Leda (ex-DELUHI, ex-GALNERYUS, ex-UNDIVIDE, FAR EAST DIZAIN) was their guitarist for a decent amount of time and was part of their first live with the Kami-band. And one of their drummers, Aoyama Hideki was the drummer for the shortlived VK band EVER+LAST.

You should check up the talent that's behind the girls because they're pretty phenomenal!

Ok I totally forgot about Leda. Eventho I'm not familiar with many vk bands, I know this dude because he works with Golden Bomber (my fav) behind the scene. And this is how I know that Golden Bomber and BABYMETAL are somehow related to one another LOL (which makes me love them even more).

Then there's everset's tatsuo who was/is still involved in some of BABYMETAL's song composition. tatsuo co-arranges all of Golden Bomber's songs together with Kiryuuin (Golden Bomber's vocalist).

As for the other dudes, I know they're really talented musicians, just that I had no idea that they had anything to do with vk ;)

I thought these guys were cool for a minute, but they're gimmick got old for me really quick. As far as I'm concerned, the only bands that really got the traditional Japanese and rock mix right were Kagrra and Onmyoza. Wagakki Band is a little overbearing sometimes.

I love traditional japanese sound + rock and I tried to get into this band but their sound is not my cup of tea I guess. D: Yeah, it just feels like something's not right LOL

Thanks for mentioning Kagrra and Onmyoza, I may check them out later ;)

    huh, fuck.
any word on if this policy applies only to firsthand retailers, or does it extend to secondhand shops like closetchild & individuals selling their old discs on amazon?

That, and for those who always use service like tenso which provides japanese address, I wonder if they will refuse to ship Avex CDs/DVDs to us in the future? I always have my items shipped to tenso's warehouse, and it'll suck if I won't be able to do so in the future.

I wouldn't worry if it's non-VK. It's still relevant (especially since some VK players have been in the Kami-band, etc.).

I see. I didn't know that Kami band had some relation to vk. Thought they're non-vk jrockers. Once again, thanks for your responses!

    Try here.

Thanks, so we can actually sell non-vk stuff there :X'D:

(I was kinda afraid to do it cos it seemed like everyone was selling vk stuff)

    Will do later.

  6. Kisumi = Kiss Me

    Kinbaku =

    Quote

Golden Bomber (ゴールデンボンバー Gōruden Bonbā?, abbreviated as Kinbaku (金爆), Bomber (ボンバー) or GB) is a Japanese visual kei "air" rock band formed in 2004 and signed to the independent label Euclid Agency (sublabel Zany Zap). Despite not actually performing the music themselves, they have gained popularity through their theatrical "live shows".

    Wiki

    There you go.

Also no, I'm not a perv or anything...the "kiss me!" part is just me copying the vocalist's self-intro: 自己紹介:キスミー!(^-^)

    *copypasted from his ameba profile*

    I think it's so cute!

PS: The wiki says so, but they actually do play their instruments live sometimes. They just say they don't because they want the general public to believe so. Just feel like throwing this out here

  7. Ah...BABYMETAL.

One of my fav groups. I'm not really a fan of Metal Resistance tho. Their self-titled album was more of my style, and I listen to it A LOT. Megitsune is pure gold. Loveee its concept + style.

Please message me if you guys want to buy their BD + singles + album. They're in totally great condition, I just don't know where else to advertise (beside tumblr)!

I wonder if the guys got tired of performing Memeshituke? :D

Judging from that noroi PV (that one with the white dude), I feel like they did get tired of promoting it everywhere XD

(poor guys, their other songs are just as catchy XD )

But during concerts they seem to enjoy performing it as usual since it's a fan fav  ;)

I have used White Rabbit a few times in the past. I say their service is pretty good. They can be pretty slow at replying to your emails, and the fees that they charge can be pretty expensive compared to ZenMarket for example, but your stuff will reach you just fine ;)

Their language products are pretty cool too (Kana / Kanji Flashcards & posters, etc)

By the way, everyone MUST check out 'suruga-ya' if it hasn't been mentioned yet here. Then ship your orders to tenso.com ;)

  10. Golden Bomber's Kiryuuin Shou.

I literally die whenever he sings their slow songs, and they have quite a lot of slow songs (Sekai Heiwa, Hirogaru Sekai, Sayonara3x, Kimi ga Inai Ma ni, Haru ga Kuru Mae ni, etc)

I guess I didn't quite explain what I meant. With nowadays, I meant what is huge TODAY, with the public in general, not rock fans or young people or smth. bands that everyone knows, that are constanly hitting top 10 oricon charts in recent years, the salarymen knows, the waiter knows, the student knows. Always on the TV, and not only living on past sucesses, without any new hit in a while or so... This kind of band. Think Metallica or Coldplay or Foo Fighters eastern equivalent, but would be better if backed up by numbers

