It was. lynch released a song with the same name back in 2007, although Ecdysis is actually a Greek word, I highly doubt -OZ- thought about that.
-
Obviously not copying lynch's song name. Either way, I'm glad they've sorted themselves out. Kind of excited for this though.

-choral- - intro/10 This is a decent intro. There's not much else I can say. I love the cool guitar riff though. finale - 7/10 I like how the intro leads into this song, it just fits. The intro riff is pretty awesome too. I like how you can hear how much Gara has improved as a singer over the years too. He's definitely getting a lot better. Not much else I can say about this song though. It's just a bit of a standard Merry song. I reckon it could have easily fit onto under-world. Anyway, onto the next song. Monochrome - 10/10 I can't tell if this is re-recorded or not (if it has been, please tell me) so I'll just put a heavily edited version of what I put for the single: There isn't much I can say about this song. I love it. Gara's voice is just amazing. There's not much else that could top this for me. Zaa Zaa - 8/10 This song's pretty good. Once again, Gara's voice is amazing. This sounds a bit like earlier Merry to me. Not much else I can say really other than it's pretty good. Fleeting prayer - 10/10 This isn't a re-record is it? I would post what I put for my previous review of this but my opinion has changed, this is definitely a "grower" song. Anyway, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of Merry's ballads but this is just amazing. I absolutely adore this song. Gara's voice is just amazing and the guitars go so well with it. Only "negative" for this song is the drums, they're nothing special but that's not worth a point deduction. There's not many words to describe how much I love this song. It's beautiful. -sabbat- - interlude/10 I love how this feels like a drum solo. Pretty awesome drumming from Nero though. The guitar effects are pretty cool too. Fukinkou Kinema - 9/10 I like this. Definitely one of the better (new) songs from this album so far. I love this stuff from Merry. I hope they do more of this. Zetsubou - 8/10 I love the instruments in this. This is also a really good song. Gara's vocals when singing "Zetsubou" sound a bit iffy though. It doesn't quite ruin the song but it's still a bit iffy. Really liking the song though. Skull - 8/10 I've never listened to the original (as far as I can remember) so I can't compare it. This song is amazing though. I love the screaming in this song too. These types of songs tend to be my favourite. It's made me want to hear the original too. That speaking at the end is bleh though. Yakou - 7/10 Another single song. I haven't really liked this song as I have the other singles but it's still pretty good. A bit of "standard" Merry really. The chorus to this song always gets stuck in my head though, I love Gara's singing in it, even if it is a bit generic. Crisis Moment - 9/10 My initial listening to this song had it as my favourite Merry songs. After a lot more listens to now, It's still amazing but definitely not there best. I love the riff in the chorus, it's awesome. Gara's singing is, once again, the best thing in the song. I love it. Shoudoku - 10/10 I really like the intro to this song and just the whole song in general. Once again, it reminds me of old Merry. Love it. The shouting is awesome too. Definitely my favourite new song. The Cry Against ME - 10/10 I love all the added screams and shouts in this song. It makes what I found the best hardcore punk song I've heard, even better. Fucking amazing. I love all the extra stuff they added in too. (Apprantly using a genre you thought best described a song makes you a huge retard. If anyone would like to correct me on what sort of superheavyhardcrapcore type of genre this is then feel free.) Identity - 8/10 I loved this song when it was released but I feel the re-recording really isn't as good. Some of the stuff they've changed just doesn't sound right. Gara's singing is a lot better in this version though which makes the chorus for this song SO much better. Overall it's a decent re-recording, just not as good. SWAN - 6/10 The start of this sounds really bleh. I'm not a huge fan of ballads though. It sounds just like a generic ballad. Definitely the weakest song from this album. The choir in the background sounds like it's synthed which is just tacky and un-needed. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be though, it's just a bit generic. -dawn- - ending/10 S'alright. Overall - 8/10 This album is really good, I'm not gonna lie, but it just doesn't work as an album. The songs all work a lot better as single songs. Not the best they've done but certainly not the worst.

