  1. Japanese IDM/classical/ambient duo Matryoshka shared five songs from their forthcoming new album here.

I'm happy that they are releasing something new, and all of the five songs are great, so really looking forward to it!

  2. looks that way D: My japanese isn't super awesome but yea... that's the gist of it. Pretty much after that live they'll be taking a break. Up until now they've been uber busy with releases and tours and when they will come back still isn't decided. smth like that D:

Thanks for translating it. I understand them, they released VERY many albums this year, so it's logical, that they want to take a break - but it still sucks to hear this.

    CONTRAREDE

Tokyo’s Dry River String opened the evenings show. The band, a four piece live, lived up to all the Kings of Convenience-ness I expected from them - they used only guitars, a keyboard, minimal percussion and a toy piano to play hushed folk music. The group’s lead off with their speediest song, the cloudy-day stroll “An Able Politician Saves Oil?? and Dry River String only became more laid back as their set went on. Some of the songs veered dangerously close to coffee house open mice night, but the addition of keyboard added enough kick to keep things going steady. Despite playing pleasantly enough, Dry River Sting sounded like a band better suited for home listening (a fact I am confirming at this moment) than an act to seek out live. Much like how I think Kings of Convenience would be actually, so they really are doing a good job gaining inspiration from them. Props to the cute frog shaker, though.

  6. Dexter: season 5, episode 8

Alright, it's starting to get interesting!

    Agreed.

    On:

    Carnivale: season 2, episode 12.

Well, burn in hell HBO, for ending this serie, after this, I would die for a season 3.

    And now:

Boardwalk Empire: season 1, episode 9.

  7. My roommate really likes them, but he's one of those people who only listen to like 1~2 songs by a band and doesn't look into them any further than that. All I know is that the one song he listens to has the words "hurricane" and "butterfly" in it's name and the vocals piss me off.

A lot of people in the US like them, probably because of Twilight or for some sort of VNV Nation effect.

To me, they are only good live. Most likely because of the fact that the guitar piercing my ears made me forget about his annoying voice. They were epic live, but the studio recordings just don't do it for me.

Well, I don't think so. I've seen them two times, once about three years ago, when they were touring with Black Holes And Revelations, and they were awesome at that time. Bellamy was energetic, communicated with the crowd, and you could tell, that he is enjoying the concert. I was a bit skeptical about their performance, because I couldn't really get into Black Holes And Revelations (imho Origin Of Symmetry was their best release), but at the concert, the songs from that album (If I remember correctly, they played Take A Bow, Map Of The Problematique, Supermassive Black Hole, Soldier's Poem and some more) and at the ending with Knights Of Cydonia, which evolved into a bombastic and psychidelic prog-rock jamming was nothing else but awesome. And that moment when Bellamy played 'Feeling Good', and only he, and his piano were on the stage, was a memorable moment of the concert.

And their concert at Sziget fesztivál some months ago was...well, boring. I must admit, that I REALLY don't like The Resistance, but I thought, that maybe it will change after the concert. Well, not. It was, as I saw, a boring concert, they've played with routine, but without heart. They played their songs, jammed a bit, and went off the stage - maybe the problem was, that the setlist of the two concert were nearly the same (except the songs from the new album), and I remembered, that they can play the songs a lot better. A friend of mine said, that maybe the problem with the concert was, that it didn't had any real highlights, even the encore (Knights Of Cydonia and Plug-In Baby) was nothing catharctic. "It was sex without orgasm." - according to my friend. It was epic, in the sense of that there was a big stage, there was a great beamer behind them, with good and intresting with intresting short-films, and the whole thing was very grandiose, but that's all. I appreciated, that most of the times, they varied the songs, but at the end, it wasn't enough for me. (Or I caught a bad day to watch them.)

Some months ago, after Xiu Xiu's (awesome) concert in Budapest, at one of my friends apartment. I borrowed her glasses, and she made this picture of me. There is a glorious 'I <3 Xiu Xiu And Cats' caption on my t-shirt. And yes, I'm looking terrible.

  9. Shattered-Tranquility[/url]":22ttibne]9goats-black-out-back-on-the-scene-opening-2011-with-a-tour

After half a year of uncertainty and suspicion, it is my pleasure to announce that ryo, uta, and hati (and akaya, too!) are now finally making a triumphant return as 9GOATS BLACK OUT!

9GOATS BLACK OUT, who had been on an indefinite hiatus since April, have announced that they will resume activities in 2011, opening the new year with a series of oneman lives in January! As of yet, only three dates have been announced on the “Melancholy pool?? tour, but fans are sure to be awash in relief, rather than melancholy, over the resumption in activities!

The April 26 hiatus announcement was soon followed by the revelation that support drummer aki (ex-GULLET) would be departing from the band. aki, who had performed with 9GOATS since the band’s inception, reflected fondly on his experience as a part of 9GOATS but admitted that, from the beginning, his involvement was meant to be short-lived. Still, while his departure may have been inevitable, it was nonetheless difficult for many fans, some of whom feared for the band’s future, to accept. Over the subsequent months the members continued to perform, individually in various sessions and, not-so-secretly, as a trio under the name “baphomet,?? keeping their ties to the music scene strong. But the question of if and when 9GOATS would return remained unresolved.

…Until now! So let’s all celebrate 9GOATS BLACK OUT’s official return by diving head first into the “Melancholy pool?? !

    Good news. :3

  10. Been to them multiple times back when they were good... now, nah, don't think so...

Something like that - the last time I've seen them was about two (?) years ago, in München, where they shared the stage with BALZAC, and that was a great night. But now, I don't think, that they would make a show, which would worth me attending to their gig. Still, we'll see.
