Look who I found in issue #84 (June 1999) of Spawn... McFarlane must've been really into X JAPAN those days, lol.

Haha, same. Took me a minute. Also, I just noticed but there's a new Clipping album coming out on October 18 titled "There Existed an Addiction to Blood". I love this spooky '80s horror aesthetic, very effective lyrics and delivery too (as usual).

In addition, the limited versions will come with 2 bonus SHM-CDs of the tracks of Day 2 and some sort of 2-song Augmented Reality extra that you can view with your smartphone (idk how these things work, lol). Haven't checked out the new Mgła album yet (will do it this weekend!), but just saw them live two days ago at the start of their tour. They were pretty good as usual, tho the sound of the venue could've been a bit better. They played for about an hour and, truth be told, I got a bit tired by the end... and I dunno if it was just the song selection or what, but I've never noticed before how damn similar/samey their song structures are, lol. Was kinda comical after a while. In any case, it was an enjoyable show. In other news, I'm just spinning the latest Devourment album (Obscene Majesty) for the first time, and maaaan this production is absolutely filthy! Like, ridiculously dense and heavy. It sure gives a whole new dimension to the brutality. The actual music is cool too, tho I'll have to listen to this one more so that everything clicks. Staying on the death-metal front, Cattle Decapitation just dropped the first official track from their upcoming album "Death Atlas" (release date November 29) and as I expected it's typically them. Props to Travis yet again, he continues to remain my favorite extreme metal vocalist. His voice from 2:20 onwards = dat's the shit I like! Can't wait for the full-length, I bet it'll be just as amazing as their last two. Speaking of amazing, I randomly searched for this US death metal band Vitriol because I noticed they'll be opening at Nile and Hate Eternal's gig next Friday and oh boy... this is gonna be gooooood. Also, lucky me, their debut album drops tomorrow, heh. Check this and watch out for the flesh-melting guitar solo:

Haha, clever sample reveal. Looking forward to it (tho I still haven't listened to their last single oops).

Miss Jelly Fish will perform live on 2019/09/12 at Ikebukuro Chop during vocalist Shaka's birthday event "シャカガウマレタ ツギノヒ" (Shaka ga umareta tsugi no hi). Full gig lineup: - Miss Jelly Fish - E.T - somali - BLIND GRAPH - The Shingo Nakamura Miss Jelly Fish officially disbanded in September 2014, coincidentally also at one of Shaka's b-day lives. Since then he hasn't been too active, only playing a handful of sessions each year (SHAKA-TICK, SHAKA SEA and SHAKARILYN MANSON - you can guess which one covers which band, lol). He did resurrect Miss Jelly Fish for one gig afterwards tho, on 2017/09/11. Time to get my hopes up!! ...although I highly doubt this will be more than a one-off thing. #MJFpleasesaveArtKei Also, just to have something cool here, Shaka linked this live excerpt from the one-time 2017 reunion gig recently on Twitter:

Keep on truckin', Qeens!

New Mayhem sounds decent enough. I'll probably enjoy it more when listening to the full album. Can't wait!

^ Fffffffinally indeed! Can't wait! The cover art looks kinda lame and artificial for my taste, but anyway it's the content that matters.

If you're not strictly looking for vk bands, I can recommend MUSHI or BAAL for a cool industrial rock sound (latter one moreso). They're a bit more similar to stuff like Skinny Puppy or a more electronic Marilyn Manson. If you like even more electro in your industrial, give DEMONOID 13 a try too (tho they're more EBM). But to echo your opinion, I would like to hear this type of music reflected in vk more too!
-
Sounds great, thanks! Reminds me of Dai 6 era somehow.
-
Nope, nothing is officially confirmed yet. I would sure hope tho that it will be!
-
BIG YIKES, haha.

No contest, Mindhunter S02 was truly awesome. Bit different from S01 but in a good way. I hope we won't have to wait so long for the next season (but even if we have to, I don't mind as long as they keep this quality).

Seems like Ao is really the queen of shoes recently.
-
Dunno how I missed this before, but here's a trailer/teaser for the EP. It has a whoppin' 15 second-long sample from what I assume is the title track, lol.
-
inb4 they troll everyone and it's gonna be a cover of the Pentagon song

So far these guys seem to be pretty consistent in terms of bad cover art.
-
The visuals are pretty cool! Hopefully the music will be up to par too.

Synthwave bros & girls in the USA/Canada! If you have time make sure to check out my homeboy LAZERPUNK on one of his 30+ North American tour dates in September/October (supporting Aesthetic Perfection)! So proud of this guy finally having a proper live run overseas, he totally deserves it. Great dude with a total DIY attitude (and bangin' tracks). It's been a long time since I've seen him perform but as far as I remember he does a super energetic and killer live set. (Also, he's currently crowdfunding his first official music video, drop by here if you want to help out)