I have to admit, Aventure sounds better than EROS and Nibanme. It's still pseudo-jazz crap though but I suppose it's getting them money so they'll stick with it. I'd like to see that live of Time Enough for Love on the bonus DVD though.

/facepalm I'm pretty sure lynch did everything themselves. I doubt Hazuki would have let lynch go onto a major label if they would have changed their music. I also don't see how this is "mediocre" work as it sounds pretty much like everything else they've done, which isn't a bad thing. Yea...um...do the following. Listen to their previous albums and then listen to I BELIEVE IN ME AGAIN. If you think that album is anywhere on par with SHADOWZ or any other previous release then you really haven't been payin much attention to their music. No offense. Switching to a major label hasn't changed them at all is what I was getting at, not whether it sounded as good as their other albums because, in my opinion, I think this album is the same as, if not better than SHADOWZ. Saying that I haven't been paying attention to their music is a big statement, you don't know me. I'm not here for an argument. Anyway, here's my review: INTRODUCTION - (for an intro) 7/10 I really like this. It's their first intro too which kind of surprised me as it seems to be the cool thing to do with VK bands. The piano really sets the mood for the next song. UNTIL I DIE - 7/10 In my opinion this is just more lynch. The song is awesome, there isn't much else I can say about it other than that. I BELIEVE IN ME - 8/10 I really love the screaming chorus in this. (at least, I assume it's the chorus) Everything else about this song is really awesome. The only thing that made me take off one point was Hazuki's singing in the pre-chorus, it sounded a bit weak. JUDGEMENT - 8/10 Holy crap. I loved the single version of this song and this re-recording just makes it sound that much better. The drumming has a louder mix which I like a lot. The singing in the chorus is what deducted a point this time. I liked that little scream Hazuki did in the single version but it's been replaced with that nasally falsetto which I dislike. The rest of the song is awesome though. LIE - 7/10 This song sounds a lot like a heavier version of I DON'T KNOW WHERE I AM. The song's still pretty awesome. That's all I can say about it really. -273.15℃ - 7/10 Another heavy "in your face" song which lynch. tend to include on every album. This one feels a bit like a filler but I like this even though these sorts of songs aren't my favourite from lynch. THIS COMA - 7/10 I'm not a big fan of lynch's ballads. This song is good but it doesn't top LAST NITE for my favourite ballad. Maybe it'll grow on me. SCARLET - 10/10 I quite like this. It starts off like it's going to be another heavy song but then it mellows out into an amazing heavy ballad. I really like Hazuki's singing/screaming in this, it fits perfectly. The quarter life bit in the end sent a massive chill down my spine when I heard it, I'm glad they included that, it just made the song for me. ALL THIS I GIVE TO YOU - 8/10 Loved this song on the single, love the re-recording. It doesn't sound much different than the single version, but that's a good thing. I really like the acoustic guitar they've added in the chorus, it makes it sound a lot better. I dislike the added singing before the breakdown though, to me it just doesn't fit. TIAMAT - 8/10 A second "in your face" song on this album. This song is probably my favourite one though. It definitely tops -273.15℃. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT - 10/10 Ignore what I said about me not liking lynch's ballads, this song is quite possibly one of the best song's they've done. It's very atmospheric for lynch. and I'm pretty sure it will never fail to send shivers down my spine with every listen. Beautiful is probably the word I'd use to describe this song. Definitely my favourite from the album. A GLEAM IN EYE - 10/10 Once again, I loved the original and I love this version. The re-recording is definitely better but (as is the same with JUDGEMENT) the chorus let's it down a bit. To me it doesn't sound as strong as the original. The bit before where the breakdown used to be and the new part there surprised me, it fit's SO well. It easily makes up the weaker chorus. I love it. Overall - 9/10 This album is amazing. I'm really glad I bought it. To me it's on par with, if not better, than SHADOWZ. I'm glad they've got past copy/pasting the same breakdowns too even to the point of removing said breakdown from A GLEAM IN EYE. Quite possibly my favourite album for 2011 which might only be topped by DIR EN GREY's new album.

