  1. For me growing up I just listened to whatever my parents listened to, which was mostly country and christian music. When  I was 10 or so me and my best friend spent a lot of time watching the Disney channel and back then they would play music videos and it was at that time I started getting into the likes of Nsync, 98 degrees, aaron carter, and the pokemon soundtracks. I don't remember what music I listened to from the ages 10 to 14 but at the age of 15 I met a guy in my math class and on his binder he had pictures of Slipknot, Korn, and Mudvayne so that caught my interest and I started to listening to the radio a lot more and I feel in love with all sorts of radio friendly rock music and I discovered bands such as Alice in chains, Pink floyd, Guns N' Roses, Staind, Metallica, Breaking benjamin, Tool, Incubus, etc With the "Heavier" bands being my favorite like Slipknot, Mudvayne and Killswtich Engage.

A year or so later I finally got access to a computer (our family had one but I was never allowed on it ><) and it was right around this time that I was in a store and say L'arc~en~Ciel on some magazine and a thought occurred to me "Japanese Rock? Wonder what that is like" and through the use of myspace, wikipedia, and batsu I discovered the world of Vk.

Ever since then my music taste have continued to expand and grow  :)

  2. I am a lot like you fitear!  I think of my favorite music in terms of bands which for me are decided by the amount of music of that band that I like. However, most of the time I can't tell you a favorite album of that band unless there is some other factor besides just thier music. For example I often consider Withering to Death my favorite album of Dir en grey but that is mostly because of the memories I have attached with that album.

  3. While I am excited for anything that Diru releases, I kinda wish they would have said it was a mostly remake mini-album! To me it is like announcing a new album and releasing a best of with one new song >_<

I am excited to see how they remake these songs, especially Macabre! It is one of my all time favorite songs of theirs.

  4. D- Namonaki Mori no Yumegatari

Café Tacvba- El objeto antes llamado disco

    Deftones- Koi no Yokan

    FoZZtone- Love

    Motion City Soundtrack- Go

    GOOD ON THE REEL- 無言の三原色

I didn't get to listen to everything I wanted to this year >_

  5. ok guys I need your help! I am wanting to invest in a decent pair of headphones for home use. I am a complete noob to this kind of stuff and I am not even sure if I will be able to hear the difference they make since I have some hearing damagethanks for my stupidity with a firecracker >_<. So that being said, I would prefer not to spend a whole lot of money. I might be able to bring myself to spend $300 but that is the absolute max that I am wanting to spend at this point.

So, like I said they would be for home use and I was thinking about open-back and I would prefer something that would cover my ears. I listen to all sorts of music but rock music is what I mainly listen to with Uroboros and Dum Spiro Spero probably being the two most listened to albums.

I was reading through some of the headfi guide that Zess posted and a couple of headphones on there caught my eye:

Grado SR-80i- even though they are on ear instead of over like I was looking for, the guide was saying that they are good heads for beginner audiophiles, so that is why they caught my eye.

Sennheiser HD 558/598- I don't remember why these caught my eye but I think it was decent review and within my price range.

Any suggestions from you guys? either from these two or anything else that think would be a nice fit for what I am looking for?

  6. Dir en grey for me! I have enjoyed all of their albums and they where the first band that really got me interested in the whole Japanese music scene. While I do like a lot of Gazette's stuff, I didn't really like Toxic at all and haven't brought myself to listen to the new one yet >_
