No big news yet, but according to Kanon's blog they gave out (or sold?) some CDRs at their oneman gig on 2012/01/17 that has one of the songs from the upcoming mini album - of which there is still no update... However, here's the setlist of that concert if anyone's interested: 01. [new song] 02. Nioi 03. one day 04. spellbound 05. Yureru kagee 06. Power 07. Magaru sekai 08. the ghost song 09. believe 10. Love Ballad 11. the doguu song 12. My Lucifer 13. [new song] 14. boys 15. Woo pee haa pee 16. Shiranai no 17. He 18. Fuffuu 19. Setsudan ...it appears they have 8 new songs now. LOL they'd better stop torturing us~ xD I'm secretly hoping this might mean that the mini album will instead be a full-length one but I'm not getting my hopes up. Hopefully the OHP will get updated soon with info on this release (the main page still has the flyer for the concert).

Was waiting for a wall-of-death with teddy bears.

Well... according to HMV this is the tracklist: 01. 21st Century Massacre 02. Lemon Pop 03. My Dinosaur 04. Deco-Chang 05. the United States of Psysalia 06. 2.5D 07. Death To My Friends 08. X is to Y as Y is to Z 09. Tokyo+Lolita 10. We Are The People Preparing for a worst-case scenario I originally wanted to crack a "still more new songs than Laruku" joke, but with only 2 new tracks I can't even do that. Seems like it really is a "compilation album" (as they said in numerous articles) of the past 2 years (explaining that the singles were very limited/hard to get, so now the bulk of the stuff is collected). Oh well, lookin' forward to those 2 new songs anyway...

Representations of Femininity in American Genre Cinema: The Woman's Film, Film Noir, and Modern Horror by David Greven Not terribly exciting but not totally boring either, thankfully. xD
  15. Jigsaw9

^ Well, better than nothing I guess. Curious to see which songs will make it.
  16. Jigsaw9

My hope is some new material too (but I don't think it's likely, given the fact that J geared up his solo project again for this year).
  17. Jigsaw9

Nice album covers! Only a bit more than a month to go~ ^^

The experience is still fresh (so this might just be the excitement) but seriously this has the potential to almost be up there with my favorite cali≠gari albums! Maybe it's just the shock, since I didn't expect much after hearing the previews, but this album turned out really crazy and interesting in my opinion. I like how it mixes standard cali≠gari insanity with their recent electronic tweaks, at times forging an even more crazy-sounding mix (see: Subete ga kurutteru, or any of the first two songs). Of course the compulsory nostalgia-tinged ballad (Tokyo,...) and likewise nostalgic/teary-eyed-but-fast pop song (Saigo no shukudai, in the vein of songs like School Zone or Seishun kyousoukyoku) are present, of which the latter one I really became attached to. I must also mention track 05: while not my favorite song (yet?), it really took me by surprise! At times on this song I could hear a vague influence of BUCK-TICK even (cca. SANE or a more subtle song off their SEXY STREAM LINER album); nice sound. Overall I am more than pleased with this album! I wasn't expecting crap of course, but they really shone on this one, in my eyes (ears? xD). I also liked their other post-reunion stuff but I think this one takes the cake. I'd give it a 8/10, good job!

Oooh mysterious! ^^ If I'm counting it right, it will end in 26 hours 48 minutes, so not much longer to go!
  20. Nice samples, I like what I'm hearing.
  21. Jigsaw9

^ Interesting line-up! Is this some sort of session?
  22. Jigsaw9

Tracklist and cover revealed! That's one trippy cover, I must say! (as expected)
  23. Jigsaw9

Well, looks like the album won't be out in February after all (not that I'm surprised).