Seriously?

This isn't a maxi single in different types, this is just 3 new singles. I'm looking forward to them though.

And another one joins the "Bring old Lycaon back now I play Ambrozia and RO only" cult I've founded. Woo Right. Live-limited single has no DVD. The album that's being released in stores has 8 songs, 4 of those 8 being re-recordings. Then it has a DVD with all that shit on it. The album that's being released at the live has 9 songs on the album with 5 of them new. Then either a new CD or tacked on at the end are the re-recordings. They did that because they know everyone wants to hear them =_=. Oh, and they've been milking us dry ever since second era started. Alright, thanks for clearing that up for me. It confuses me why the live limited CD has an extra new song on it AND the re-recordings, why not just do one disc with all the new songs and re-recordings and release that in two types, one with a DVD and one without like most other bands do, it would make much more sense >_> Yeah, and some of us are stupid enough to fall for the whole "two type" thing and buying the whole CD again just for one extra track >_>
-
This is confusing, the shop/live limited single is just one song with no extra DVD right? The album, 2 types, one live and the regular one with a DVD? The live one has 9 tracks with 3 re-recordings and the regular one has 8 tracks with a PV DVD? They're really milking the fans with all this live and different type shit. I'll probably listen to it out of curiosity but Jouyoku was the last new release I'm buying from these guys. They've just lost what made me love them. I guess I'll just go back to listening to Royal Order and Ambrozia to death now.

You won't have to wait long as I'm uploading my copy of the mini when I get it unless someone beats me to it Gunna upload it in 320? xD Of course

My first thought was "WOO!" Then I watched that video... WTF happened? Can't say I'm looking forward to this >_>
-
I don't own it at the moment but I'm buying it soon. I'll get back to you on the composer though but it was more than likely eve who composed it.
-
At the moment I can only think of one guy who definitely needs to go in this topic: That guy from Re:dis (I think his name was Ryuuji or something). I like the band but the singer, wow. He's just horrible at screaming. He's got the regular VK singing voice (as in, sounds like almost everyone else) but when he screams it just sounds like a cat getting ran over, surviving, then getting ran over again. The guy needs to stop.
-
Can't say I'm excited for this. I was really happy when I read that Mio's in a new band but with Re:dis's singer? No thanks. I never thought a singers voice could make me dislike a band but it certainly did for Re:dis.
-
I'm hopeful for Lycaon's song. I'm confident that they'll do a better job at the song than Re:dis themselves. Unless Yuuki decides to start doing that horrible high pitched noise that the singer of Re:dis does.
-
Is the DVD a complete PV collection? I'm glad I didn't start buying all their singles for the PV DVDs if it is I'll definitely be getting this. It's much better than Immortal, although it's missing murder freaks and facism still >.>
-
EROS (the song itself) was shit for Lycaon's standards. The rest of the single was good though. I hope these 2 releases are like the "rest of the single" rather than the "title track" >_>
-
Damn. That sucks. I'll still be getting the mini-album either way. I guess I'll wait till Jesus shows up on Pure Sound then.
-
A new single AND mini-album announced. Who thinks they're gonna actually be good? If I'm honest I'm looking forward to the 2 live videos on the DVD of the mini-album the most. I've always wanted to hear how they sound live.
-
I'm excited. Do Tower Records Japan ship over-seas? I think I'll be pre-ordering both of these if so. I can't wait. ESPECIALLY for the 2 lives with the DVD. I've always wondered how Yuuki sounds live.

(In no particular order) 1. Da'vid/Shito:aL 2. Aioria 3. Klein Kaiser 4. Nageki Shito 5. Pleur 6. Black:List 7. Heartless 8. Kibouya Honpo 9. GULLET 10. Garasu I just wrote these down as they came to my head. I thought each of these bands where really good or could have grown into something so much better.
