  1. A bit disappointed in the video. If only because I like the 2 different things going on (the beginning in black and white with the girl and then the flashing craziness that follows) but I don't like them together because the former gets lost. So I almost wish they'd just stuck to one or the other.

  2. ^well, I still scrobble them with their Kana name since I didn't want to mess up my charts when they officially switched and last.fm won't merge the pages. So my plays never count towards group charts or anything anyway lol. So I won't crucify you as I too am a blasphemer =3

And yea, we'll see how it holds up over the year, Still got a long way to go but compared to anything that came out last year it's already a breath of fresh air. To put it this way...zekkeishoku has been one of my favorite albums period for years now and after one or 2 plays I was solid in the fact that GEMINI has replaced it, no hesitation. It's not just my a9 bias/weakness, I really genuinely think this album is excellence and my plays lol... it's been a long time since I've listened to something in so much succession, it's a little scary.

  3. I may be killed for this but I don't particularly like Shiina's voice and I'm not a huge fan of her solo stuff save a few songs. That said I am a fan of Tokyo Jihen, I guess her voice just clicks better for me there but mostly I love the music. They were also one of the first bands I was really into when I was starting out in Japanese music so they do hold a special place there even if I don't listen to them as much as I used to. My favorite album is still probably Kyouiku and song probably Genjitsu wo warau but that song probably mostly because it's attached to certain memories from back then.

  4. -Female Vocals in general

-Actual singing as opposed to screaming and other types of vocals. Especially if the voice is powerful or the person really sings out/passionate (but none of that over-vibrato stuff blargh).

-Bass (even though I didn't enjoy playing it I love being able to hear it in a song or even if it's the main focal point)

-Cello (strings in general but I have a cello bias...oh but not the synth-y stuff, hate that, I mean actual orchestra)

-Big Band/ Swing/ jazz when used properly

-When traditional instruments are used in more modern musical settings

    -Theremin

    -Chanting

    -Talking, especially in heavy-ish songs.

-Music with a story behind it...like concept albums or when the songs are connected to each other in some way.

-Poetic Lyrics/ word play in lyrics/ keeping with above if they're apart of some kind of theme or story (I do feel as though it ads something to the music even if it isn't music per se)

    - Electronic fused with rock (in the avengers in sci-fi, mow mow, A9-rainbows kind of way, not as much in the crabcore, or industrial kind of ways)

-Lush sounds/ high-atmosphere/ anything that really envelopes you...typically in instrumental music

-I tend to like melancholic stuff or stuff that borders the line between happiness and sadness/anger in tone and feeling, not too much into the extremes except occasionally.

    - A good catchy melody, something that I can sing along to for days to come and annoy the family with

    - Most things that fall under the Prog category

    - Controlled chaos

    Could probably go on...
