around us. Q: How do you see the rise of the Nagoya melodic punk scene? Mituhiro: I never really wanted to become a “Nagoya melocore band”, but because I wanted EVERLONG to get established, we joined TRUST RECORDS, but I don’t really pay any special attention to the scene. Q: I see. Maybe that comes out in your music as well. Like it doesn’t really seem to belong to anywhere. Mituhiro: I want to make a band that’s unique. For example, we recently played a live with MINAMI NiNE, and they’re really one of a kind. I want us to become a band like that. Q: When I heard you play a song with “shiyashanse” in the lyrics, I started to feel that way about EVERLONG. Mituhiro: Ahahaha. Yuta: That’s because when we put it in the we were saying “There probably aren’t that many bands that will write ‘shiyashanse’ in their lyrics” to each other. (laughs) Mituhiro: On our previous mini-album when I wrote the line “hamigaki shi-nagara MOONIN MOONIN”*** for the song “Tomorrow”, people told me it was lame. But since that sort of thing leaves an impression on people, I decided to look at it as a positive. (Note: ***Something like “While I’m brushing my teeth, moaning moaning”) Q: Once again, what kind of album would you say “Plant Worm” is? Kimu: I think it’s album unlike anything we’ve done before and one where we’ve taken on new challenges. I think we’ll be able to take a new step forward. Yuta: I think in our previous work we had collected a lot of influences from other bands and they came out a lot, but this time I think little by little we’re beginning to move away from that and EVERLONG’s true essence is starting to present itself. Mituhiro: Yeah, EVERLONG is finally becoming EVERLONG. This is an album where we really put a lot of effort into honing the essence of the band, and I’m confident that when people hold it in their hands they’ll be able to say “They’ve finally become EVERLONG”. Yuta: You’re really set on that, aren’t you? (laughs) Q: That sounded a little too cool, so to finish up, Kimu-kun, why don’t you leave a message for your parents? (laughs) Mituhiro: Wahahaha. Kimu: Dad, mom, thanks for always being so kind. I’m going to keep doing my best at college for a little longer, so please give me a chance. (they all roar with laughter) EVERLONG: Mituhiro (vocal and bass), Kimu (drums and chorus), Yuta (vocal and guitar) Website: http://everlong-nagoya.com/

Not my interview, I just translated from here: http://2youmag.com/2youmag_old/interview/2014/no40/noa.html My Japanese sucks, so I marked anything that might be way off with a *. -- A band that has performed at festivals like FUJI ROCK, COMIN’ KOBE, SSMC and embarked on large-scale tours, Osaka’s NOA is certainly a young, first-rate band that has shown growth and one that THE NINTH APOLLO can be proud of, and now they’ve released a four-track single that could be called their defining work “3days of April / Sekai no owari to yoake mae”. This is their first release in a year, and it clearly presents the two pillars of the band: the melodic punk with English lyrics from Nishiura Shunsuke and Japanese rock from Tsumoto Aki, which coexist in this work. We hope you can appreciate this release; four songs packed with the essence of the current NOA. Q: This is your first release in a year, what were you up to during that time? Aki: We were playing a lot of concerts. The year went by in the blink of an eye. Nishiura: Before we noticed, 2013 was over. (laughs) Q: Your previous release “picture diary” was your first to feature Japanese lyrics. What were the reactions to that like? Aki: I think it went over pretty well. I was a little nervous about that though. (laughs) Nishiura: It was a spontaneous decision to start using Japanese lyrics. Aki just said that he wanted to try singing in Japanese. I think Aki has given NOA an even greater range of possibilities by doing that. Q: So NOA has two pillars now, Aki-kun singing in Japanese and Nishiura-kun singing in English? Aki: It’s not something we were aiming for, this is more a result of us each just making music we like. We want to do different things. But I’m starting to think that that’s a good thing. We don’t want to be a band that people get tired of listening to, so we’re not going to fight the urge to do different things. Q: So, is it safe to say that instead of a starting the band with a clear genre or theme in mind, NOA was formed by the members bringing together the types of music they liked? Aki: We did start this band with a plan, but it was never really like “Let’s do this kind of music”. Nishiura: Even now, I don’t think we’ve really decided on one particular genre. Q: Of course. When did you start working on this new single? Nishiura: Sometime around last summer. Aki: Right after we finished our “picture diary” tour, we started thinking about the next move. We’d decided that we were going to make a single next, but since we were doing too many lives we didn’t really get a chance to work on it until the tour was over. Q: On this single you can really see the different colours of the band - the melodic punk side and the guitar rock side - coexisting. Aki: Yes, I guess it came out that way. Nishiura: Yes, but we didn’t really have a concept in mind. It feels more like Aki and I both just did what we wanted and it came out this way. Q: Aki-kun and Nishiura-kun’s songs clearly have a different colour, but the way that NOA can contain both of them is interesting, isn’t it? Aki: I’m