    Woah, where did that live come from???

     

    Tousei is absolutely perfect live (all of the ARCHE songs actually); literally sent shivers down my spine.

    What's everyone thinking about the new mini? I didn't want to post a review thread because I find little enjoyment in writing detailed reviews.

     

    First listen.... I'm very underwhelmed. I'll give it a few more shots, but I can't see this as something that I'll come back to often (or at all).

    I can't remember the last time I listened to an album and ended up saying I absolutely love 11 of the songs.

    Un deux, Soshaku, Uroko, Phenomenon, Tousei, Rinkaku, Magayasou, Kaishun, Behind a vacant image, Kukoku, and Revelation of mankind.....

     

    Sure, the majority of the song structures are generic, but I don't care. They are melodic, catchy, emotional, and memorable. Far more than I can say about DSS, imo (which I enjoyed, and still do to this day).

     

     

    I'm loving this more every single time I listen to it. 

     

    Easy 9/10 right now for me.

    Why oh why didn't they open the album with 'and Zero'? It's frackin' beautiful, and I think it honestly sets the tone for the album. 

     

    I don't like messing with the integrity of an album, honestly, but I'm tempted to throw and Zero in the front and pretend that's how it's suppose to be. lol

    I'm at Rinkaku now and so far ARCHE sounds to me like a huge experiment similar to the one they performed with Kisou.

    some crazy mix of this and that.

    I can almost see Kaoru saying, 'hey guys, why don't we just put together everything we can do?'

    I'm not saying this was a bad idea but ARCHE lacks some consistency they had within previous works.

    let's see if the second half proves I was wrong or not.

    For me, it's become more cohesive the more I've listened to it. 

    Or maybe it's not necessarily cohesive, but familiarity masked as cohesiveness? lol I don't know, still lovin' it though.

    What songs are people most disappointed with? I know Phenomenon is a likely choice, but I kinda dig the progressiveness of the song. And the first verse has a 'Disabled Complexes'-type groove to it. The good is far outweighing the mediocre right now in my mind.

    Upon second listen I'm really diggin' it. 

     

    Preliminary favorites: 

    - Un deux

    - Soshaku (loving the chorus)

    - Tousei (just beautiful melodies and guitar pieces)

    - Magayasou

    - Kaishun

    - Behind a Vacant Image

    - Revelation of Mankind

     

    On the 'like list':

    - Phenomenon; not as good as I was hoping, but still enjoying it.

    - Kukoku...

     

    - And honestly everything else is decent to meh. Some fillers were expected for such a long album. But I'm really liking the flow of the album the second time around (especially the first 8-10 songs).
