I've got the best of album on right now. I have a like/hate reaction to the material. Most of the songs sound like I have a CD on + the TV on + music coming from somewhere else like my computer as well. Plus the mix is weird w/the keyboards and samples way high in the mix, and the band and vocals in the back. That said, I do dig a lot of it. Although you have to be in the right listening mood as it can be abrasive if you're not settled in and ready for it. It's not the kind of music you can put on for background music while you're doing other things. I'd like to hear their material remixed with the band upfront and the keys and samples etc in the background.

Are these worth owning if I already have all the original releases?

A lot of bands have sported swastika armbands, or full uniforms. It's not as big a deal in Japan, probably because they don't have a jewish population

Back in the days before filesharing and people posting CD's on youtube, every CD was a blind purchase. So many many many regretted purchases then. I don't pre-order anymore, I have to hear anything I'm interested in buying first. So these days, zero are regretted purchases. And I usually only buy used, which doesn't help the bands out unfortuantely

Anything from the original line-up. SADS 2.0 only had a couple OK songs IMO

I'd say it has to do with bands wanting to make $$ off old material as a previous record label may own the rights to the original recording

Anyone know what ever happened to this blog? It belonged to a gay westerner living in Japan. I found the gay perspective on the VK scene interesting

I'm listening to Kingdom right now. Is it me, or do they recycle a lot of their melodies? Seems like I've heard a lot of this already

Anyone know where I can find clips of their entire discography? I'm finally getting around to buying some of their CD's but I want to hear all the material first to determine which ones I think are worth grabbing. Thanks!