happy you feel that way. I started wanting to try to make music in Japanese, so this single is half Japanese, but I think it really reflects the current NOA well. Q: So, how do you approach each other’s music? Aki: How do we…? Nishiura: We don’t really interfere with each other’s work. I guess you could say that we respect the creator’s intention. Aki: Yeah, we don’t interfere with each other. Nishiura: Aki’s songs are Aki’s songs. It’s the same with mine. Aki: Regardless of whose song we use, if the three of us play it, it becomes NOA. Q; So maybe it’s like the way The Beatles worked? Like how even if each member would bring in songs that were completely different, they would bring them into existence together? Aki: That, that’s cool, isn’t it? (laughs) From now on, we’re going to describe ourselves like that. (laughs) Q: In your mind, what kind of band is NOA? Aki: We’re by no means a cheerful band, we’re not really a band will get people in high spirits or make them smile, but I want NOA to be a band that respects the individual feelings of people who listen to our music, and one that helps people see things in a deeper light.* Q: So, let’s come back to this again, what kind of work is this single to you? Aki: Since I think it’s natural to think that our most recent work is the best, naturally, this new single is our best yet. Nishiura: Personally, I think that this work is an important foothold for our next step. I think it’s easy to see where the band is headed by listening to it. Q: Does the band have a specific outlook? Aki: I can’t really pinpoint one. We’ll do what we like to do, and then I want a variety of other people to give us their impressions.* Nishiura: NOA has two pillars, but I think it’s when those two pillars finally meet somewhere that we’ll really be able to see where we’re headed. Q: I really feel that you can see your individual colours clearly in this work. I’m excited to see how those two colours will mix. Nishiura: Since they’re so clearly divided on this single, we’re also excited to see how we can bring them together. Q: Lastly, please leave a message for your listeners. Yuu: I want people to listen to this single during their everyday lives. It’s not really for special times, so if people listen to it during their daily routine I’d be happy.* Nishiura: There are different ways of listening to it depending on the person, so I’d be really happy if a lot of different people listened to it. Aki: I don't think there's any point in saying “Listen to it this way!”, I’d be happy if everyone listened to it freely. Please give it a try. -- 3days of April 世界の終わりと夜明け前 / Sekai no owari to yoake mae http://www.indiesmusic.com/musicvideo/video.asp?id=12295

Listening to a lot of NOA recently, and I feel the need to share some of their ace Engrish. Ugly Why, why did I started to think about you When, when did I started to think about you I love you that be ugly* with anybody everywhere Can't take anymore You let see your smiles to everyone before me I want to think that your hands aren't dirty And then touch me And then feels me now How can I be more dry now to have a clear view point Our relation is only to do at night And don't bring out any feelings of love Please don't go to everywhere to satisfy your self I will make you happy more They talk about you laughing I don't want to hear their voice So please don't go anywhere Must be your hands are clean *someone had posted a scan of the booklet for this song on their blog, and it says "you that be ugly with anybody everywhere", but it sounds like they changed it to "sex/slept with anybody everywhere" to me from me to you Lyrics: Aki Music: NOA I'm sorry for not give it to you I have dream I have you I understood to think that you are lonely however I do not change I have dream I have you I understood to think that you are lonely I do not change Many thanks from me to you Many sorry from me to you please recall my words when you are lonely Many thanks from me to you Many sorry from me to you please recall this song when you are lonely.. ORANGE BLUE Lyrics: Pocky Music: NOA Walking home, apartment near the train road It feels like time pass slowly Walking home, carrying the groceries Another me won't stop to imitate me Walking home, the little house near the small park I want it to play more but no Walking home, with my bat and glove Before she gets mad I've better run to home fast In the train My suits is orange All the building seems so bright I can't barely look the sight so look down I'm going to persit tomorrow too With my bike She is on back Down the hill After school I'll send you safe 'till we say goodbye Another they had a head and two bodies Then paired strap shine in moment Then goodbye Sun goes down turning every thing to orange And buildings light up their eyes Walking home, where they are belong Sun are cheering you and wave his hands to for you

