    Keeping things on topic, I've never been able to get into any of Akane's bands. His voice just irks me, which makes no sense since I listen to a ton of bands with...questionable vocals.

    Which reminds me, LiN from UNiTE used to be in a band called LeMpicka? (including that question mark). It doesn't sound all that stupid when you say it out loud, but I just don't understand this trend of weird capitalisation/punctuation. Then again, this is LiN from UNiTE we're talking about. They're a great band and all, but their song titles are just word salad and LiN is... weird. But he's a funny weird. I like him.

    But anyways. You know how Zero from Lycaon/Initial'L used to be known as Rito? Well, before that, he was in a band (the name of which slips my mind) in which his name was Richard. IIRC, the other band members had stupid names as well.

    Oddly, the fact that the guy previously went by 'Richard' is some how one of the weirdest things in this thread

    Just for fun

     

    Asked people about bands they hated and a couple mentioned that some they disliked because they didn't like the band's name.

     

    So here's a new topic : What said ins stupid band names in VK in your opinion?

    names of musicians count as well 

     

    I'll start :

    Dog inthe Parallel World Orchestra/ PWO - just what?

    I used to love Haru but I do see what you mean. I was watching their PVs yesterday (reminiscing back to 6 years ago) and something about him unsettled me. I'm not sure what. When he wears lipstick his appearance makes me nervous. Weird.

    I second this. To me, the majority just seem to sound the same as each other or are clearly coping an older band/artist.

    What are visual kei bands (or musician on their own) that you can't stand? And why?

     

    Here's mine :

    An Cafe - I just find the' annoying. I can't explain why. 

    Royz - originally I just didn't like their music style but I eventually read things about the members that gave me a dreadful opinion of them. Problem is I can't remember what I read! But to this day, I still can't stand them.

    Anything involving Kiwamu- You can assume why.

    Apparently my favourites are 'rather basic' but I won't lie that these are my favourites. 

     

    10) SUG (one of the first bands I got into)

    9) Dog inthe PWO (they're not really my thing but they genuinely cheer me up)

    4) The Gazette (first album VK album I bought was theirs)

    I still haven't properly listened to KHRYST+. What song would you recommend?

    Nightmare was one of my first as well. I believe it was Nightmare, SUG, Alice Nine and VAMPS(I think?). Who came first, I don't know.

    I've always known of Vidoll but I don't think I've ever tried listening to them. I have a faint memory of planning to and then listening to Vani;lla (sp?) instead 😂

    Hello, I'm Velle

     

    Please comment with a hello and tell me who your favourite bands are! 

     

    I've been binge reading the forums the last couple of days so I've finally decided to join. 

     

    I got into VK when I was 14 and was behind a 'popular' tumblr blog for Jrock a couple of years ago. I've missed the community, so sad to see it seems to have shrunk while I haven't been paying attention.

     

    I guess I joined partly to find more people interested In the same music as me, but also to find out about the people and the scene I worshipped in my teen years. I'm beginning to learn that it wasn't/isn't as perfectly polished as I had believed (I supposed I was wearing rose tinted glasses)

    As creepy as hell as this sounds, I'm trying to find out some more stuff about Hitsugi but his foreign fandom has really shrunk since I last took interest in him.

     

    any obscure facts would be good.

     

    Mostly trying to find out random facts about his childhood or Nightmare's early days.

     

    Even rumours will do.

     

    I'm just incredibly curious. No idea why.