You can always visit aramajapan.com for some 'evidence', as the guys there always post the Oricon data & such. ;)

These are some bands that are huge with the general public:

    RADWIMPS

    back number

    Mr. Children

    Southern All Stars

    Man with a Mission

    B'z

    Sekai no Owari

From what I've heard, mega-popular groups are things like Golden Bomber and any of the uber bands from the late 90s (Kuroyume, Luna Sea, X, Pierrot, Buck-tick, anything associated with Diru, etc). Aside from them, I don't think anyone really cares :staru:

Agree, and in Golden Bomber's case, you know you're popular & mainstream in Japan when you got to appear alongside people like Arashi & SMAP on national TV, more than once. Then let's not forget Kouhaku. They didn't make it last year, but they managed to perform there for FOUR years straight. Their concerts are held at big venues like Yokohama Arena, Saitama Super Arena, etc. ;)

Hmm... I can't imagine Golden Bomber guys having real porn, even though they do those pervy stuff

Softporn, yes, this is what they've been doing since forever but real, full-blown one? As a huge fan of them I can't imagine it too XD Kirisho and Yutaka don't even want to kiss each other properly (in public), and Kirisho said that it's 'scary' how he kissed Yutaka when he's drunk XD (he said that he can't remember a thing, ehem, but Kenji told him what he did). I'm like 'yeah okay, right. so you can't remember a thing. ahah'.

Kinda validates my statements in regards to how e.g. idol group scene kinda double-standardizes the image of "innocence" with various figures being involved in gravure, even hardcore porn as we speak (e.g. Kamen Joshi).

LOL if we're talking about mainstream idols, even for a group like AKB48, out of hundreds of them, only 1 / 2 or 3 of them ended up doing hardcore porn after they graduated (so far). One of them already left the porn business (after just a short time). They may seem like they'll end up being AV idols after they graduate (thanks to all those 'naughty' photoshoots and stuff...), but they mostly prefer to continue singing / acting in normal stuff ;)

    THIS.

There's this one toku actor who I kinda like (Kamen Rider Blade). He was caught being in an old jgv vid where he's being sucked by another dude, LOL.

yeah i've noticed that most vk-related pr0n is AV unfortunately, besides sola and maria cross. at least as far as i'm aware.

I really like "zutto/itsumo" for some reason. Probably the way its said, and just the definition of it (pretty much "always"). I'm a sap.

That, and "yume no naka de" , since the first time that I heard Arashi's Aiba said it, for some reason.

And then  "kutabare" and "kuso" -.-" XD

LOL I think I've watched the version someone uploaded on YouTube like a hundred times!

Do you play twister... I mean use twitter? ;)

I also think the Yokubou no Uta video is the best tribute to v-kei anyone has ever done, and their performance at VJS knocked me off my feet. Have you seen it? :D

Hehe it can't be helped that they never fail to perform that song everytime too!

    Yes, here's my twitter: https://twitter(dot)com/saite_kirikyan

I'm not really active there though. I use it mainly for updates ;3

Ohhh that video. It seems like it's quite popular here LOL! Yeah, eventhough I don't know much about bands like X and Malice Mizer, I'm happy that the PV got some great reviews by old-time vk fans!

VJS 2016? I don't think I've seen their part. I think I've only watched the interview part or something...was it the one where they sang 'Memeshikute' together with Yoshiki? And then Kirisho was praised by ToshI and all right? You're so lucky to be able to go!

    Hello and welcome! :)

I had no idea Kyan sometimes actually plays the guitar for real, that's cool. I love Golden Bomber, they are hilarious and Dakishimete Schwarz is my favorite karaoke jam. :D

Thanks for the warm welcome! :D And wow, a fellow GB fan! <3

Ah, Dakishimete Schwarz is one of my favs too and they need to reveal the truth more often LOL!

And I don't see Babymetal changing their members... That shit would fly in Japanese with people "graduating", but not overseas. People like Babymetal because the pop and metal fusion.  It's not because it's a bunch of teenagers doing it.

Welcome, welcome~ Great introduction, it was a lovely read! Always cool to see someone with more of a mixed bag of music taste. I instantly spotted T.M Revolution, Alice Nine, and GUILD, ehe. Great stuff. Now I do hope you're able to look around the forums and enjoy yourself. For any help whatsoever, feel free to send a message to members with a blue/red name!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!

    Haha great stuff indeed ;)