I made an attempt at this today. Probably not the most accurate translation in the world, since I suck at Japanese, but I tried. swim I can’t forgive myself for that day Bring me back to the days when I made the wrong decisions I cling to your words We can’t be separated I can’t escape Swim, come to me, and when we’re together not even those cold nights will get to us No matter how many paths I take, the light I’m scrambling for keeps shining down Down on the hundreds of millions of light years I’ll start wandering today No matter how many paths I take, the light I’m scrambling for keeps shining You’re worried, but I’ll keep swimming until you love me* I want to forgive myself for that day We were washed away by the current and scattered apart Even if I know it’s in the answer key, Giving up like an adult is an answer I just can’t give Swim, come to me, and when we’re together not even those cold nights will get to us No matter how many paths I take, the light I’m scrambling for keeps shining down Down on the hundreds of millions of light years I’ll start wandering today No matter how many paths I take, the light I’m scrambling for keeps shining I don't know why I'm crying Even if I start to feel like going under might be better,** This laboured breathing doesn’t reach my eyes*** I start to struggle and sink, and I need to take another breather But believe in the future No matter how many paths I take, the light I’m scrambling for keeps shining down Down on the hundreds of millions of light years I’ll start wandering today No matter how many paths I take, the light I’m scrambling for keeps shining You’re worried, but I’ll keep swimming until you love me* So, come to me Notes: *I’m worried that this is wrong, but I don’t know what else it could mean… **"Going under" as in giving up and drowning ***I think this means that, while sometimes his body gets so exhausted that he wants to give up, he never loses sight of his goal swim Ano hi no jibun ga yurusenai na Erabimachigaeta hibi o kaese yo Anata no kotoba ga shigamitsuite Hanarerarenai nogarerarenai Oyoide oide yoru no tsumetasa mo Shinpai nai sono saki ni wa Nan-oku doori ubaiatte hikari sashita Nan-oku kounen kyou ni mukatte hourou o Nan-oku doori ubaiatte hikari sashita Nayanderu kimi no suki na hou e Oyoide Ano hi no jibun o yurushitai na Nagare nagasare hanarebanare de Otona no furi shite akiramete wa Kotaerarenai kotae awase o Oyoide oide yoru no tsumetasa mo Shinpai nai sono saki ni wa Nan-oku doori ubaiatte hikari sashita Nan-oku kounen kyou ni mukatte hourou o Nan-oku doori ubaiatte hikari sashita Namida no imi ga wakaranai Oboreta risou no hoshou no kuse ni Kono me ni utsusezu ni kokyuukonnan da Mogaite shizunde mata ikitsugi Shinjiro mirai o Nan-oku doori ubaiatte hikari sashita Nan-oku kounen kyou ni mukatte hourou o Nan-oku doori ubaiatte hikari sashita Nayanderu kimi no suki na hou e Saa oide Kanji: http://petitlyrics.com/lyrics/1027213

As someone mentioned that i should write some more reviews im making this happen right here and right now . Glory Hill is 4 piece Pop Punk band from Okazaki City in Aichi Prefecture . They are around from 2005 and as of today they released 7 singles , 2 mini albums and 4 albums as Indie Band and 2 singles and 1 album as Major Band . And that 1 album is the one im gonna review here . Released on 14th may this year , their first and debut album as Major Band called "Good Loser" . Seriously i dont know where to start this review . The band did not change much from the Indie era , altough i have to say most songs have a little better compositions , they still the good old happy go lucky Pop Punk band but with a little bit of Melodic Hardcore touch here and there . The album opens up with "Now or Never!!" a freaking good song , fast , melodic , punkish , hell yeah very upbeat song , really good if you need some postivie energy , the song is the essence of this , not to mention this solo , ive heard a lot bands playing Pop Punk from Japan recently , but i did not heard a solo that would hit me that good . The next two songs , "Take my Word" and "Asterisk" , are very typical for this genre , melodic , happy sounding less aggressive than the opener , but still managing to deliver what this kind of music should deliver , a good positive vibe . Its worth to mention that "Asterisk" has parts sung in japanese , cause mostly they use the typical engrish thats well known by all listeners of japanese music , not to mention that this song reminds me of Flow . The 4th song called "Shut up and Dance" opens up with Disco beat than jumping into punkish riffs yet with some of the danceish vibe still staying in the song , the further in the album the more this starts sounding more like an american Pop Punk band . I could go around writing about all the songs in this manner but it would take some time and im starting to get sleepy , also for this kind of album writing about each song is kinda ... hard , its not like are songs are repeatable , cause altough ive had this feeling on their earlier albums i did not have this here . But this genre is the essence of easy non technical music , easy for the ears , open for a big audience , as said earlier very melodic and upbeat , a truly mainstream rock band , and altough some ppl might have issues with the engrish lyrics , they still are worth at least a try and i promise you that this will be one of the best bands in this genre you will listen to . Summarizing this up , if you like this kind of happy upbeat music and dont mind engrish then its your thing , ive seriously had a lot of fun listening to this album , lots of good vibes , melodies and riffs reminding me of Sum 41 and Blink 182 that etched themselves easy in my mind , also the songs are so addictive that i will hum them for some time now . My recommendation . Score : 8/10 for being one of the best Pop Punk releases this year , and being the best album in their history .(As i am not used to do a 1 star to 5 star rating but from 1 to 10 ill stick to this)
